Work Text:

  Sean had a terrible habit.

The bell on the door rang as someone entered the café.

  "Welcome." Sean said.

"Good morning P'Sean." White greeted Sean and walked over to the counter.

"Good morning White." Sean smiled and grabbed the muffin he had been saving for White and placed it on the counter. "Here you go."

"Oh, thank you. How much is it?" White asked, taking it and giving Sean a smile.

  "On the house." Sean said.

"Oh, no. I can't take it for free. You always give me free things. I feel bad." White said, taking out some money out of his pocket.

  "It's fine." Sean assured him.

  "But-"

"How about you order a drink and pay for that and we'll call it even?" Sean asked.

White bit his lower lip and nodded.

  "Okay." White said.

White ordered an ice tea and paid.

Sean quickly turned around and started making his drink. His co-worker Yok gave him a knowing look and shook his head amused.

Sean had a bad habit of giving freebies to White whenever he saw him.

"Here you go." Sean handed White his drink.

  White gave Sean a smile.

"Thanks Phi." White said. "Well, I've got a lot of work to do today so I'm going to take a seat."

  "Good look." Sean said.

White gave Sean one last smile before turning around and heading to a booth.

"He has you wrapped around his little finger." Yok said when White was far away enough that he wouldn't hear.

"Shut up." Sean said, turning and starting to clean the counter.

"Dude, Gumpa said you can't give freebies anymore." Yok said.

"It's the last one." Sean said.

"Until White gives you a smile and you give him every dessert on display." Yok teased.

"Shouldn't you be preparing your guy's drink? He usually comes in now and you always have his drink ready to impress him." Sean said.

"Shit!" Yok said and quickly started making Dan's usual drink.

  Sean knew Yok was right.

He couldn't resist giving White freebies whenever he saw him.

White had walked into the café for the first time three months ago. And Sean knew he was in love the second he smiled at him.

The bell on the door jingled as Dan walked in.

Yok quickly pushed Sean away from the register and placed Dan's usual drink in front of Dan.

Sean rolled his eyes and he heard Yok flirt with him.

Sean and Yok had a deal. Yok let Sean be the one to take White's order every time he came in and Sean let Yok be the one to take Dan's order every time he came in.

Sean glanced at White and saw him typing away on his laptop already. From what White had told him he was in his final year of getting his masters. He was ahead of most people his age since he had skipped two grades when he was younger and got his bachelor's in three years. So White was only twenty and already going to graduate at the top of his class with his masters degree.

Lunch time rush started and Sean didn't have much time to look over at the booth White was working in.

Two hours later Sean finally had the chance to take a break and glanced over at the table White had been sitting at. He saw White's drink was empty and the muffin had been eaten.

"Don't do it." Yok said as he watched Sean make the same iced tea White had ordered when he'd arrived. "Sean, you said earlier was the last freebie."

"I'll pay for these." Sean said as he grabbed a plate and started filling it with snacks and desserts.

  Yok sighed.

Sean walked over to White with the drink and filled plate.

"Hey." Sean said, stopping next to White's table.

"Oh, hey." White said, getting startled and looking up and giving Sean a smile. "Is it your break time?"

"Yeah, here I brought you a new drink and some snacks." Sean said, placing the drink and plate in front of White. "And before you say anything it's on the house."

"I can't accept all of this." White said, staring at all the snacks on the plate. "Let me pay for them. You already gave me a muffin earlier."

  "It's fine." Sean assured him.

"But…" White knew Sean wasn't going to let him pay. He'd just make sure to leave a large tip before he left to cover for everything. "Fine, sit down and eat them with me though. I can't possibly eat all of this and I need a break."

Sean sat down across from White and grabbed a cookie from the plate.

"What are you working on today?" Sean asked. "You looked really focused."

  White sighed.

"A research paper that is worth half of my grade. The professor gave us the prompt at the beginning of the semester and told us it would be due at the end so we should plan accordingly. I have my outline mostly done so I decided to start writing the actual paper but I'm having a hard time turning my outline into sentences and paragraphs that make absolutely sense." White said.

  "That sounds stressful." Sean said.

"It is." White agreed. "But, anyways, how are you? Are you almost done saving up for a motorcycle?"

  "Almost." Sean grinned.

"That's good. Don't forget you promised I would be the first person you gave a ride to." White smiled.

  "I won't." Sean winked.

White felt his face get warm and quickly changed the subject.

They talked for the entirety of Sean's break.

It started raining in the evening.

Sean glanced over at White worried when he saw he was still working on his research paper. He knew White didn't have a car and would most likely choose to walk home in the rain since it was close by.

"Ask him if he needs a ride." Yok said when he noticed Sean kept glancing out the glass walls at the pouring rain and then at White.

  "I don't have a car." Sean said.

"I'll let you take mine." Yok said.

Before Sean could decide he saw a guy enter the café and walk straight towards White's booth with a smile. He tapped White on the shoulder and White turned and his eyes widened before he quickly got up and jumped into his arms.

Sean couldn't hear what they were saying but it was obvious White was extremely happy to see him.

White quickly packed his things and the guy took them from him and carried them as White walked towards the counter where Yok and Sean had been watching them.

"Thanks for the drinks and desserts." White said, smiling and putting a big tip in the tip jar. "I'm heading out now. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

"Oh, I actually got tickets for tomorrow for that exhibition you said you wanted to see." The guy said.

White turned excitedly towards him. "Really?" He asked.

  The guy nodded.

"You're the best P'Gram!" White said.

'Gram…so his name is Gram.' Sean thought to himself as he saw the Gram guy ruffle White's curly hair.

"I'll see you guys the day after tomorrow then. Bye." White said, turning back to Sean and Yok.

  "Bye." Yok said smiling.

"Bye." Sean said trying his best to give a sincere smile but all he could think about was how close White seemed to Gram.

White waved at them before turning around and walking towards the door with Gram.

Sean watched as Gram opened his umbrella as they walked out and wrapped an arm around White's shoulders pulling him close to his side. Gram leaned the umbrella more over White so he didn't get wet and even opened the passenger side car door making sure White was inside before walking over to the driver's side and getting in.

"Don't." Sean said, turning to look at Yok who had his mouth open like he was about to say something.

"What?" Yok asked innocently. "All I was gonna say was that I told you to make a move on White like a week after you first met him before he got snatched up by someone else."

Sean glared at Yok and continued cleaning.

"He's fucking adorable Sean. Did you really think there wasn't like a dozen more people in line to ask him out?" Yok followed Sean around.

  Sean didn't say anything.

"I really thought White had a thing for you though." Yok said more to himself than to Sean. "Maybe he's not dating that Gram guy. Maybe they're just friends."

"They seemed pretty close." Sean said.

  "Close friends?" Yok asked.

  Sean sighed.

Yok patted Sean on the back.

"Don't overthink things. Just ask him next time he comes in." Yok said before walking away.

Sean didn't see White until three days later and surprisingly it wasn't at the café.

Sean had decided to accompany his best friend Namo to the mall to help her look for a birthday present for her girlfriend.

"What about this?" Namo asked holding up a necklace.

  "Hm." Sean nodded.

Namo put the necklace back and picked out a bracelet.

"What about this? I could get a matching one too." Namo said, showing him the bracelet.

  "Hm." Sean nodded.

Namo sighed and put the bracelet back. She grabbed Sean by the arm and pulled him out of the store. She walked over to a bench and made Sean sit down and sat down next to him.

  "What's wrong?" Namo asked.

  "Nothing." Sean said.

  Namo gave him a look.

"What's wrong? Don't say nothing or I'll pinch you." Namo said.

Sean winced knowing Namo pinched like a crab. It fucking hurt.

Sean told Namo about White and Gram. She knew all about his crush on White since the first day he'd met him Sean had shown up at Namo's and rambled on and on about the cute guy that had walked into the café that day. Then the next day she had received a call from Sean saying the guy had shown up again. Then the next day she'd received five voice-mails from Sean and twenty texts saying the cute guy had talked to him. Ever since Sean had met White she has been dealing with Sean bi panicking.

"Maybe they're not dating. I mean it's not like they kissed or anything. They could just be really close friends. Don't overthink things." Namo said, trying to reassure her best friend. She knew White. She'd met him a few times when she'd dropped by the café when Sean was working and she knew White liked Sean too. They were both very obvious about their feelings.

"I'm pretty sure they're dating." Sean said.

"Why do you say that?" Namo asked.

  "Turn around." Sean said.

Namo turned and her eyes widened when she saw White looking grumpy as he held hands with a guy. The guy was smiling and leaned down and started giving kisses to White all over his face. She saw White hitting the guy in the chest and telling him to stop and that people were looking but he didn't look like he minded at all. He actually looked happy.

Namo turned back to look at Sean.

"I'm sorry." Namo said, grabbing Sean's hand and squeezing it.

"I'm fine." Sean said. "I'm going to the restroom. I'll be right back." He stood up and walked away.

Namo sighed and turned once again to look at where White and the guy had been. She saw them start walking in her direction and she prepared herself to be seen by White and greeted. White always said hello to her.

But to her surprise White glared at her when he saw her looking at them. He continued walking holding hands with the guy.

'What the hell?' Namo thought to herself.

White was extremely nice and she had never seen him glare at someone. She didn't even think he could glare the way he just did at her.

Something was weird about the entire thing.

The next day Sean was in a bad mood all day. Yok took over the register after he noticed customers looked scared to approach Sean.

"Um…do you want me to take his order or…?" Yok asked when he saw White walking down the sidewalk towards the café door.

"You can take it." Sean said turning around and making himself look busy.

Yok stayed at the register as White walked in and towards the counter.

"Good morning." White cheerfully greeted Yok and then glanced at Sean.

"Good morning White." Yok said. "What can I get for you today?"

White's smile faltered when he saw Sean not even turn around and look at him. He was used to Sean taking his order and making small talk before taking a seat.

"Oh, um, I'll have a…" White ordered a drink and muffin.

"I'll take them to your table in a bit." Yok said after White had paid and handed him his receipt.

"Thanks." White said, glancing at Sean before walking away to take a seat.

"You're so cold." Yok turned and looked at Sean.

  "Whatever." Sean said.

Yok sighed and quickly started making White's drink. He grabbed the muffin White had picked and put it on a plate.

White tried not to look over his shoulder and at Sean. He didn't know what to feel after he ignored him. He had planned on finally asking Sean out today after Gram had talked his ear off about how he could tell Sean had a major crush on White.

Now he didn't know what to do.

When Yok walked over with his drink and muffin White told him to wait before he walked away.

"Um, Yok, is something wrong with Sean? Is he okay?" White asked.

"He's fine." Yok said, giving White a nervous smile.

  "Oh." White said.

"Don't worry about it." Yok said before walking away.

  White sighed.

He quickly took out his phone and texted Gram.

After White told Gram about what had happened Gram said he had no idea why Sean would act that way when it had been pretty obvious he had liked White. Before White could reply back Gram sent a message saying Black had seen the messages and he was now demanding to know who Sean was.

White slammed his head on the table and groaned. He was doomed. Gram can't keep a secret from Black.

Ten minutes later White received a text from Black saying him and Gram were dropping by the café and joining him in two hours once they were done with what they were doing.

White slammed his head on the table once again.

White decided to work on his research paper and get his mind off Sean and Black showing up and embarrassing him in two hours.

Sean tried not to glance over at White but every five minutes or so he looked over.

  He was confused.

He had really thought White felt the same way about him as he did.

"Stop it." Yok said for like the tenth time in the past two hours.

"I thought he liked me." Sean said.

'Me too.' Yok thought to himself.

"Go into the kitchen and check on the cakes in the oven." Yok said.

Sean sighed before heading into the kitchen.

Yok turned to look at the door when he heard the bell and froze, shocked at what he saw.

A guy that looked exactly like White but with straight hair, tattoos, and dressed the complete opposite than how White dressed was looking around with a frown. The guy from before, Gram, was standing behind him and took his hand before leading him to the table White was sitting on.

  White had a twin.

Yok was about to run into the kitchen and tell Sean the good news when someone at a table raised their hand. He headed over. Hopefully Sean came out of the kitchen and realized the misunderstanding for himself.

Meanwhile in the kitchen Sean put the cookies in the oven and sighed.

He headed back to the front and saw Yok was helping a table.

He looked around and saw White wasn't alone anymore. Gram was sitting across from him and another guy was sitting next to White. Sean couldn't see his face since he was turned towards White. Gram looked over at Sean and raised his hand.

  Fuck.

Sean took a deep breath and headed over.

"-the fuck would reject you? Does he think he's better than you? Who is he? Tell me White. I'll punch him for making you sad." The guy was saying to White as he approached.

"Phi this is all a misunderstanding. P'Gram is a liar." White glared at Gram not noticing Sean was standing next to their table.

"I read the messages!" The guy exclaimed.

White pouted knowing there was no way to get out of this one.

  Sean cleared his throat.

"Can I get anything for you guys?" Sean asked, forcing a smile.

White's eyes widened as he looked up and saw Sean.

Sean saw as the guy sitting next to White turned and he almost dropped his notepad in shock.

Black looked at his name tag and then glared at Sean.

  "So it's you." Black growled.

"What?" Sean asked but Black was already standing up and White was holding onto his waist so he couldn't lunge at Sean. Gram was snickering.

"Phi you're embarrassing me!" White exclaimed.

"Let's go!" Black said, turning to look at his little brother. "I'll find a better café for you to work on your research paper at. Gram grab his stuff."

"No!" White said, still holding onto Black's waist.

"Babe, don't you think you're overrea-" Gram shut up when he saw Black turn and glare at him. "Nevermind. Love you."

"Phi, I'm not going anywhere else. If you want to leave then go." White said.

"You're coming with us." Black said, trying to pry White's arms from around his waist. He then turned and glared at Sean. "And you."

  Sean gulped.

"You think you can do better than my little brother?" Black scoffed. "White can do better than you. Stuck up prick. You're not even good looking."

Sean did not know what the fuck was going on.

"Phi!" White said and covered Black's mouth before looking at Sean. "I'm so sorry. My Phi is crazy. Ignore him."

  "Um…" Sean said.

"Ow!" White took his hand off Black's mouth when he felt him bite him.

"Guys, you're kind of making a scene." Gram said.

White looked around and realized everyone was looking at them. He turned bright red.

"Let's go." Black said finally being able to stand up. He pushed Sean out of the way.

"P'Gram, your boyfriend is crazy." White turned and glared at Gram. "I'm never telling you anything ever again. You always tell P'Black."

  Gram sighed and stood up.

"Black let's give White and Sean a moment." Gram said, grabbing Black's arm and starting to pull him away.

  "Let go." Black struggled.

"We're even." Gram told White before picking up Black and putting him over his shoulder and heading towards the door. "We'll be back in twenty minutes."

"Gram I'm going to kill you!" Black yelled and kicked and hit Gram on the back.

"Love you too." Gram said before walking out.

Sean turned and looked at White who looked mortified.

  "Um…" Sean said.

"I'm sorry!" White said. "P'Gram told P'Black, that's my twin brother if you didn't notice, about my crush on you and he got mad because he thinks you rejected me and now he wants to fight you but just ignore him. He's a little protective. I'm so sorry."

Sean was speechless about everything he had just learned in the last five minutes.

"Wait, so you aren't dating Gram?" Sean asked.

  White made a disgusted face.

"Ew, gross, nope. P'Black and P'Gram are dating and have been dating for over five years now." White said.

"So it wasn't you that I saw at the mall yesterday?" Sean asked, already knowing the answer. Now that he thought about it Black had looked nothing like White. No adorable curly hair and round glasses. No oversized soft sweaters.

"No, that was probably P'Black and P'Gram. They went on a date yesterday." White said.

"Wait!" Sean suddenly exclaimed, making White jump. "Did you just say you have a crush on me?"

"Oh." White blushed and nodded. "Yeah, I thought I was pretty obvious."

"You were." Yok said as he passed by.

"I thought you were dating Gram." Sean said embarrassed.

"As you can tell I'm not." White pointed at the glass window where you could see Gram hugging Black from behind and saying something meanwhile Black just stood there with his arms crossed glaring at Sean through the glass.

"Yeah." Sean said, looking back at White.

"I'll go." White said, suddenly starting to pack all his things.

  "What? Why?" Sean asked.

"My brother caused a scene and you probably feel uncomfortable knowing I've had a crush on you for the past three months." White said.

"I don't!" Sean said quickly and White froze and looked up at Sean. "I mean…I don't feel uncomfortable because I've had a crush on you for the past three months too."

  White smiled and stood up.

  "Really?" White asked.

  Sean smiled back and nodded.

"Yeah, really. I've had feelings for you since the first day we met." Sean said. "You can ask Namo. She's had to listen to me talk about you for the past three months."

"Then, do you want to go on a date sometime?" White asked shyly.

  "How about Friday?" Sean grinned.

  White nodded.

  "Sounds perfect." White said.

There was a sudden loud tap on the glass wall and both Sean and White jumped and turned and saw Black standing there.

"Um, I don't think your brother likes me." Sean said as he saw Black glaring at him and making rude gestures with his hands.

"He'll get over it." White said, turning back to Sean and smiling at him. "He can't say no to me."

Looking at White's smile and dimples, Sean understood why Black had a hard time saying no to him.

Sean and White talked a bit more until Gram finally let go of Black and he stormed inside and forbid Sean from ever seeing White again.

  Sean stood his ground though.

Friday night Sean showed up at White's place to pick him up for their date. White opened his apartment door, grabbed Sean's hand, and pulled him along as they ran into the elevator and he hit the lobby button. As the elevator doors closed he saw Black run out of White's apartment yelling for Sean to give him his brother back.
