Gods of Another World

Summary:

Percy, Jason, Annabeth, and Nico were transported to the world of MHA. This story may seem like it’s mostly about the half-bloods, but it’s going to center around Midoriya. It’ll start out with the half-bloods, but quickly transfer to focus on Midoriya. This story will be Fem Izuku, it just doesn’t come up in the first chapter.

Notes:

This is my first fanfic, so please be nice! Comments and constructive criticism are really appreciated. I wanted a fanfic that had elements of Percy Jackson, but was mostly about Midoriya and how they would interact, but I couldn’t find one that had the exact theme that I wanted to read, so I wrote one! Enjoy!

Chapter Text

“Stay close,” Aizawa ordered the teenage heroes in training. They were about to begin their training in the field, but something felt off to Aizawa. Last time he had ignored that prickly feeling, the USJ had been attacked and the students, and himself, had almost died. He refused to let that happen again. Not this time, not ever.

Suddenly, there was a flash. On the opposite side of the field, a small group of teenagers, around the same age as the heroes in training, appeared. The four teenagers glanced at class 1-A with wary eyes.

“Where are we Nico?” The boy with messy black hair and striking green eyes asked as he glanced at the younger boy beside him.

The boy, Nico, looked exasperatedly at Percy. “How should I know? My shadow travel has never done anything like this before. Maybe if you had actually checked this out before running headlong into a fight like usual we wouldn’t be in this mess, now would we, Percy?”

Percy took a step forward, anger apparent on his face, but the other two teenagers stepped forward. The girl with blonde hair and sharp gray eyes grabbed his arm and the blonde boy with blue eyes and a tattoo on his arm stepped in between them.

“Enough of this you guys, the gods must have hijacked the shadow travel for a reason,” the blonde boy muttered, “and besides, we need to figure out where we are and why.”

As if just noticing them, the blonde girl made eye contact with the group of teenagers several meters away from them.

Aizawa tightened his grip on his capture weapon as their eyes met. The small group of four may be teenagers, but for all he knew they could also be villains. After all, villainy has no age limit.

“Percy, Jason, Nico, look.” Her voice carried over the discussion and the three boys looked up.

“What Annabeth?” sighed Percy, “we really need to be making a game plan right now, and we really need your help for that, so could you focus please.”

Annabeth glared at Percy until he finally noticed what she had first discovered. The four teenagers looked up and Aizawa decided to act.

“Who are you people? You’re trespassing on private school property, so unless you want to be arrested, you better talk now.”

The students behind him were ready to act as well should the group turn out to be villains. Annabeth intervened before things could turn ugly.

“We mean you no harm, our means of transportation malfunctioned for a second and led us here, but we’ll be on our way now.” She raised her hands placatingly in a calming manner.

She turned towards the smaller black haired boy. “Nico, let’s go.”

Nico frowned down at his hands. “I would but my shadow travel isn’t working, the gods must be telling us that there’s something here that we need in order to go home. Looking at the kids over there, I think we might be in another world. One similar to ours but partially different.”

The teenagers looked around and noticed what Nico was mentioning. In the group of students, there was a boy with multiple arms, a girl with headphone jacks as ears, and a floating uniform. They didn’t have the scent of monsters, but they were definitely something different. Not to mention the people were all wearing weird costumes.

“I’m sick of waiting. Why don’t we just kick their asses and ask questions later,” a spikey ash blonde haired boy screamed.

The teacher just sighed and looked over at his student. “We’ll give them a chance to figure out what happened and leave, and then if they don’t and they’re deemed a threat, then we’ll attack. It’s illogical to rush headlong into an unnecessary battle if they aren’t even villains to begin with.”

The half-bloods were confused by his wording. Villains? Did he mean monsters? If so, then did that mean that half-bloods existed in this world as well? Annabeth took a breath, closed her eyes, and felt the surrounding air for godly power. Her eyes popped open.

“There’s definitely godly power here. This world might not be as different from our own as we thought. If there’s godly power here, that means we can get home. We just have to figure out what the gods sent us here for.”

Percy chewed his lip and tilted his head as he puzzled over everything they knew about their situation. His head jerked up abruptly and he tapped Jason’s shoulder. “Hey, if gods exist in this world, that probably means that there’s half-bloods here as well! Maybe one of them can help us or point us towards where a larger group of half-bloods are so we can discuss what’s happening.”

Annabeth felt the air again. “Actually, it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of godly power here. It’s probably more like there’s a singular half-blood here. But why would there be a half-blood and not gods? Does that mean the half-blood is actually from our world?” Annabeth muttered the last couple of questions to herself.

“Maybe they want us to get the half-blood that’s here before we go home. After all, if we got here, and no gods exist in this world, that most likely means that that half-blood is from our world as well. All we have to do is find them.”

Once again, all of the group's eyes looked up at the small class not too far away. They began to scan them over as if they would be able to detect godly power from so far away and from a clustered group.

Jason especially wanted to go home as soon as possible. He was anxious about being separated from Piper, his girlfriend, without a way to contact her and make sure she was okay. Not that Piper couldn’t take care of herself, he just felt better when she was with him, and she was probably just as worried about him disappearing and not showing up at the meeting point.

The stranded half-bloods would just have to wait until they figured things out before they could go home.

Chapter Text

All she wanted was a nice, simple training day. Was that too much to ask? First, the USJ had been attacked. Then the training camp, her trip to the grocery store for the school festival, and even just a simple trip to the mall. It shouldn’t be this hard to actively avoid villains when in training. But of course, something just had to happen when they were going out into a nice, big, isolated field to train.

The day had started out great. Izumi had gone for her daily jog with Todoroki and Iida and the weather had been perfect. There had been a slight breeze, and minimal sunshine. Sato had even made breakfast! An all-American breakfast with pancakes and bacon was her favorite.

But then, of course, villains had to ruin it. Class 1-A had just gotten off of the bus and onto the field when it all happened.

“Begin warmups, class,” Aizawa-sensei had instructed.

And so they had. Midoriya, Uraraka, Tsu, Todoroki, and Iida had all sat down next to each other to begin stretching. Aizawa-sensei didn’t usually start the class with stretching, but they figured that just meant that the exercise that day would be even more vigorous than usual.

Finally, the class had begun.

“Today we will be doing an exercise similar to capture the flag. The teams are already set up, so don’t bother trying to form your own. Each team will have robots similar to civilians that they need to guard and the goal is to take the other team’s robots. Each team will think of the other as the villain, so based on your perspective the civilians will either be hostages or targets that you’re protecting from being kidnapped.”

As names were being called out for the teams, Aizawa suddenly stiffened. The feeling in the air had changed and they had all noticed it.

“Do you think it’s villains again?” Todoroki whispered to Midoriya.

She cocked her head slightly as she pondered her answer.

“I don’t think so. It’s obviously something, but feel the air, there isn’t any bloodlust around. Nothing like Shigaraki or even Stain is present.”

Tsu glanced uneasily around while listening to the others' conversation. Izumi was right about there being no bloodlust, but all villains were different. Kind of like Toga. Toga had originally shown some bloodlust, it was more similar to lust in general and just plain craziness before it turned into bloodlust. They would have to be careful if a threat appeared.

The opposite end of the field was covered in pure darkness. It looked as if night had taken over half of the field. Then, from the darkness appeared four teenagers.

Class 1-A started shifting their feet around uneasily. It wasn’t a warp gate like Kurogiri, but it was definitely some type of teleportation.

Most of the teenagers had the same questions on their minds.

Who were they? Why did they come? What did they want? Were they dangerous?

None of them had the answers, however, all of them wanted to find out.

The new teenagers stumbled for a second when they dropped, but quickly found their footing. The teenagers seemed to be three boys and one girl.

The teenagers looked oddly familiar to Izumi. She couldn’t figure out why though; she didn’t think she had met them before. It was mostly one of the boys, she decided, that looked familiar.

“Why do I feel as if I’ve seen him before?” She muttered.

Bakugou, having heard her, looked at her oddly for a second before turning back to face the potential threats.

All of the sudden it clicked. His eyes. That’s what was so familiar. They were the same shade as hers.

Still, Izumi didn’t drop her guard as she and her classmates watched the teenagers converse. They didn’t seem like they were going to attack. Actually, they seemed confused, like they weren’t supposed to be there.

The air felt suffocating and Izumi could feel her anxiety running loose. All of her classmates were in similar states. Jirou twiddled with her chords, Uraraka had her hands in fists at her side, Satou held a packet of sugar tightly, and even Bakugou was on edge.

Unsurprisingly, it was Bakugou who snapped first.

“I’m sick of waiting. Why don’t we kick their asses and ask questions later.”

Kirishima laid a hand on Bakugou's shoulder as Aizawa leveled him with a glare. Just because they had appeared didn’t mean they meant to hurt them. Aizawa might have responded to Bakugou’s comment, but Izumi was too distracted to notice. They didn’t want to go picking fights with people who weren’t interested in causing chaos after all.

Once again, Izumi stared at them. This time though, one of the teenagers was staring back. They were all staring at them, but the teenager with the same eyeshade as Izumi had locked eyes with her.

The boy ran his hand through his hair in a nervous gesture before his eyes suddenly widened. He had figured out why she looked so familiar to him as well. Her eyes had given her away.

Izumi’s stomach clenched as the boy turned to his friends and talked in a voice too low for the heroes in training to hear.

Aizawa quickly looked backwards at his class before he focused his eyes back on the mysterious quartet.

“Jirou, can you hear what they’re saying?”

Jirou plugged her chords into the ground and closed her eyes.

“I can’t completely tell. They’re definitely talking about wanting to go home. It also seems like they need something for that to happen. Something that they’re missing. I don’t know what a half-blood is though.”

Izumi’s face paled. She knew exactly what they were now. The life she had run away from had finally caught up to her.

“Jirou, are you sure they said half-blood?” Izumi asked.

Aizawa looked at her oddly, eyebrows furrowed. In fact, most of the class seemed confused by her fear.

“Is there something you’re not telling us, problem child?”

Izumi looked down. “No, it was just a question. Half-blood seems like a weird kind of word,” she lied.

Aizawa didn’t seem satisfied by her answer, but he allowed her to lie in favor of paying attention to the situation in hand.

As Aizawa turned to analyze the situation once again, Izumi’s mind was racing.

“They never should have found me here. Hera helped transport me and my mother to this world when I was four so that I wouldn’t be mixed up in everything. She didn’t want the prophecy to come to fruition, but she also didn’t want to kill a small, defenseless child.”

Now that Izumi knew they were half-bloods, she knew that the odds would not favor them in a fight. Sure, they had the advantage of numbers, but what would happen when Aizawa-sensei found out his quirk didn’t work to erase their ‘quirks?’ He would find that odd, and then she would be questioned due to her reaction from earlier.

Izumi couldn’t allow them to find out about her godly powers as well. She had purposely hidden them and pretended to be quirkless in order to draw attention away from her powers. She probably could have passed them off as a quirk, but she didn’t want to run the risk of someone else finding out the truth.

In this world, she had only pretended that she had a quirk once All Might had given his to her. It had never been in her original plan to have a quirk in this world and draw attention to herself. She had forgotten why she was hidden there, and her desire to protect others had surfaced with the dream of becoming a hero.

Her mom had decided when Hera had offered them the choice to die or be hidden in another world that they would lay low. They didn’t want other gods finding or messing with them.

It would be suspicious if both mother and daughter were quirkless, so Hera asked Hermes to gift Inko Midoriya the power to pull things slightly towards her. Not enough to be incredibly powerful, but enough to hide them in plain sight through the norms of society.

Hera, however, didn’t want to give Izumi a quirk for fear that it would upset the natural order of things and allow Zeus and the others to figure out what she had done.

With that, Inko and Izumi were hidden in another world, pretending that they had always lived there, and their past lives in their home world were erased from memory.

Those memories had mostly been erased from their minds as well in order to give them a chance to adapt to their new world. When Izumi heard the word ‘half-blood,’ most of it came rushing back.

She hoped that things wouldn’t end as badly as she thought they would, but she had the feeling things would just go downhill from there on out…

Chapter Text

As the half-bloods discussed the possibility of there being godly power, Percy began to scan over the teenagers some distance away from them. Most of them looked on edge. They were in battle poses that were all too familiar to a half-blood like him that had to be constantly on his toes and ready for battle.

His eyes locked with a girl with green hair and eyes who was in the center of the group. She looked familiar, but he couldn’t tell why. All of the sudden, it clicked. Her eyes. They were the same ones he saw in the mirror every day. Her eyes were the same as his.

“Annabeth, look at her eyes.”

Annabeth glanced at him, the skin on her forehead furrowed and her mouth in a tight line.

“Who, Percy? You have to tell me who I’m supposed to be looking at if you want me to check it out.” She responded.

“The girl with green hair. She’s next to the boy with the half red, half white hair.”

Nico and Jason both turned to look as well.
Jason was the first to respond. “Doesn’t- Doesn’t she have the same eyes as you?”

The girl glared back at them. She definitely seemed to know something, but why would she be in a completely different world? It just didn’t make sense.

Nico groaned as they all just stood there, staring at the girl. As she shifted from foot to foot, more people in the group seemed to notice that they were all staring at her. As their eyes shifted between themselves and the green haired girl, the explosive boy spoke again.

“The fuck you looking at Deku for? You said that your transportation fucked up and you would be leaving. If you wanna start a fight, just try it.”

Jason threw up his hands in the air, looked at Annabeth, and slowly began to walk forward. The other teenagers glanced over at him and then began doing the same thing.

“We’re really not here for a fight. We just want to talk to you for a second. I’m Jason. The black haired, green eyed boy is Percy. The girl standing next to him is Annabeth, and the smaller boy is Nico.”

Nico looked over at Jason with his mouth open and scoffed.

“Really, that’s how you chose to describe me? Small? You seriously couldn’t think of anything better than that. Honestly, I’m not even surprised at this point.”

Jason’s footsteps stopped for a moment. “Nico, now is seriously not the time to get mad just because I called you short.”

The green-haired girl laughed at that. Her classmates once again looked at her with confusion. Their teacher stared at them for a second, searching for any signs of ill will towards his students. When he didn’t find any, he loosened his grip on his metal looking scarf slightly.

“I’m Aizawa. However, just because you landed here and your quirk backfired doesn’t mean we want to talk to you. I’m not trying to be rude, just keep my students safe.”

Annabeth looked over at the others before looking back at the teacher. “Quirk, what’s that?” She questioned.

Now the teacher looked confused. “What do you mean, what’s that? Everyone knows what a quirk is. It’s-”

“It’s not important, they’re probably just messing around. They know what a quirk is. Everybody knows what a quirk is.” The green haired girl rambled as she cut him off.

She looked over silently at them, as if urging them to shut up.

“We really don’t-”

“Of course we know what a quirk is.” Annabeth smoothly cut in, glaring at Percy for a quick second. “We were just joking to cut the tension.”

“What’s your name?” Nico asked, looking right at the green haired girl.

“Why do you want to know?” Aizawa countered. “I thought you said you would be on your way.”

The girl looked over at her teacher and then looked back at them. “It’s Midoriya, Midoriya Izumi.”

She let out a small yelp as she was swatted on the back of her head by Aizawa.

“Hey!” She pouted as she rubbed her head.

“Why would you give them your name? We don’t even know them!” The girl next to her with the short brown hair and flushed cheeks asked.

Izumi pointed at Aizawa. “Sensei gave them his name. I figured it wouldn’t hurt if I did as well.”

The half-bloods looked over at her before turning back to look at the man.

The green-haired girl continued on. “So what are you guys really doing here? Even if your shadow travel malfunctioned, why would you come over and talk to us?”

Annabeth’s eyes lit up before she started to smirk at Izumi. “We never said we were using shadow travel, we just said transportation before. In fact, how do you even know what shadow travel is?”

The dual colored and explosive boys stepped in front of Izumi as she took a small step back. Worry was evident on her face for a split second before she changed it to confusion.

“Yes you did. You said your shadow travel malfunctioned, I just assumed that was the name of your quirk.”

Izumi turned to her classmates. “Didn’t you guys hear it too?”

A few of them looked uncertainly back at Izumi before nodding hesitantly. They couldn’t fully remember what the other teenagers had said, but they knew that Izumi was analytical and more likely to pick up on those smaller details than the rest of them.

“Enough of this.” Aizawa’s eyes began to glow and his hair subtly rose up. “Somehow, it seems like the four of you and Midoriya are connected. All of you need to stop beating around the bush and just say the real reason you came here.”

“Fine. Let me get to the point then.” Percy replied. “We didn’t originally come here on purpose, but it seems like someone from our world has been hiding here.”

“The hell do you mean someone from your world? If you're talking about Deku, then you’re wrong. I’ve known the nerd since we were both toddlers.”

The other students nodded, looking slightly less on edge.

“Bakugou’s right. He and Midoriya both have talked about their past together. There’s no way she could be from their world.” The electric looking boy reasoned.

Izumi’s face smoothed out into a subtle look of victory. “That’s right. How could I possibly be from your world?”

Nico had had enough. They all knew that the girl was from their world, even if she didn’t want it known. She was hiding for some reason, and had somehow ended up in this world.

“Either she’s telling the truth and she was transported here as a child and just doesn’t remember, we have the wrong person, or she used the Mist to change their memories.” Nico reasoned.

Izumi looked offended at their accusation of her using the Mist.

The pink skinned girl surged forward, wrapping her arms around Izumi. “Izu would never! She’s been with us since the beginning of the school year and has known Bakugou for even longer. You can’t just tell us that our memories together are fake!”

Izumi nodded and hugged the other girl back tightly before glaring over her shoulder at the half-bloods.

As Percy and Bakugou argued with each other, Nico felt a tug on his shirt. He glanced over to see Jason looking at him. While he didn’t say anything, his eyes kept on looking between Nico, Izumi, and Nico’s shadow.

Nico furrowed his eyebrows at Jason. What on earth was he trying to say?

Nico was distracted from what Jason was attempting, unsuccessfully, to tell him by the green-haired girl cutting in again.

“Hypothetically, who sent you to look for a half-blood in this world? How did you even decide there was one here?”

Percy ignored the rest of what the blonde boy was saying in favor of turning to answer her. “We didn’t know there was a half-blood here. We just guessed. As for who sent us, most likely Hera.”

Izumi gave up on feigning ignorance. “Hera sent you? Really? I kinda find that hard to believe considering she’s the one that told me that I needed to stay here in hiding for my whole life or she would kill me.”

Jason, Annabeth, Percy, and Nico all stared at her.

“So let me get this straight.” Percy said. “You were kidnapped by Hera, lost a portion of your life, and sent to a potentially unfriendly place that you knew nothing about. Did you happen to have your memories wiped at all, too?”

Izumi blinked. “How did you know I had my memories wiped for awhile?”

Jason bounded forward with a smile on his face. “It happened to me too! And Percy as well. We’re actually not big fans of Hera right now. I don’t know why her first solution to any problem is to kidnap a demigod, erase their memories, and hope for the best.”

Izumi smiled back uncertainly before looking back at her teacher.

“Mr. Aizawa, I can totally explain this later, but I think I have to go with them. While I did grow up here, I technically am from their world, and if they need help I have a duty to help them. Besides that is what heroes do.”

She walked over to the demigods as her classmates stood there, stunned. As Nico powered up his shadow travel, some of Izumi’s classmates recovered from their surprise and ran forward in an attempt to grab Izumi. To them, it seemed as if their classmate was being kidnapped, no matter how willingly she had gone.

The last thing Izumi saw as the shadows took her away was Todoroki and Bakugou stretching their hands out to her with wild looks in their eyes.

Izumi smiled sadly as she thought about how this was no doubt similar to what she had experienced when her Kaachan was taken away at the training camp.
