Truth be told, everyone feared Floyd, including you at times of course, but you didn’t mind his presence. Octavinelle is a pretty good dorm, you feel safe around the two eel twins who’d always welcomed you with open arms. It was never a dull moment around them, especially working at Monstro lounge as a part time job could be quite entertaining for you. After all, Jade personally asked you to take care of his brother during clases, mostly deciding to skip on them. You’d let him, even if it was your ‘responsibility’ to look after said eel, a break or two didn’t seem bad. It was practically necessary for him since either way you’d drag him back to class.
You already met the twins in your childhood. The events occurred as so: you fell into the ocean from god knows where, only to find yourself surrounded by two eel like creatures. They helped you get back to shore later on, and ever since then, you visited them each and every single time you could. Most importantly, they did save your life yet surprisingly, all they simply asked for was your company. Fortunately, you had the pleasure to attend Night Raven College, excited at the fact that they were accepted too.
(Flashback)
”Jade! Floyd! What a coincidence, we meet again!”
Jade smiled as his brother gave you a tight hug. Pulling back so he could let you breathe.
“Yes yes, what a marvelous one indeed. I can’t wait to spend more time together alongside you. Isn’t that right Floyd?”
”Yes~! Now that shrimpy-chan is here with us, we can catch up lots!”

The thought of that simple memory made a smile subconsciously appear across your features. Concurrently, Floyd didn’t mean to follow you to the library. He just wanted some peace and quiet for once, since one of his many episodes was coming up again, he’d thought of the first person that’s helped him before, you. In all honesty, you knew he was following you, for whatever reason however remained unknown to you. Deciding to take the first step, you approached him.
”Is there anything I can help you out with, Floyd?”
He jumped at the sudden mention of his name, looking down to stare at you sweetly.
”Actually yeah. I’ve just…not been in the mood lately.”
You frowned, like said before, it wasn’t the first time seeing him like this, but the sight of him in a gloomy state, made you feel uneasy.
”I’m sorry to hear that Floyd, do you…want to talk about it?”
His eyes lit up, meeting yours once again, nodding in agreement as he took a deep breath before venting.
”Sometimes, I feel like I do a good job in class overall but then there’s days where I don’t do anything and teachers get mad at me for it. Like I get it, but not everyone’s a book worm like goldfish here *sigh*. I simply wish to just be left alone at times or skip class, I don’t know.”
You leaned on his shoulder, taking his hand while softly pushing any hairs that landed on his face. You wished you could do more to help him, even after listening to Floyd rant about his day and not being able to do much but just be there to comfort him, didn’t feel like you were doing enough. He sadly smiled, ruffling your hair in attempt to make you smile.
”I can’t really do much to help you but, just know that things are bound to be okay. Even if they aren’t, you’re always welcomed to come around and talk to me. I’ll be here, till the end of times, m’kay?”
He nodded, showing a genuine smile before kissing your cheek and heading out in a hurry leaving you flustered.

“But Kalim! It was just a kiss on the cheek! It doesn’t need to mean anything more than that!”
”Nonsense! He clearly likes you, I mean come on! You’ve seen the way he stares at you during class, its quite obvious!”
You sigh in slight frustration against Kalim. He’s one of the many people you’ve become friends with. Especially to talk about situations like so in particular. He grinned, laughing at the bitter expression wore by none other than you.
”Okay okay geez! Don’t give me that look, it’s possible though, you can’t deny it!”
”…fine, maybe it’s more than a friendship but, how will I ever find out?”
In that given moment, Jamil entered the room. He “apparently” heard of your little conversation, so he began giving you advice.
”Maybe you could ask his brother? Or perhaps spend more time with him if you’d like.”
You nodded, taking his idea in consideration. In due course, it was getting quite late. Heading back after biding the Scarabia boys a goodnight, you found Jade along the way.
”Good afternoon, I was just looking for you precisely, where were you?”
You sighed telling him about Kalim and Jamil’s plan. He smiled patting your head slightly.
“So I see…well I have noticed Floyd looking much better everytime he’s with you. But I could ask him if you’d like”
”Thank you Jade, but I think it’s best we keep this between us at the moment.”
He nodded, keeping you company while walking towards the dormitory.

The following days felt like weeks had passed, you and Floyd managed to spend even more time together than usual. That is until, he broke down for the first time in a while. It was but a normal sunny day, everything was going smoothly. Jade and Azul sat in the cafeteria alongside Floyd, as you arrived to their table, Floyd suddenly stood up, leaving the room. They both stared in confusion.
”Did something happen?”
Azul asked, thinking perhaps you’ve had a fight or discussion with him.
”No? He’s been acting so weird lately, I should check up on him.”
They both nodded, allowing you to go on your search to find Floyd. And you did. Just a few minutes walking into the courtyard, you found him sitting underneath a tree.
”Floyd..? Are you okay?”
”Do I look okay to you? Just, leave me alone.”
Turning on your heel, he suddenly stood up. Staring as the figure of them faded away.

It wasn’t long before he came barging in you room, sitting on the study chair beside your desk. It took you by surprise yet you stayed quiet. He scratched the back of his neck as if he wanted to say something.
”Listen I..I’m not one to say this stuff but, I’m sorry for the way I acted”
You hugged him, it made Floyd feel safe, like he normally would. As you pulled away, his now glossy, turquoise orbs stared at yours.
”It’s okay Floyd. I’m just glad you’re better.”
An awkward silence infused the room, you’ve been doing your homework as Floyd did his as well. Things between the both teens were good, he apologized and they forgave. Still, you couldn’t help but stay quiet throughout the rest of the night. You got tired pretty fast to the point where y/n was sleeping on top of their homework. Floyd saw this and smiled, taking a nearby blanket, placing it on their sleeping form. He kissed your forehead, making sure to leave quietly.

Christmas was just around the corner, yet unfortunately, Floyd and Jade couldn’t go visit their familiars. Due to the water being at an irregular temperature, and the coldness of the winter. So, they decided to spend these holidays with them for the first time. The twins were excited to know you’ll be spending time with them, especially Floyd, he was the happiest out of them both. He tried very little to contain the burst of joy he had with your news. Of course, Azul agreed since he would be hosting a Christmas party in the count of 10 days.
Throughout the weekend, you and the rest of the monstro loungue staff, decorated the venue. ‘Everything has to be perfect’ ; said by Azul. You agreed with him, things must be done correctly if you want certain things to go well, even if some lack the effort to do so. Tonight, the twins had invited you to join them and some of their other guests to the party. You wore a beautiful turquoise (dress/tux), to match Floyd this evening. His eyes laid on you the minute you arrived at the venue. His brother complemented the outfit as Floyd couldn’t mutter a single word at how breathtaking you looked.
”Floyd! Oh um..wow! You look really handsome tonight, who are you trying to impress~?”
Y/n teased, as they giggled. Floyd took hold of your hands while whispering something you couldn’t make out.
”Mind repeating that again?”
”Huh..? Oh, it was um nothing”
Strange, usually he’d be chirpy but tonight, Floyd seemed…serious? Ever so, he took your hand once again, guiding them towards the dance floor as a slow song played. His other hand found place in your hip, bodies moving along the music. They drifted off, thinking of how cute Floyd was underneath that façade. The way he smiled or looked whenever he’d find something interesting. It all made your heart flutter.
”So..do you have any plans for tomorrow?”
Floyd stared as he nodded slightly
“I was thinking of inviting you to dinner, with Jade and Azul perhaps.”
Y/n smiled, giving him a playful nudge as they went outside
”That sounds lovely, I’ll definitely be there”
Floyd grinned, enjoying the view from the balcony. As the night began to fade away, he accompanied them towards their room. Y/n had fun, but slowly the night was getting to them. They suddenly kissed Floyd, not realizing as he returned it, backing away slightly
“Floyd? Oh- I didn’t notice.”
He kissed them back as they smiled
“I…I love you too Y/n”

As promised, he did take you to dinner. To your surprise, Azul and Jade hadn’t shown up. Nonetheless, you both had a fun time. He talked about asking you out that exact same day of the party but he didn’t had the courage to do so. Y/n smiled as they pecked his lips in a reassuring manner.
”It’s alright Floyd, I’m glad we can now be together officially as a couple”
He nodded, shyly smiling as he ordered something to drink.
”Hmm, do you think my brother and Azul know? I mean, it wouldn’t bother them either way but still.”
”I guess, maybe they didn’t show up to give us some space?”
After some minutes however, they showed up surprised to see you both acting so “lovesick”.
”Good afternoon. My apologies you had to wait some time, the lounge got busy after you both left. But may I ask, are you together perhaps?”
Asked Jade, you visibly gulped as a cold sweat ran down Floyd’s temple. Azul sighed as he looked up from his phone.
”By all means, it does not bother either of us whether you are in an established relationship, it makes us happy to know Floyd has found someone who loves him deeply”
Azul commented making you both smile in union, ever since that day, he’s happy to call you his partner, or more often, his shrimpy-chan.
