Having spent hours in line laura is finally home with her nerve gear set up and calibrated she’s giddy to try it for the first time. “Well here we go.” She said to herself and she laid on her bed closing her eyes she said the magic words. “Link Start!” A flash of color filled her vision as she blinked, she was in a different body, she was in Sword Art Online the first full dive mmo, with first day excitement she went and began to grind in the fields.
Three hours had passed as she sat down under an apple tree before hearing the crunching of grass. “What’s up.” A voice said behind her. Looking back she saw a small female walking toward her her poster indicated she wasn’t there to attack. “Nothing much just chilling after some grind you?” She asked moving to make a spot for the girl. “Same honestly, can you believe this is all a game?.” She asked Laura. “Its hard to believe it is it feels so real, anyway, what’s your name?” She asked the girl. “Argo, the names argo.” She told the girl politely. “Well how about we add each other to our friends list?” She said sending the girl a request. “I’d like that Laura.” She accepted as they both layed back and relaxed.
Laura looked at the time, nearly an hour had passed, it was getting late. “Alright time to log off…wait that’s odd, where’s the log out button?” Laura began to panic the log out button wasn’t there argo was about to check but before she could they were forcefully teleported to the town square. As they both stood up they saw a large cloaked figure hovering above the fountain. “As I’m sure many of you have noticed the log out feature has been disabled, this is not a glitch nor a design flaw, no one is able to leave, the respawn system is disabled, if you die in game the nerve gear on your head will fry your brain killing you, in addition if anyone removes the nerve gear forcefully it will also kill you, the only way out is by beating all 100 floors, i the creator and god of this world wish you luck.” And with that he vanished in an instant everyone in the crowd panicked and Laura mad argo began to cry they went to the inn to go and collect themselves, it was a tear filled first night for both of them, and it wouldn’t be the last.
