Happy lunar new year!

Summary:

You and Jett makes tteokguk!

Notes:

Hello! This is lumi, your local Jett lover here.

I noticed there wasn’t any Jett x reader anywhere so I decided to make myself one!

Although I’ve been on ao3 for a long time, this is the first time I’m posting one of my works, please excuse me if there’s any mistakes.

My other works will mostly be Jett x female oc, so this will probably the only Jett x reader I write unless I get a motivation to write another one.

This is a fanfic I wrote few months ago, I finally got to post it today.

Anyways, enjoy! This is not proofread, so will be every other works I made.

Work Text:

“Hey babe!”

The feeling of gentle wind tingling your face woke you as your eyes fluttered open, wincing at the sudden bright light blinding your vision.

“Hey..” you shifted in your bed, and checked the time from the clock beside you. It was fucking five in the morning, and your girlfriend decided it was a great time to wake you up when you’ve gotten a peaceful sleep for once.

And no, no one bothers you when you’re asleep. Usually, their consequence would be gruesome, so nobody bothered to wake you up this early, even your girlfriend wasn’t an exception.

But the sudden rage disappeared as soon as you saw the Korean's beaming face, and your heart melted at the feeling of her hand against yours.

She took your hand and dragged you up to your feet, locking your pinky with hers in the act.

“Why did you wake me up? If you didn’t know, it’s five in the morning.” You reminded, and Jett only looked back to you with an innocent smile still stamped on her pale skin.

“It’s the lunar new year! I remember back when I was with my family, we would have tteok-guk and I really, really love that soup. So I was wondering if you could help me cook it?”

You swore your brain stopped working for a moment, because unconsciously, your lips started to form words, “of course!” And your legs followed her figure without a question.

You saw how she brightened up when she heard you say that, as her pace quickened with the help of the wind. You couldn’t see her face as her back was turned against your front, but you could see her cheek forming a bump, and you could only guess she was hiding her smile.

You two made your way through the dark and twisted hallway quietly on your tippy toes, hushing each other every now and then. You guys didn’t want to wake others who were probably sleeping, so you didn’t bother turning on the lights until you got to the kitchen.

Click, You switched the light on before scanning the kitchen, and squinted your eyes, trying to get used to the brightness of the room. Jett must have been excited, because you saw how she was vibrating with joy as she continued to harp about her experience back in korea. Cooking was her thing, so you only watched as she counted the materials out the fridge before slamming them on the kitchen counter.

“You can mince the garlic, I'll soak the tteok first.” She said, sliding you The knife and garlic, before her eyes traveled back to the bucket that was filled with water. You nodded your head and lined up the garlic with your knife, mincing it slowly.

You saw the white haired girl shifting from the sink and taking out the green onions from the plastic bag from the corner of your eyes, attention going back to her. It was funny, because whatever you’re doing brought your eyes back to Jett, just like a magnet looking for its other side. She grabbed a knife before standing next to you, chopping the onions twice as fast than your pace.

Her focused breathing, her eyes pinned to her hand’s movement all attracted your eyes. Her lashes seemed to glow under the light, complimenting her eyes. Her brows were knitted with concentration, as she brought a hand to tuck her silver strand of hair back to her ear.

“Ouch!” You winced as a sharp pain shot your finger, and before you realize it, your lover’s eyes locked with yours, concern flooding her eyes. You quickly hid your finger behind you, trying to not concern the girl. But that was no use, because her eyes were faster than your hand, and you knew the injury couldn’t be hidden.

With a sigh, you brought your hand back, seeing the blood beading on the injury. You saw the way her mood dropped from the sight of it, and it dropped your mood, too, to see your lover sad.

“You should’ve been careful! Didn’t I tell you to not get your eye off the knife last time?” She frowned, already searching for the first aid bag, holding your hand carefully. “I couldn’t help it,” You bit your lips, massive influx of guilt overcoming your mind. “You were distracting me too much.”

You didn’t mean to say that. It just slipped out, and you cringed mentally at the cheesiness of it. But you saw the way Jett lowered her head, her ears going red. Clearly, the cheesy line worked, and you chuckled to yourself when she dropped her head onto your chest.

“You and your corny words.” She mumbled, before snapping her head back up. tiny strands of hair framed her face, and there were still a hint of pink left on her cheeks. She pushed you away suddenly, and backed up until her back hit the wall.

You looked at her questionably, before realizing what’s going on. Your finger has already been wrapped by a bandage, and you could only guess your lover did it without you noticing.

“You’re going to stay there from now on! I’m not going to go there and distract you anymore.” She shouted, before furiously chopping the leftover onions. You only laughed before mincing away.

At the end, the soup was made, and she finally allowed you to close the distance that had once felt too long. She took the pot to the table and sat on the chair beside you, before taking the soup on the spoon she took from your hands, and bringing it to her own lips. Her eyes seemed to light up as she bemoaned from the taste.

“This is so good! Wait until phoenix tastes this masterpiece!” You let out a laugh and tasted it yourself, humming in agreement. Indeed, the soup was very good, and it was worth the small injury you got from the process.

“Thanks for helping me babe! I really appreciate it. And..” She looked around, as if to check if anyone was watching and before you knew it, her lips found your cheek. “Let’s eat it before it gets cold, yeah?” She said after pulling away, her gaze turning back to the soup.

“I thought we’re going to eat it with the rest of the team?”

“Forget about them.”
