Chapter 1: Not Her, Just Us

Chapter Text

Sasuke was beyond happy - no. 'Happy' was too simple of a word to describe how he felt. Elated? Ecstatic? Overjoyed? Well, whatever it was, he felt as if a cannon had let loose, shattering the emotionless facade he wore on a daily basis. His cheeks hurt with how much he's been smiling - if you consider the small tilt of his lips smiling - since Tsunade confirmed Naruto's pregnancy.

He had always belittled Naruto's Sexy Technique, stating how useless it was, but now, he could literally kiss the thing. Since Naruto wasn't an omega, he couldn't conceive normally. But by using his female form, they were able to put a bun in the oven. Three, actually. Sasuke was quite proud of himself when he heard that tidbit of news, though he had an inkling that Kurama had something to do with that.

One word: litter.

The first few months of Naruto's pregnancy weren't too bad. Naruto didn't have severe morning sickness, nor any crazy food cravings. Thank goodness. Sasuke didn't have to witness the horrors of mixing chocolate ice cream with relish and asparagus. He's heard nightmarish stories from Sai and Ino - the first of their friends to become pregnant. Sakura said similar things when she became pregnant with Lee's child.

By far, Temari had it the worst when she became pregnant with Shikamaru's child. She had taken to living in the bathroom for months. Shikamaru had to take an indefinite amount of time off from work so he could care for his wife. In the meantime, Sasuke had to take care of Shikamaru's daunting work as the Hokage's secretary and advisor.

When it was their turn to share the news, their friends took it in stride, celebrating with non-alcoholic drinks. As the group of friends caught up with each other, talk about children became a hot topic, especially toward those without children. Tenten and Neji, although married, weren't trying for children at the moment. Shino and Kiba couldn't conceive kids, being alpha and beta males respectively, but they had many dogs and Shino's bugs to call their children. Choji then surprised them with news of Karui's pregnancy. She was further along than Naruto, leaving the Hokage to be the newest mom amongst the group.

And after 9 long months of pregnancy-induced stress, Naruto was going into labor. Tsunade, Shizune, and Sakura were by his side, helping the female-turned Hokage give birth. Naruto was cursing up a storm, screaming profanity after profanity as he crushed his spouse's hand within his grip. Sasuke could only grin and bear the pain, softly reassuring Naruto that everything was all fine and dandy, sans his only remaining hand of course.

But it wasn't nearly as bad as the time Naruto nearly crushed his dick. That wasn't a memory Sasuke was willing to remember.

After what seemed like forever, Tsunade announced the arrivement of three healthy babies, two boys and a girl. The three medic-nins congratulated the newfound parents, warm smiles being exchanged all around. Shizune left to inform the guests waiting outside of the wondrous news.

Once the babies were swaddled in towels, Sakura asked, "Would you like to hold them?"

"Please," Naruto whispered, undoing his transformation and reverting to his original form. He sagged against the pillow, accepting Sasuke's kiss against his sweaty forehead.

Sakura gently placed the oldest triplet in Naruto's arms, and Naruto could only stare in awe as a Sasuke Mini-Me stared back at him. The only thing that wasn't Sasuke-like was the single blue eye that resembled Naruto's own.

"Hiromitsu," Naruto said, looking up at Sasuke for approval.

"A splendid name," Sasuke readily agreed. He leaned over Naruto's shoulder to get a good look at his firstborn. Hiromitsu squirmed, or at least attempted to, but his movements were halted by the powder blue blanket wrapped around him.

Afterward, Sakura carefully extracted Hiromitsu from Naruto's arms, giving the yawning baby to Sasuke for him to hold. Naruto chuckled at his husband's flabbergasted face as Hiromitsu seemingly winked at him.

"Here, Naruto." As his little girl was placed in his arms, Naruto startled at his daughter's appearance. Her fiery red was the first thing that caught his attention, and he knew exactly where she got her hair from: the Uzumaki Clan. Naruto wanted to cry, but he held back his tears as he smiled lovingly at his daughter. Her blue eyes twinkled as she giggled, and Naruto could feel his heart soar.

"Sasuke. Sasuke, look!" Naruto urged, drawing his husband's attention. Sasuke's visible eye widened at his second born's appearance, and for a second, Naruto thought Sasuke was going to be upset. Honestly, he should've known better. Whether Sasuke admitted it or not, he became a sap beneath the aloof Uchiha mask.

"She's beautiful," Sasuke assured. His smile never waned, only growing bigger if anything. The only other time he had smiled so much was at his and Naruto's wedding - if he ignored the omega homewrecker wannabe, Hinata. But not even she could diminish the happiness he felt when they exchanged vows and shared a kiss, sealing the deal in front of all their close friends. Sasuke made sure to thoroughly kiss Naruto, claiming him in hopes she got the message, but alas, it wasn't so.

Even after that incident at the restaurant, he felt someone stalking them on more than one occasion. Even though Hinata tried to hide her presence, Sasuke had honed his senses through many battles, and he knew she was, without a doubt, there. Sasuke considered himself a patient man, more so than Naruto at least, yet her behavior had irked him past his limits. Hence why, he coerced both Sakura and Tsunade, to have a 'talk' with her.

"Oi, bastard!" Sasuke was fished from his musings by a frowning Naruto. Oh, no.

"Apologies. I was reminiscing about our wedding day," Sasuke murmured, telling the truth. But Naruto didn't need to know why Hinata was never to be seen again.

"Well, okay," Naruto huffed, conceding. A light blush dusted his cheeks before his eyes sparkled. "What should we name her?"

"Kanna," Sasuke immediately responded. Naruto nodded, soundlessly saying her new name as he stroked her head. He gently handed her off to Sasuke before taking their youngest into his arms. The second the baby was in Naruto's embrace, he stopped fussing.

His hair color resembled Naruto's golden locks, but his eyes were dark as coals. His chubby cheeks were absolutely adorable, and Naruto belatedly realized his son's skin was tanner than his siblings. A fond smile graced his lips at the thought.

"Hayato." Both Sasuke and Naruto looked at each other in amazement, having said the same name in unison. Amusement flickered in their eyes before Hayato began crying. Naruto instinctively rocked his child against his chest, whispering gentle nothingness to soothe the youngest Uchiha.

As Tsunade and Sakura changed the sheets and cleaned up what they could, the door rattled open as Kiba peeked his head inside.

"Naruto!" he whisper-shouted, practically running over to the bed to see his niece and nephews. "They're so effing adorable!" He had the mind to censor himself even as he gushed over the babies. Not long after, their friends came in a few at a time so as to not startle the babies. Once everyone had their turn doting on the children, they were ushered out of the room to give the newborns and their parents some rest.

"Get some rest, Naruto," Sasuke instructed. "I'll be right here when you wake up."

"You're getting in this bed with me, Sasuke!" Naruto hissed petulantly, scooting over to make what little room he could. "We've both been up since 1 o' clock in the morning; you must be tired too. And I'd rather sleep next to you." The last bit was muffled as Naruto buried his head in his arms, but Sasuke heard it clear as day.

And Sasuke couldn't argue with that. Taking his cloak off, he slipped in beside Naruto. Both of them had to lay on their sides in order to fit comfortably, but neither alpha minded because like this, they could get lost in each other's eyes. Their limbs naturally intertwined, drawing them even closer until their noses were brushing together.

"I can't express how happy I am," Naruto whispered, bringing his bandaged hand up to cup Sasuke's face.

"That makes the two of us," Sasuke responded.

"Good night, Sasuke."

"Sleep well, Naruto."

Both men fell into a deep, peaceful slumber, small smiles playing at their lips.

'Welcome to the world, Hiromitsu. Kanna. Hayato.'
