"How long as it been since... Both Sephy and Cloud have been getting along?" Arusu, commonly known as Erdrick, questioned to a certain spiky brunette boy.
"Oh! A month ago, wasn't it?" Sora said while giggling a little. "It was when I finally joined Smash and after you told me they both... Team up and beat you up over a bet."
"And after that they seem to be together all the time!" Arusu said loudly to Sora. They are both sitting outside of a cafe in the Smash Castle town, sheltered by trees from the afternoon sun.
"It makes me feel like they are dating... They got along too well and too fast..." Arusu said, slumped down on his seat.
"Now, now, Aru, I'm actually happy that they are in a healthy friendship now! Congrats!" Sora said while clapping his hands briefly. "But, I don't want to push them when they are already in a happy friendship." Sora says, while looking at their table with drinks on them.
"Well if that ever happens, that will be quite a shocker, don't you think?" Arusu said while turning his head towards Sora. He nodded. "But again, they got along too fast... It's like they've been faking Cloud's hatred towards Sephiroth for 10 months only for them to both team up and beat me? Was thaT ALL JUST A PLOY TO BEAT ME???" As Arusu has his hands on his head, having a breakdown, Sora laughs and pats his shoulder.
"As much as I enjoy your conspiracy theories, I don't think they would plan something for that long period of time," Sora chuckles. "But I remembered what they said when we finally have that catch up talk, they said they've both been in the same universes other than their own, my universe, and Smash. It makes me think they actually somehow snatched a Paopu fruit." Sora lays his elbow on the table and rest his head on his hand. His eyes drifted away from Arusu towards two people in the distance. "Isn't that both of them over there?" Sora gestured his hand to point at the two walking by.
Cloud and Sephiroth were spending their afternoon together as usual. After what they both did to Arusu and Sora's arrival they both been inseparable, only been apart when one of both of them are busy with friends or other things.
Sephiroth is wearing his usual casual clothing when they are not in battle, dull purple jacket with his zipper half zipped to reveal some of his muscular chest and his normal tight black trousers and boots with a high ponytail. He also got a simple black choker on his neck with a silver buckle and bracelets on both arms that are similar to the cuffs on his normal general outfit.
Cloud on the other hand now wears a sleeveless dark blue turtleneck While wearing an open black jacket with baggy pants. They both stopped after Sephiroth noticed his friends waving at him.
"Hey!!" Mythra, waving her arms around shouted to get their attention. "Hanging out together as usual?" Her arms are now on the table once they looked towards her derection. Sephiroth gives a smile while Cloud nods slowly.
"You two cuties seem like you've been having fun, what are you gonna do together?" Bayonetta Chimes in while sitting next to Mythra.
Cloud scratches his head, "We were heading back to the castle after visiting our own world." They had just wanted to reunite with Cloud's old friends again.
"Ahh, how fun," Bayonetta said teasingly. "How'd they react to your new found relationship?" She continues as she puts her hand on her mouth, hiding her smirk.
"They were a little cautious around me at first but they seem to be okay with it afterwards. They were also shocked of how me and Cloud got to be friends." Sephiroth replied, though Cloud on the other hand gets a little tensed up after hearing the word 'relationship'.
"It's not a relationship, Bayo. We are just friends." Cloud said while crossing his arms. Sephiroth looked over to see that Cloud is blushing a little bit.
"Mmhm, yeah, alright, very close friends," Mythra said teasingly, "And you can't seem to be separated from each other?" She continued. Sephiroth chuckles, Cloud rolls his eyes and admits. "Fine, I'll admit, we do hang out a lot. And it's nice being together after all the time that I tried to avoid Sephiroth for 10 months," Sephiroth eyes widen after what Cloud said. "I wanna repay for all the missed opportunities and moments I have with him now."
"... That is so sweet." Bayonetta said softly.
"... It's nice having you around too, Cloud." Sephiroth chimes in quietly as he smiles over to Cloud. Cloud face turns redder after all that is said for the two of them.
"Hey, Seph?" Mythra spoke out, "Pyra wants to make some food for the roster tomorrow, she specifically asked you if you wanna cut some fruits like pears with me? Y'know... Photon Edge and Octoslash combo style?" Mythra offered as she does some finger gun gestures to Sephiroth.
"Sounds interesting," Sephiroth says with a smile, "Sure. It's been a while since we teamed up on something."
"Great! Hope you can arrive at 2 tomorrow!"
After that they wave their goodbyes and left. They were gonna go back inside the castle as Cloud says. They walked through the castle town, having small chit-chat along the way as both of them point towards areas that they would hang out next if they decide to do that. As they reach the front gate of the castle entrance, Cloud seems like he changed his mind on going in. He holds Sephiroth's hand as he leads him somewhere else.
"Cloud? Why are you leading me elsewhere?" Sephiroth questioned Cloud as he is dragging him in a slightly quick pace. But he didn't answer. The sounds of the town becomes quieter as Cloud leads him to the castle courtyard behind the castle, with its shadow casting a huge Area around them.
Cloud finaly let go of his hand and leans in on the castle wall. Before Sephiroth could speak he was cut off by Cloud speaking first.
"Sephiroth. Tell me something." Cloud spoke up, "What do you think about me?" Cloud asked Sephiroth. Sephiroth, bewildered, tries to answer honestly. "What I think about you...?" He thinks for a moment on what he's going to say.
"Cloud, I think you're a great person and a phenomenal fighter. Even when you fight alone your skill is unmatched against many. You have even bested me in multiple battles." Sephiroth said in response.
Cloud did listen and he smiled a little, "Thank you. Now..." He said now standing up straight. "How do you really feel about me, Sephiroth?" Now Cloud has said the question he has been waiting to ask.
... Feel? Cloud noticed Sephiroth's eyes widen a bit.
"Cloud I..."
Sephiroth himself needed a moment to think carefully on his words.
"... I like you, Cloud. I like you a lot." Sephiroth finally confessed, and a slight blush formed on his face. "Ever since we settled our differences a month ago, I cherish every moment we spend together." He continues. "And even it's already been abyear since I've been here, it all still feels foreign to me and you are the only one that I was still be able to attach to."
Sephiroth wants to continue on what he was gonna say but he noticed Cloud was walking up to him, and getting really close. The slight blush has become even noticeable as he looks down with his emerald eyes met Cloud's aquamarine eyes.
"Cloud?" Sephiroth's voice trembled a bit as their bodies are practically touching each other.
"You've already said enough to confirm what I'm going to do next." Cloud said with a devious smile. He then tugs down on his jacket linings and smash their lips together. Cloud has his eyes shut while Sephiroth is still processing on what just happened. The kiss lasted for a good while and in that time Sephiroth's body melts and wraps his arms onto Cloud's body as he finally closes his eyes too.
Soon after, they both stepped back slowly with both faces being redden with blush, Cloud having a goofy smile on his face and Sephiroth's mind still needs to process what just happened. Cloud giggles a little as he looks both ways to see if anyone saw what just happened.
"I know, it's insane how it's only been a month since we been together and now we've kissed. But I'm glad that you feel the same way." Cloud spoke up.
It still silence from Sephiroth and Cloud begins to awkwardly laugh a little. "Hey, speak up...!" He said shyly as he places his hand on Sephiroth's arm, who was still placed on his shoulder.
Well then, Sephiroth did respond, but through actions. He pulled Cloud into a hug, Sephiroth wanted it to be tight but he knew that it could hurt Cloud.
"I just can't get enough of you, Cloud." Sephiroth finally spoke. Cloud smiles as he rubs his hand on his back. "Heh, really?" Cloud says playfully. "Yes, really."
As Sephiroth pulls back slowly, he rubs his eyes with his hand for a moment that surprises cloud a little. "Hey, hey, Seph? It's alright! I'm not going anywhere." Cloud soothes. "I know. It's so nice to have someone that cares a lot about you." He looks at Cloud with slightly watery eyes. "I never felt this kind of affection before and..." His eyes gets a bit emotional but Cloud wipes it with his thumb.
"Thank you for accepting me, Cloud."
"You're welcome. And I'm glad that we ended up like this too." They both smiled and hugged each other once more.
They both stand there in silence, they weren't uncomfortable since being so close together is all their needs of comfort.
Suddenly Cloud decided to speak up after the long silence.
"So I guess that means we're dating now." Cloud said playfully and laugh afterwards.
"Yes, dating..." Sephiroth said shyly as he looks to his sides.
"Cloud, I'll be honest with you, I do not know what to do next." Sephiroth covers his mouth as his face grew redder, Cloud laughs it off.
"It's okay! It's basically friends but more, to put it simply." Cloud said to reassure Sephiroth. Who knew that Sephiroth secretly is a nervous softie underneath that facade. They both chuckled afterwards.
After a while, Sephiroth decided to ask a question again, but it's more meaningful. "Cloud, do you want this thing we have to be public? Do you want them to know that we are dating? I'm asking you to see if your okay with this." He puts his hand on Cloud's shoulders. Cloud thinks for a moment.
"Well... We won't say that we're dating but let's y'know... Give them hints? It'll be a treat to see their reactions." Cloud winks and giggles, Sephiroth smiles a little afterwards.
Soon after, they finally decided to walk back to the castle entrance and soon, they are already walking along the castle's hallways.
"So after your thing with Mythra tomorrow, will you be able to hang out?"
"I'm sure we can, they will serve drinks and food after we're done. Probably around 15 to 30 minutes since we're serving more than 80 people and plus the refilling of the drinks..."
"Gaia, now that I think of it, even people from other worlds will also be joining," Cloud scratches the back of his head chucking awkwardly. "Are you really sure you can join me on our first date?"
"Well of course I can— w-wait did you say date?" Sephiroth stumbles on his words as he looks down to Cloud. He gave a smug smirk to Sephiroth.
"Well that makes things a little interesting..." Sephiroth said as he scratched his head while blushing a little. Cloud stops his tracks and hugs on Sephiroth's sleeve, "Seph, it's fine. You don't need to be so worried about anything that happens." Cloud reassures. "Nothing can't always be perfect, besides, you're supposed to be a super soldier devoid of all emotions yet you stutter at the mere mention of a date."Cloud teases as he chuckles a bit. "You're the one who made me like this, Cloud!"Sephiroth lashes out at Cloud as his face grew even redder with blush, Cloud just laughs even more.
As Cloud calms down and regains himself, he spoke once more. "Hah... Goodnight Seph. It's getting late." Cloud exhales as he turns to look at the corridor where his room is at. As he began walking towards his destination, Sephiroth abruptly both holds Cloud's hands with his letting Cloud have his attention once more. "I know this is quite abrupt, but I appreciate you for being with me like this."
Sephiroth smiles as Cloud smiles back. "I appreciate you too, but I don't think we should be like this for too long here, besides if anyone or even Arusu saw us, he would explode." Cloud giggles and looks around. Sephiroth nodded as he lets go of his hand. They smiled at each other as they turned around to go their separate ways. While walking through the corridor, Cloud heard feathers rustling behind him and assumes Sephiroth had flown off through the castle's large windows to his own room.
Cloud steps into his room, feeling the cold breeze of the room's air conditioner building up by the time he was outside. He took off his boots, took off his jacket and hanged it on the coat hanger and finally jumped onto the bed, ready to sleep for the day.
He lays there, staring at the ceiling, smiling as he slowly closed his eyes.
Until realization hits him like a truck, yeah, Cloud did kissed his life long nemesis and is now dating him. And with the added knowledge that he feels the same way and is actually pretty awkward when it comes to this stuff.
Well now after that short shock of realization over, Cloud lays on his side smiling again on what's to come tomorrow as he slowly dozed off.
