The Uzumaki and Uchiha families had gathered at one banquet that night, Shikamaru had managed to reschedule a couple of appointments, and Naruto could finally spend time with his family and companions.
As they talked, they were enjoying a new recipe from Hinata. Himawari wanted to hear the story of his Father and Mother's marriage for the hundredth time, and that was the topic of the entire first meal.
Sakura noticed that Boruto had been staring at his fork with a lost look for at least 5 minutes with a piece of food on it.
"Are you okay, Boruto?" Sakura inquired, concerned. The boy's response, "I was just thinking about something," drew the attention of the table.
"YOU are THINKING about something? That’s new, " Sarada spoke. ”And what would you be currently considering?”
“If I were to start a family, my last name would be transferred to my wife, correct?” he chewed. “But what if I marry Sarada? What about a future child? Whose surname would it be?"
Sarada wanted to commit suicide as she sank deeper into the chair of the dining room. What kind of thought was in Boruto’s mind?
She should never have asked the question in the first place.
Her curiosity was going to kill her one of these days; she had turned bright red and began to binge eat in order to avoid talking.
"But, since the Uchiha are a powerful clan, does that mean I'll become a Uchiha? What about Uzumaki, though?" remained Boruto
"Boruto, it appears you've been thinking about this for some time, eh? Would you like to ask for my daughter's hand in marriage?" Sakura exclaimed with laughter
"I've actually been thinking about it a lot." Boruto expressed himself without responding to Sakura's question.
"A l-lot?" Sarada was shocked.
"I mean, isn't Uzumaki a pretty powerful Clan too?" he asked, turning to face his father, who nodded.
"So, if I end up marrying Sarada..." he sighed, "Uzumaki Sarada?" he rubbed his chin, "well, that doesn't sound bad."
Sarada was on her eleventh piece of sushi that she had found on the table. She had decided that If she hadn't died earlier from drowning herself in food, she would have taught the boy a lesson.
Boruto brightened. "YOU KNOW WHAT SOUNDS EVEN BETTER?" he asked, waiting for a response.
"What?" Hinata inquired, amused.
"Uchiha Boruto, 'ttebasa!!" he yelled, slamming his hands on the table.
"So you don't have any brain cells, and the only ones you have are for thinking about marrying MY Daughter?" Sasuke was quite irritated "Only because Boruto Uchiha sounds cool?"
Boruto continues to eat, and he alternates between one bite and the other. "I mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with Sarada; she could be the perfect wife, making me a perfect copy of the Special Thunder Burger every dinner," he said dreamily. "And she's a fantastic ninja, even better than me! After all, as long as she's happy, I don't mind having another Hokage in the family."
“Don't be all worked up on things that will never happen, you are not marrying my daughter!” Sasuke said, hoping to put an end to the argument.
“I thought you were a supportive dad, Sasuke Sensei... why aren't you agreeing with Sarada’s request to marry me”
“Since when I asked to marry YOU?” Sarada stated as she recovered from her trance.
“I agree with the marriage, my child would look beautiful with a wedding Kimono,” Sakura said with a dreamy voice.
"As long as they're happy" Naruto agreed too.
"That means Sarada would be my big sister!"
"I like the idea," Hima remarked, smiling.
"ARE YOU ALL TURNING YOUR BACKS ON ME?" she screamed angrily.
Kawaki descended the stairs and took a seat next to Hinata, who had welcomed him with
"Kawaki, you finally decided to join. I hope the meal is to your liking."
Sasuke, who hadn't stopped picturing Sarada as a married woman, had a flash of her and Kawaki getting married, which was far worse than Boruto.
He nearly liked the idea of Boruto as his son-in-law since he trusted him and knew he wouldn't hurt Sarada. He was his only student after all…
"I agree with your marriage, Boruto."
“PAPA! ARE YOU JOINING THEM TOO?"
