"What's up Zar?" Paris questions, curious as to why her best friend Zaria has asked her to meet her by their favorite tree. The tree is huge, and right in the middle of camp. But it's dark out now and it's unique shape that Paris likes to admire is masked by the darkness.
Paris comes to a stop once she finally becomes in closer range the tree, finally smiling as her dim flashlight that's on the verge of dying shines on her raven haired best friend. A telescope sits next to the girl, and as Paris gets closer she can smell fresh magic bars. The familiar smell of Chocolate and butterscotch chips, coconut, pecans, and graham crackers bringing even more of a smile to the blondes face as she finally plops down on the grass next to the telescope. She doesn't even ask before snatching a magic bar from the plate, which she regrets a few seconds later when she burns her tongue. Zaria laughs but hands Paris a cold water bottle as the blonde dramatically blows on the dessert before taking another bite.
Paris points out every constellation she spots, excited to inform Zaria on every single one. Zaria doesn't learn much from the conversation, she's mostly just shocked by how her friend keeps all of this information inside of her head. Sure, they were thirteen, of course they could remember complicated things. But sometimes Zaria still struggled to remember if her mom asked her to do the dishes or not. She doubted Paris had the same struggle.
Paris breaks the second to last magic bar in half, handing the bigger half of the two to Zaria. It's definitely not some huge gesture, but Zaria appreciates it nonetheless. "Thanks" Zaria says "you know we're definitely getting in trouble for stealing these from the kitchen. Right?" Paris questions, just now realizing the consequences to her best friends actions. "I know" Zaria replies "it's worth it though" Zaria adds with a smile.
And it was worth it. Really. Because of all the stars in the sky, the brightest star lay right next to her trying to casually sneak another magic bar from the almost empty plate. She tries not to laugh at this, all of it. Because she's not usually the romantic date type. Was this a date? Had Zaria even asked if this was a date? She'd planed this whole thing, looking at the constellations, magic bars, and she didn't know if Paris also considered a date! This was an embarrassing realization for Zaria to come to.
"It's a date" Paris says giggling
Did she say that out loud?
"Yes, you said it out loud" Paris says when she sees the embarrassed look on Zaria's face.
"I like you a lot, Zaria" Paris says when they reach cabin 15s door. She says like it's a new realization. It deffinetly isn't, not for eitjer of them.
"I like you too nerd" Zaria says a goofy smile plastered on her face before she disappears behind the door, watching the blonde skip away before shutting cabin 15s door.
