Work Text:
"Albedo! Welcome back from Inazuma" Kaeya greeted the man
"Well thank you Sir Kaeya" Albedo said and bowed his head lightly
"Ah, I see. Klee seems tired from the long journey. I was hoping she'd tell me about what happened there" disappointment was hinted in his tone
"Why not ask me instead?" He asked as he carried his sleeping sister on their way home
Kaeya was taken a back but he composed himself easily "Oh. Well are you in for a chat then? Perhaps, you can draw me while we're at it too" he chuckled "Not the three strokes though"
Albedo smiled slightly "That's how I always draw you. If I knew you don't like it, I wouldn't have given those masterpieces to you"
"I appreciate your works. I even had those framed my dear alchemist" Kaeya said with a mischievous smile. A smile that Albedo likes to stare at "I did that as a token of my love for you"
The blonde scoffed "You can stop joking now. We've arrived home. Thanks for escorting us back Kaeya"
"You're welcome Albedo" He said softly which made Albedo want to fall on his knees at the very moment
"I'll see you later at windrise then?"
"Yes? Oh yes! I'll see you later at 5. You have stories to tell me" The cavalry captain looked and sounds excited as he hurried away from the alchemist
Albedo smiled as he closed the door "How cute"
----
"Sit still Kaeya" Albedo demanded
"Oh sorry... I'm just um nervous"
"And why is that?"
"Well, this is the first time you'll draw me without using the three strokes method" he shyly said
"And why do you think I won't draw you today using the same method?"
"Well because you asked me to pose?"
"Haven't I always ask you to pose whenever I draw you?"
Kaeya pouted "Okay fine whatever. Do as you please my chief alchemist"
Albedo scoffed "Why do you always put 'my' every time you say chief alchemist, Kaeya?"
The man grinned "Because I like you"
"How bold. Don't joke like that ever again" Albedo said, looking at the scenery and then his sketchbook
"I'm not joking Albedo. I am being honest. I like you, for real. Why the hell would you even think I'm joking?" Kaeya's brows met, he's staring intensely at the man who's still sketching
"Because you've always done this with almost everyone" Albedo said calmly, not even batting an eye at his model
"I was a flirt I admit but I have never done this to anyone. Only to you because you're special to me" He explained "I will keep telling you how much I like you until you accept my love"
"You don't have to do that. You're just wasting your time on me"
"Albedo-"
"I am not worthy of the love you're trying to show me. I know this is a bet between you and your buddies so you can stop now" Albedo was still calm as he said those lines
But Kaeya isn't. He stood up and walked towards Albedo. He then grabs the sketch book and kneeled down for their eyes to meet
"You are more than worthy. Albedo I am inlove with you, this isn't a bet or anything. I love you, I always have, ever since I laid my eyes on you. I thought of it as a mere crush but as we got closer, I then realized that I have fallen for you" Kaeya declared, not taking his eyes off the flushed alchemist
Before Kaeya could say anything again, Albedo grabbed Kaeya's face and pushed him away lightly. He stood up, grabbed the sketch book from Kaeya and tears the page where he just drew another 3 strokes of Kaeya and gave it to the man who's just looking at him with visible sadness in his eyes
"Is this rejection?" The man asked
"You want me to draw you right? Not using the 3-strokes method, yes??" He asked and Kaeya nodded "Then I shall draw you without using that method if I fall inlove with you"
Kaeya's eyes lit up, he was happy that he wasn't rejected, it was something even better. He can charm his way to Albedo's heart
"Then, I shall take my leave" Albedo said as he started running away from the man. He didn't even look back
It was because he's a mess. A blushing mess. He was walking-running-walking his way towards his home. He's panicking, it's the first time he heard of such words. Ofcourse he is flustered, who wouldn't be?
When he arrived home, he slammed the door closed and instantly fell on his knees, his heart is still pounding. He dropped his sketchbook on the floor and then started scanning it
There, he saw his Kaeya sketches. A beautifully drawn Cavalry Captain and it isn't just one drawing, there's a lot of it. Infact, his sketchbook is full of beautiful drawn portraits of Kaeya Alberich.
---
When Kaeya arrived at his office, he saw a neatly wrapped package. He was confused ofcourse. He didn't remember ordering anything. He decided to give it to Jean because it might be delivered to the wrong place but he saw his name written on it
He was wary of the package. It might be something dangerous but at the same time, he is curious. He stared at it for a long minute before deciding to open it.
He took a cutter from his drawer and gently opened the package and what he saw shocked him.
It is not a threat or something dangerous. It's something much better. It's a framed sketch of him. And it's beautiful drawn. He stared at it, it was the most beautiful drawing of him that he's ever seen
As a man with common sense, it would be natural for people to look at the back of the frame, it's what most people usually do so he did too. There was a note plastered behind the frame and it says:
Dear Kaeya,
I love you too. I always have
Your's truly,
Albedo
