Work Text:

Ladybug’s transformation faded away as she was falling. Without thinking, Chat left the Akuma in order to catch her.
- Got you, M’Lady – he said in a silky voice.
Marinette hid her face on his chest (….)
Once they got to her room, Marinette finally said something.
- Sorry I disappointed you
- What? I’m not disappointed, I’m the luckiest person alive, even luckier than you -. He chuckled.
- Why would you say so? – She asked not daring look at him.
- Well, as you know I’ve been in love with Ladybug for a long time – he said with a smile-. But, you’ll see, lately I’ve been crushing on this amazing, talented, sweet girl. And I’ve been fighting myself because of that, since you are not supposed to love two different people, right? But I don’t have to do that anymore, because these two people are the same.
Marinette’s eyes went wide when she heard his confession. His eyes were sparkling, and he was smiling. It was the sweetest smile she’d ever seen.
- You were crushing on me? Marinette me?
- Yes, for a long time. You can ask Plagg about it.
Marinette chuckled. No doubt Plagg must’ve had a strong opinion on the matter.
- I’m flattered, Chat. But…
- I know – he simply said-. There’s another boy. Remember how I just said I was the luckiest person alive? Well, I take that back.
Chat sighed and Marinette cup his face with her hand.
- Sorry…
- Can I let you know who I am? – Chat asked suddenly.
She hesitated. It could be dangerous. For the first time, Tikki went out from her usual hiding place.
- Hi, Chat – She greeted-. Marinette, listen to him.
Then, she took one cookie and came back out of sight giving them some privacy.
- Well, I’m listening – Marinette shrugged
- I need you to know my identity, because we know each other – he adverted his eyes, afraid of her reaction-. And I’m not gonna be able to look at you each day and act like nothing. I’m in love with you, and I want a real chance with you. And that’s not possible unless you know who I am.
Marinette hadn’t been so nervous in her whole life. They knew each other? Out of the masks? She let him finish, because she knew it was important for him. But, as she nodded her head, not trusting her own voice, her hands were shaking. He noticed and took them in his owns, interlacing their fingers as he murmured “claws in”. Marinette closed her eyes as the green light engulfed him.
- Marinette, open your eyes -. His voice was so familiar.
She obliged and she could barely believe her own eyes, when she saw who was there, next to her, holding her hands.
- Hi – Adrien said with a shy smile. His voice trembling.
- You ARE the luckiest person alive! – Marinette laughed as she kissed him.
