So that's it than...you betrayed us." Your grip on your blades tightened as you stared at Shirasu. He was surprised to see you there. "y/n) please. don't get involved. You'll just get yourself killed." His voice was quiet.
A dark chuckled escaped your lips. "The man I fell in love with turns out to be the one behind all of this and plans on killing the boys that have become my family over the last 5 years and you dare to tell me not to get involved!? You expect me to just stand here and do nothing? I don't think so." There was venom in your voice.
Shirau looked at you with saddness in his eyes. He really did love you, that was one thing he never lied about. If he could he would choose to spend the rest of his life with you, but he had a goal to accomplish. One he has been waiting his whole like for and he wasn't going to let anyone get in the way of that. Not even you.
"Tell me, Shirasu...I just don't understand. Why, after all these years why would you still choose to turn your back on us?" Your voice was more gentle now.
"The Fuma are my family. Not you, and not the Kumo brothers. What's not the understand?" Shirasu replied.
You let a small smile form on your lips. "You can keep saying that all you want but I know it's not true. You love me and you care for the Kumo brothers. You can't lie to me, I know you better than you think." You said
His eyes narrowed a bit. "Oh? If you know me so well than how didn't you figure this out sooner. Surely for a warrior of your rank it wouldn't be much of a challenge."
"I did figure it out. You had been acting strange lately. Maybe not enough for anyone else to noice, but I knew. Especially when Botan showed up. You've always been suspicous of people but you went a little overboard with her. When I found out what she was..I realized what was happened but I-I didn't want to believe it."
You put your blades away and took a few steps closer to Shirasu. You knew he wouldn't hurt you if he didn't have to. "I will not hurt you. Don't think I won't kill every Fuma that crosses my path though. I'll take them down without feeling a thing and that includes your damn brother. You however, even if you tried to kill me I could never lay a hand on you." You averted your gaze to the ground. Your hand reached up to clutch the necklace hidden under your clothing. The chain just barely peeked out behind your collar.
When Shirasu noticed it his eyes widened. "Y-you still have it. Even after this your still wearing the necklace I gave to you. Why?" His heart ached at the memory.
*Flashback*
Shirasu was sitting outside watching Soramaru practice. "Hey, I made you some tea." You said as you sat down next to Shirasu. You gave him a light peck on the cheek as you handed his the warm beverage. "Thank you, (y/n)" He said as a small blush formed on his pale face.
"What's that?" You pointed to the small box that was in his hand. A loving smile graced his face when he looked at you. "I got you something." He opened the box to reveal a beautiful amethyst necklace. It matched the color of his eyes.
You stared at it in awe. "Come on, turn around so I can put it on you." You did as you were told and moved your hair out of the way. Once Shirasu placed it around your neck you turned around to face him once again. "Thank you so much. It's beautiful." You leaned up and kissed him on lips.
*end up flashback*
Without warning you run to Shirasu. Your hands tightly gripped the front of his shirt and you buried your face into his chest. "Because I love you! You idiot! Why can't you see how much I care about you!?" Tears were now flowing from your eyes. "Stop this! I-If you stop now no one will blame you. No one has to die. We can save Soramaru. Y-You can stay here with me and we can be happy. I know that's what you want, please.."
His hand reached out to touch you, but he stopped himself. He hated himself for making you feel this way. All he wanted to do was pull you close to his body. Tell you everything was going to be alright and that he would stay by yourside forever but he knew he couldn't do that. He waited all these years..he had already made it this far. There was no turning back now.
He grabbed both of your arms and gently pushed you away. "I'm sorry, (y/n). This is goodbye." And with those final words he disappeared into the trees. You stared into the direction he went. A small sad smile made it's way to your face and you wiped the tears from your face.
"Even after all you've done...I still love you."
