Chapter Text
It was weird being alone in the compound, but after almost a week Wanda started to get used to it. It wasn't that she hadn’t been alone while the others were on a mission before, but for some reason, it felt even more empty now.
She had been talking more to Vison lately, which had been nice. And both Pepper and Maria came occasionally to talk while going through their kitchen to hunt down something to eat. Even if Wanda didn’t know any of them very well it was nice to see them. To see anyone really.
Out of the two other women, Pepper was the one Wanda knew the most. Not only because they had been in New York together a few times, but she had gotten to spend some more time with Pepper after she found out that Natasha had called her earlier. That was also when Wanda found out Pepper knew about her and Natasha. And maybe that wouldn't have been an important detail if it hadn't been for the fact that Pepper was the only one in the compound that knew about her and Natasha.
The worst part about this entire thing was obviously being without Natasha. Wanda missed her a lot. She missed the company she got from the other woman. She liked her laugh, her smile, the way she would raise an eyebrow if she thought she was being stupid. She just liked every part of her.
Wanda had been spending a lot of time reading when she wasn't working out on her own. Laura had let her borrow a few books from her and Wanda found herself really loving all of them. Laura had also called her two times this week. One time with just her talking and another time when the whole family was there. Even if it was just a few days since she left them it was nice to talk to them again. It was nice that they cared this much.
She was currently a few hundred pages into a romance novel. A book about two young adults figuring out their lives while seemingly always crossing paths with one another. Both characters seemed to be madly in love with the other while constantly refusing to admit it or try to make it work.
Wanda lifted her head when she heard voices. It wasn't just a single one, it was multiple people walking in the hallway talking. She hadn’t heard voices like this in a while and her head spent a good few seconds to even register any noise at all.
Her eyes reacted before her brain really clicked that it was Steve walking in with Maria by his side, talking while she was writing something down on a tablet.
“Steve?!” Wanda's voice was surprised as she flew up from her chair after hurrying to put away the book on the table before she made her way over to the man.
“Hi, Wanda.” The man smiled at her calmly as she jogged over to the pair, not knowing what exactly she planned to do or say to the other man.
“I... I didn’t know… you… mean, I didn’t know you were… you were going to be home already, how was the mission?” Wanda knew she was absolutely not making any sense, but if Steve was home, did that mean Natasha was home? Did that mean she could see her again?
“It was pretty good, if you want to join us for dinner at around 9, we’ll tell you about it, I just need to finish some paperwork with Maria.” She could not have cared less about the mission, not even if she tried. It was nothing about it that was remotely interesting to her other than Natasha and their reunion.
Steve smiled at her as she nodded back quickly trying to keep it together just for a little while as they exchanged a few sentences. As much as she wanted to see Natasha, trying to behave somewhat normal was still in her interest to keep their growing relationship on the low.
“I think I'm going to look for the others then! I'll meet you at dinner!” Wanda smiled at them as the others continued into the room while she flew out the door trying very hard not to sprint down towards the door where Natasha's room was.
It was just around the corner, and while she absolutely could have been there 15 seconds ago if she had run the entire way there, it would seem really weird if she was literally sprinting down a hallway just to see Natasha.
Nobody here knew they were a thing yet, so nobody knew how much Wanda really liked and needed the woman either.
Okay, that was a lie, but none of the Avengers knew they were a thing. And to be fair, Pepper finding out just because she asked Laura, did not count, not that Wanda was planning on telling Natasha that detail. She didn’t want to seem like an idiot not being able to keep it together for like a week or so when Natasha didn’t want them to know… even if it was Natasha's fault that Pepper had asked Laura and not hers.
Truth be told, it was nothing Wanda wanted more than to tell everyone that Natasha was finally hers. She wanted everyone to know and see that Natasha was her girlfriend. She wanted to show her off… but she couldn’t… because Natasha wanted to keep it a secret…
It wasn't that she didn’t want to respect Natasha's wishes, and she did understand her concerns, but she also wanted to not feel like she had to hide it. Of course, she knew it wasn't that Natasha was ashamed of her, she was just scared if something were to happen… she knew that was why, she understood… it just hurt.
“Natasha?!” Wanda was already through Natasha's door before Natasha had time to let her in herself.
“Wanda?” Natasha was standing in her robe hanging loosely over her shoulder and her hair wet as Wanda threw herself around her neck making Natasha let out a small “oh” as she held her closer, hugging her softly back.
Wanda didn’t care Natasha was basically naked and just out of the shower. She literally couldn’t control herself as she pushed Natasha backwards making the woman groan as she hit the small platform up to her bed.
“Ow, at least watch where you push me,” Natasha said with a small laugh as Wanda got her up on the platform before backing her up against the bed.
“Why didn’t you come and get me when you got back? I've missed you, you know.” Wanda mumbled before kissing her softly, getting a small moan from Natasha as she fell down on the bed, making sure to yank Wanda's shirt collar to drag her down on top of her.
“Because I thought I could shower first so you didn't get me all sweaty and dirty. That also means you are not about to make me all hot and sweaty now - Wanda!” Natasha's voice cracked when Wanda kissed her neck softly, moving the robe away to reveal more of the woman underneath her.
“I’m sorry, I don't think I heard what you said,” Wanda said as she let a hand trail down Natasha's leg, groaning as Natasha moved under her, dirty images already blinding her as she continued to move on top of her.
“Wanda, I am not going to give you a second warning, you can't – oh my god-” Wanda smirked as Natasha arched her back while she continued to tease her softly, drawing out a small moan from the woman under her. Natasha was definitely more on the quiet side in bed, but now that she had gotten one sound out of her, nothing was stopping her to try and drag out some more.
“Warning? Natasha, I am pretty sure the only warning you are going to be able to give me is the treat that if I stop you will kill me.” Wanda purred softly into Natasha's ear before she purposely removed both of her hands from Natasha's body only kissing her softly, immediately feeling Natasha move under her to get her to go back to her previous actions.
“What do you say, darling, maybe hot and sweaty isn't so bad after all?” Wanda whispered low before moving her hand down between Natasha's legs again making the woman let out a very loud moan followed by a buck, surprising both of them so much Wanda couldn’t help her laugh looking at Natasha who seemed so shocked by her own reactions she was stunned.
It took almost two whole seconds before Natasha was able to collect herself growling low back at her before suddenly flipping them over
“You are in so much trouble!”
Wanda was lying on the bottom with Natasha curled on top of her, breathing softly as she let her play with her hair. Natasha's robe was somewhere on the floor along with Wanda's own top. Her pants and underwear were hanging off the end of the bed, not that any of them could care less.
It felt so right being with Natasha again now. Wanda har missed her so much and having her in her arms now was really what she needed.
“Steve wants me to join them for dinner later,” Wanda mumbled as Natasha shifted on top of her, moving her head to rest between her shoulder and neck.
“Yeah, I'm sure he does. But I don't feel like moving. Especially now that I need to shower again.” Natasha answered lazily back before moving her head so she could look at her. “But just so you know, I missed you too.” She added softly, kissing her carefully.
Wanda sighed around her as Natasha curled up again. “I don't think I'm going to move much more today,” Natasha mumbled and Wanda could feel her exhale slowly before they both started to drift off.
Wanda woke up when Natasha shifted on top of her, her head falling off her shoulder followed by a small noise. Some of Natasha's hair was on her face and she could feel Natasha's heart beating as continued to breathe softly in and out.
She didn’t have words for how much she had just missed being around Natasha. Just knowing and feeling her around was everything she needed. And being able to watch as the woman slept peacefully in her arms, it was like a dream.
“Friday, what time is it.” Wanda’s thought train got interrupted when she heard Natasha mumble low in her arms.
“It is quarter past twelve.”
Wanda let out a small laugh while Natasha shook her head with a small huff. “So much for dinner then.” Wanda laughed, feeling Natasha move on top of her, falling softly off her, landing beside her smiling lazily in her direction.
The cover that had been resting on top of them was now just barely covering Natasha's back and lower body, making Wanda's eyes wander down Natasha's body, knowing very well she was clearly staring.
“Well, I'm not going to defend you when Steve asks.” Natasha teased back softly. The woman looked at her lovingly before stretching her arms over her head, letting out a small catlike sound while she did so. The duvet fell off her as she moved to all fours, revealing Natasha's entire body. It wasn't the first time Wanda had seen her naked, not even close, and still, it was a view to die for.
Natasha's walls were so low they were basically gone. Natasha rarely seemed so relaxed as she did now, even closing her eyes as she moved to stretch her back as well, showing her vulnerable side, clearly trusting Wanda in the moment.
“He was only going to talk about the mission anyways, not that important.” Wanda tried to keep her voice as calm as possible, watching as Natasha continued to move and roll around on top of her king-sized bed like a kitten playing around in the sheets.
“Ah, doesn’t sound very fun then.” Natasha stopped moving as she turned toward her. Her eyes were shining as she talked looking at her with a soft smile before leaning forwards, falling with her entire upper body on top of Wanda again.
“Ow, what makes you constantly want to be on top of me.” Wanda scolded softly pretending this wasn't exactly what she wanted all along, letting her hand move over to Natasha's, hair, brushing it softly with her fingers thinking about she never had seen anything more perfect than Natasha simply resting her head on her stomach like this.
“I don't know, guess I just missed you. And I like this, being alone, where nobody can see us.” Natasha shrugged before moving her head carefully to look at her while she talked.
“Felt like you were constantly on my mind while I was gone. It started with just thinking about how I missed you but after a few days, it was all I could think about. Nothing specific it was just you and this constant feeling. And it’s not like I could tell anyone either… it was just this feeling inside.”
Wanda looked at Natasha when she closed her eyes with a sigh. She had thought about asking Natasha if maybe hiding their relationship was wrong. It had only been an idea, and not something she had been actually considering, but now it was clear what Natasha wanted.
Even if Wanda had been on her mind constantly, even distracting her in the field, she still didn’t want to tell Steve about it. It was no real reason for Wanda to even bring it up now. Maybe with time, it would change, but right now it just had to stay between them. No matter how wrong it felt inside, breaking that agreement would only hurt more than help.
“Other than apparently only being able to think about me, how was London?” Wanda tried with a light voice, feeling a very strong need to move the conversation away from the topic.
“It was okay. Wasn't a very interesting mission, guess we just hoped something would happen when it never did.” Natasha let out a small laugh before shaking her head.
“I've always wanted to go to London,” Wanda said thoughtfully, lifting her hand from Natasha's hair as the woman moved again.
“Ah well, it’s an okay city. Kinda a been there done that situation though. Wouldn’t want to go there for a holiday you know.” Natasha moved up to the headboard of the bed again, kissing her softly before she found herself in a comfortable position.
“I wouldn’t know, it’s not like I've been so.” Natasha laughed softly at her before leaning back and closing her eyes.
“Maybe one day I'll take you. Can run from life for a few days, just the two of us…. Wouldn’t that be nice…” Natasha's voice was empty and distant when she talked, smiling softly with a dreamy smile.
“Yeah…” Wanda's voice drifted as she continued to look at Natasha who was still smiling to herself, thinking she wanted nothing more than to know what was going through her head right now.
