A Simple Morning

Summary:

An average morning in the citadel, where an unnamed saniwa and a little fox are woken up.

Work Text:

“Saniwa? Your alarm. It’s ringing.”

The husky, still drowsy voice whispered into the ear of another, the smaller form of which still clung to the larger speaking one in bed. The persistent chirping of bells which produced constant rhythmic patterns that then developed into some sort of fake pop tune was becoming irritating.

The white haired, crimson eyed tachi frowned. Even half-awake, he knew the saniwa needed to wake up and perform the tasks necessary to keep time safe from the ones who would rewrite history for the worse. The universe needed the saniwa, just like he did.

But there the sword sage was, instead choosing to press his face against firm abdominal muscles and nuzzle a warm and inviting chest. The saniwa’s fingers ran through long, white locks that seemed barely fazed by a night of sleeping with a curious and very interested bedmate.

The saniwa peered up at the “little fox” through long black hair. With a deep inhale, exhale, and shudder, he smiled sleepily at Kogitsune who through his own heightened senses could detect a rising pulse and curious scent.

“Ah. Good morning, Kogi. I hope you slept well?” The saniwa’s question, much like his voice, was sweet and kind though not without other intentions. He relied on the tachi more than anyone to perform at the highest level and trusted him, on the battlefield and at the estate. Kogitsune could only smile as he brushed some of the dark strands away from the sage’s face and gently pressed his lips against the other’s forehead.

“Of course I did, though your hands traveled quite a bit throughout the night,” he responded warmly, smirking before pulling away and brushing his fingers over. “Who knew our sage had such a delicate touch?”

The saniwa blushed and looked away as Kogitsune anticipated. The tachi couldn’t help but chuckle at the reaction as the sage disabled the alarm quickly, fumbling with the still active alarm. The fox took that moment to yawn which lowered his defenses just enough.

He was surprised as the quick hands of the saniwa were placed upon a very sensitive spot. He inhaled sharply, feeling warmth spread in his cheeks… among other places.

“So what is on your agenda for today, hm?” He asked with restraint, swallowing. Chocolate colored orbs locked onto crimson ones, eyes and mouth smiling as one. The saniwa was cruel, watching his reaction as fingers traced lightly over a slowly growing issue.

“The usual. Breakfast, sortie planning, expedition planning… though I could try doing some personal repairs especially for you, my fox.” The sage’s smile grew, though he seemed distracted by a rising issue.

Kogitsune raised an eyebrow, but couldn’t help himself from purring suggestively as he pulled the saniwa close and held the sage’s hands firmly where they massaged.

“Breakfast can wait.”
