Summary:

In a galaxy so vast, why couldn't she run from her past and start anew? A bounty hunter and his curious little companion might just be the key but will that be ripped away before it even begins?

Chapter Text

* Starting with a small snippet :)

There are two things in this galaxy Nyla hates, being unprepared and being cold. Ironic that both of these things had hit her like a metric ton of neuranium. She sat shivering in the land speeder, considering herself lucky, at first, that it had been on the craft she stole. There was winter gear aboard also but no extra fuel pods. There was no luck to be found here.

The red indicator on the speeder's fuel gauge was creeping dangerously close to empty. She let out a dramatic groan, no one was around to hear it but she released it all the same. The fog from her breath gathering, rising, and dissipating on repeat. There was enough fuel to travel for another hour or two, but this frozen rock she landed on seemed void of life. It was all adding up to be very pointless. As she cut the engine, the unforgiving cold spilled in immediately.

“How can I have this many layers on and still be cold? No, you deserve this. You really thought a fresh start would be an option for someone like you?” She thought to herself.

She rummaged through the bag sitting next to her. There wasn't much to save from the craft she abandoned, but there was this, she held up a small vial with a thick black liquid in it. Not even light from the sun could pass through the opaque ooze. It was a way out. Freezing to death was not a fate she’d allow herself to succumb to, so this poison would do. Why she had such a thing in her possession was a long story. This was choosing how it ended. A nice thought but she never wanted to go out like this either. She gently opened the top and placed the rim of the vial to her lips. Just as she was about to throw the liquid back she hears the boom of a craft entering the atmosphere. She watched, in awe, as a craft, followed by a thick trail of black smoke, landed nearby. Not knowing what higher power to thank she quickly closed the vial and threw it back into the bag.

Was this speeder always this fast? She thought as she raced to the spot the craft crash landed. This was a gamble. She could be approaching any kind or number of criminal, mercenary, bloodthirsty creatures. But she knew, whoever or whatever was aboard this craft was her only salvation. She was going to die either way. Being gunned down wouldn't be a bad way to go. She always figured that’s how it would have to end for her one of these days.
