"Athena." Elaine called her friend into her office.
"Captain." Athena shut the door without needing to be asked.
"No need to look worried." Elaine told her. "I just wanted to let you know I'm glad you are taking some time off."
"I didn't know you were so excited to see me go Captain." Athena teased lightly. She knew what Elaine meant.
"I'm not sure I've seen you take more than a week off."
Athena nodded. "That's about as long as I can manage spending time in my mother's presence." Each summer Athena took the kids to see her parents in Florida. Oh course when she and Michael were married he went too.
"When's the last time you took a vacation though?"
Athena shrugged. "Michael and I never really seemed to want to go on vacation alone, now I see why that was. And let's not forget it's taken Bobby and I three years to take this homeymoon." Athena pointed out. "We've gone through quite a bit in our marriage. Six months in we were going to go away for the weekend, but a lawsuit kept that from happening, then my attack and the pandemic. We struggled to find ourselves after that, so we weren't really in a place where taking a vacation was plausible. Now we are finally doing it. Two weeks, just us, and I'm excited to take a vacation for the first time in years."
"Well I just wanted to say enjoy it, and we'll see you when you get back."
Athena smiled. "Thanks Captain." Athena left to clock out for the final time before vacation.
"Well well well." A voice said behind her.
Athena turned to see Rick and Lou.
"I didn't think I'd ever see the day Athena would take a vacation." Rick said.
"Are we sure she's feeling alright?" Lou teased.
"Ha ha!" Athena rolled her eyes.
"We just wanted to be sure it was actually happening." Rick hugged her.
"Well it is. Bobby and I leave in the morning." Athena told them. "Don't cause too much trouble while I'm gone."
"Us?" Lou looked shocked. "Never."
"Okay. Just so we are clear." Athena told them.
"Go." Rick smiled. "You deserve this Athena. So does Bobby."
"Thanks." She sighed. "This is it. I'm leaving." She walked out the door.
"You owe me twenty dollars." Lou reminded Rick of their bet.
"You'll get it tomorrow when we confirm she and Bobby actually make it on the cruise." Rick said. "There's still time for me to win this bet." Though Rick would happily relinquish twenty dollars in this case, Lou technically hadn't won the bet yet.

"Okay," Bobby faced his team. "This is it. Chim's going to be in charge until I get back. I don't want you causing any more headaches for Chief Alonzo while I'm gone." He glanced down at the truck bay. "And please, don't destroy another engine while I'm gone." He looked at Buck.
"Okay, the truck fell on me, how is that my fault?" He knew what Bobby was referring to.
"What?" Lucy asked.
"Bobby was on leave and the fire truck exploded and fell on my leg." Buck gave her the quick version.
"Oh yeah I remember seeing that on TV. Wasn't there a kid with a gun?"
"Yeah." Eddie said. Bobby sighed heavily getting their attention.
Buck turned back to Bobby after their little side conversation. "And technically this last one was kinda your fault Cap." Buck teased.
"Regardless of fault, I don't want to come back and have to explain to Chief Alonzo why we need another truck, copy?"
"Yes Cap." They all agreed.
"Okay." Bobby felt like that covered everything. "I'll see you all in two weeks."
"Athena." Bobby called out when he got home.
"Bedroom." Athena replied. She turned her phone towards him so she could see the kids.
"You leave tomorrow right?" May asked over facetime.
"First thing in the morning." Bobby said proudly. Out of sight of the camera he slid his arms around Athena's waist.
"Well have fun." May smiled.
"We love you." Athena told her kids.
"We love you too." May said.
"Bye!" Harry waved.
"Bye." Athena smiled and hung up.
As soon as she did Bobby's lips attached to her neck. His hands squeezed her sides. "Mrs. Nash." He whispered. "Two weeks of nothing but us."
"You know our vacation doesn't start until tomorrow." She teased but leaned into his touch.
"We've got a kid free home tonight. I think it starts now." Bobby countered pushing her shirt up over her head.
Athena turned in his arms. "Is that so?" Athena's hands rested on his chest. "Maybe we should mark the occasion." He teeth grazed against her neck.
"Oh you definitely want to mark something." Athena teased. Athena smirked and Bobby knew he was in for it. Athena sank to her knees ready to take her husband.

Bobby nodded. "Okay." He kissed her gently. "Two weeks of just Bobby and Athena."
"Mr. and Mrs. Nash." Athena added. "That's all we have to be." Now that it was the eve of their honeymoon, Athena was excited at what these two weeks would bring.
