Chapter Text
-3rd Grade -
"So...It doesn't count?" Anne mumbled as she gripped the bottom of her shirt and stared down at her bedroom carpet before flicking her head back up toward Sasha's gaze. She was only two feet in front of her, swaying back and forth on the balls of her feet, waiting for Anne's response.
"Of course not!" Sasha smirked. This was the best idea she ever had. "Kissing is a thing that only mommies and daddies and boyfriends and girlfriends do. So if two girls kiss it doesn't mean anything! It wouldn't count as our first kiss!! It's just practice!!! So when we do get boyfriends, we'll know what we're doing." Sasha didn't really know any boys she wanted to kiss at the moment. She did want to kiss Anne, but since girls can't date other girls (right?) she never had a reason to, until coming up with practice of course. Then all she had to do was wait for their usual sleepover and the chance to drive the conversation toward dating and kissing. Marcy noted that none of them have kissed anyone, so all Sasha had to do was casually mention her "practice" theory. All according to keikaku.
"I don't know... Does that make sense to you, Marcy?" Anne turned to look at her friend laying in a beanbag chair. Marcy had managed to pry herself away from her copy of Pokémon Black 2 (a feat not even running into a door could convince her to do) upon mention of her besties possibly kissing in front of her.
"I mean... it kinda does? When you put it like that... I guess." Marcy had absolutely no intention of stopping whatever this was.
"See!?" Sasha excitedly took Marcy's ambivalent support and turned to Anne "See!?" She still looked a little nervous.
"Well, if you both say so." Anne muttered. When Sasha heard that, all this felt less right all of a sudden.
"Hey, we don't have to if you don't wanna." Sasha forced out. Why was that so hard for her to say?
"No!" Anne said maybe a little too loud, surprising everyone, including herself. "I wanna do it." She meant that.
Sasha suddenly felt happier than she'd felt in her entire life. She began rubbing her hands together in a futile attempt to contain her joy. "mmmMMM...OKAY LET'S DO IT THEN." She clapped and shuffled forward to close the already small gap between her and her Boonchuy.
"Oh." Anne was surprised by how close Sasha was to her face. She'd never seen someone's face this up close before, but Sasha's not a bad pick for your first. Her azure blue eyes locked them both into a deep stare.
They broke the seal simultaneously as they closed their eyes and leaned forward. As they pressed their faces against each other and smushed their lips together, Sasha's sharp nose dug into the side of Anne's softer round one. What felt like millions of thought and feelings rushed in between their two flattened foreheads. 'Is this it? Am I doing it right? Am I supposed to suck? Am I supposed to blow?' Anne peeked with her right eye for half a second before closing it again. Then, after the world's longest 4 seconds, they pulled back and looked at each other. Then they looked at Marcy.
Marcy was looking at both of them with 100% of her eyes. "So...can I try next?"
"No!" It was Sasha's turn to be a bit too loud. "It was bad anyway. You wouldn't like it." Sasha lied almost instinctively. The idea of Marcy kissing Anne right after she did was out of the question. (Unbeknownst to her, Anne wasn't the one Marcy would have chosen.) However, she didn't recognize the collateral damage that statement could cause until it was too late.
"Yeah..." Anne scratched the back of her head through her thick hair. Sasha tried to gauge Anne's reaction to the kiss or what she had said afterward, but she couldn't. Anne was too good at hiding her real feelings.
"Oh, okay... Nevermind..." Marcy had a pang of disappointment in her voice as she slowly lowered her head to look back down at her 3DS. "OH MY GOD!" Pang immediately gone. "IS THAT A SHINY ABSOL!?"
"Dude really!?" "Holy crap!" Sasha and Anne jumped next to Marcy on the beanbag chair and stared into the tiny LED display at what turned out to be a totally normal Absol.
