Chapter Text

Asami had never thought she could become a warrior of light much less save the world from total destruction. Now times were quiet and the scions all but disbanded, it left her wondering what would happen next. Her thoughts often went back to a close companion who she had shamelessly fallen in love with. That red haired Miqo'te was always on her mind and she couldn't stand it any longer. He was there in her dreams, the same every night. After a month she had enough and needed to tell him face to face, but she needed some advice. Her first stop, Sharlayan.

Upon arriving every greeted her happily. After fighting off the crowd she rushed to the annex. There she found Krile taking a break.

"Ah fancy seeing you again. G'raha and I just decided to take a break. He is at the library if you wish to say hello." The lalafell smiled warmly to her but she shook her head.

"Actually I wanted to speak with you, I could use some advice and I'm not sure who to talk to."

"Then I am at your disposal. How about some tea?"

Asami felt relieved as they went to the cafe. Once sat and ordered Krile tilted her head.

"I take it you don't wish to have him know something?"

"It isn't quite like that... um being what I am it is hard to find companionship.. Kitsunes live so long and I find myself.."

Krile could see Asami struggle and simply chuckled, "Ah, I suspected as much. You aren't very secretive about it. Everyone saw how you stayed so close to him. Though I'm sure G'raha is just as oblivious. I can tell you he often asks me if I have heard anything about you recently. I do think he misses you."

After hearing this news her cheeks turn a shade most close to that same Miqo'te's. "He does?" Krile chuckled again, "Indeed he does. Perhaps you two should take a trip? I hear he longs to visit Ishgard."

Her ears drop when she remembered that she did promise to take him sometime. After a moment of thought she looked at the lalafell, "Is that alright? Taking him from the studium?" She nodded, "We are at a break for the moment so there is time. What better way to express your thoughts than a trip for just you two?"

Asami nodded and stood placing enough Gil on the table for their meal and a tip. "I will go ask him now!" Krile simply giggled to herself as she watched the fox run towards the library, "How adorable those two are."

Once she arrived she caught him at the back corner looking over a tome. His crimson eyes carefully scanning every word. He must have heard her approach for one of his long cat-like ears turned toward her. He looked up and when their eyes met he almost blushed, ears perking as his tail swayed side to side. "Ah Asami! I was just asking Krile the other day if she had heard from you. To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

Her heart skipped a beat at hearing his voice. "Well I was wondering if you would like to come with me on a little adventure? I spoke with Krile and she says everyone is on a break." The Miqo'te's eyes lit up at her suggestion and he almost dropped his book. "An adventure with you?! I would be honored. Is anyone else coming on this venture?" His voice almost sounding sad as he asked. She shook her head, "No, I thought it would be nice if it was just us. Also I did promise you I would take you."

He placed the tome back on the shelf and smiled, "Then I will get a few things. I wish to take notes on the architecture." She followed him to the annex where he gathered a few things and made sure to have warm clothing. Asami dressed in her usual thavnairian dancer attire as they made for the snowy land of Ishgard.

While on the airship they sat close waiting, chatting about what they went through and he mentioned what it was like as a child. He then tilted his head at her, "I never thought to ask since I thought it would be prudent, but I know not much about Kitsune nor have I found any tomes regarding your kind. Indulge me, but could you tell me more?" Asami didn't know much except from what she was told in Yanxia. "From what I can remember there are several kinds. Water foxes tend to remain close to water and the like." He tilted his head, "What manner of kitsune are you?" She smiled softly, "I found out I am a Celestial, or as they call it, a Tengoku. Though the couple that raised me had no idea. I grew up looking like a regular Miqo'te kit."

G'raha tilted his head a bit, "I take it they were not your birth parents?" She shook her head, "No, they found me as a babe and raised me as their own. They passed when I was 18." He touched her arm, "I am most sorry to hear." Her heart raced once he touched her arm and she smiled, "It is alright, it wasn't until I turned 50 did I notice I wasn't aging." He blinked surprised, "Wait, forgive me, you said 50? I've heard of the Viera living a much longer life, but.." Asami giggled softly, "I didn't realize what I was until I turned 100. I ran into another kitsune who explained to me what I was."

He was surprised and tilted his head at her. The scholar in him eager to learn more. "So does that explain why you have more tails?" She nodded, "Yes, it is a way to tell a fox's age. Every 100 years a kitsune gains another tail depending on power. I am over 500 years old, 530 to be exact. Which makes it hard to find a companion." She blushed at that last part and he nodded, "I imagine you have seen quite a bit in that time. I cannot imagine living so long." She nodded looking down, "Even more so once I found out who my real parents where.." He could see she was having trouble explaining who she was and shook his head, "You do not have to tell me if it is too painful." Asami shook her head and looked at him, "I want you to know who I am."

G'raha nodded and listened to her intently. She took a breath and looked up, "I found out my father was a nine tailed kitsune who was charged with fighting the contained primal Sophia.. however that didn't end well as he fought hard." He took her hand as she explained. "As he laid dying he took the aether from the primal and infused it with his own remaining. It was enough to provide life and an escape for a child." She trailed off as she looked at him, her teal eyes welling up with tears. He thought for a moment and looked at her with a worried expression, "Your father died to give you life, and your mother is.." She swallowed the lump in her throat, "The contained primal Sophia.. no one knows, except you. I felt I could tell you without you wanting to seal me." The Miqo'te male wrapped her in a hug, "Asami I would never seal you nor think less of you. You are a hero, of the first and of this world. You are dear to me and can confide in me for anything you require." Her heart skipped a beat as he held her, hiding her face in his shoulder feeling relieved. "I was worried.. if anyone found out they would become afraid of me."

He lifted her head so she could look at him, "You are quite an amazing person and you have done much for the worlds. You have nothing to worry." He wanted to kiss away her tears but simply blushed them away and let her go, "No more tears. Let us enjoy this time and see where this little venture shall take us." Asami blushed and wiped her cheeks blushing a bit, "Yes I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. Just stay warm." They both laughed and soon the attendant called for passengers to ready their descent. She hoped while in Ishgard she could finally confess her feelings for the Miqo'te male beside her since now he knew what she was.
