Chapter 1: Mommy... I mean Wanda

Chapter Text

It’s the three days before Christmas and you just got home. Tonight your parents are having a small holiday “party”, it was tradition. Your parents had invited your aunt and uncle as well as their son, Nick. He was a seventeen year old boy whom you had nothing in common with. He was a good kid and you’d exchange a few words, but eventually you would just resolve to sharing awkward smiles with each other during the rest of the evening. Your siblings were supposed to be there too, but bailed and left you to fend for yourself. A handful of neighbors were also invited. They were pleasant, but nothing too interesting. You felt yourself zone out as they discussed flowers and some strangers divorce. Your aunt explains why the woman must have gone insane and how the least she could do was cook for the poor man who had provided for her for so long. You sigh and accidentally draw attention to yourself. “So! What are you doing now y/n?” These questions usually made you nervous, but your disinterest in their opinion of you kept your tone calm and confident, as you explained your studies and the woman hums in response, only for them to go back to criticizing your mothers decor and forgetting your existence once again.

Hours pass and the house grows darker and candles are lit in front of you. You were sinking into the couch with wine in hand, you sipped wishing it was something stronger. Your cousin is eyeing the glass, probably wondering if he could sneak some alcohol. Honestly if you weren’t getting quite comfortable on the couch you may have helped him, just to see what happens. You smirked to yourself at the thought of the drunk boy making a big fool of himself, not that anyone would care that much, but it may liven up the mood. Just then three knocks were heard from the door. Everyone looked around in confusion, mentally counting the guests. Where more expected? Your mother peaked through the curtains.

“It’s the new neighbors. Ugh, I don’t know, they creep me out. Aren’t they a bit creepy y/n?” She asked you with a mocking smile. Creepy was your mothers word for a little… queer.

“I have never seen them, so I don’t know.”

You answered shortly, but secretly started to get interested. In your mind you were now expecting maybe two gay men. You were excited! You had been out as bisexual since high school. Your parents didn’t hate it, but they liked to avoid the topic.

“They live together… just them” your aunt said in a low voice, shivering with a disgusted face. That was all you needed. You got up and walked to the door “coming!” You exclaimed. Then chuckled as it was quite out of character for you to want to open the door. Nick stumbled to his feet and followed you out of the living room. Your parents most certainly expected you to small talk and then send them away politely, which was a fair assumption, you weren’t the social kind. However tonight you had other plans.

Your hands were almost shaky as you grabbed the door handle. Damn, you sure were deprived of excitement. You tried your best to open the door in a calm and collected manner. As the door slides open, you see two women standing on the porch, shivering slightly. They were younger, older than you, but half the age of most of your neighbors.

“Hey! I’m sorry to disturb you, we just moved in across the street and just wanted to say hi.” The brunette spoke with a friendly tone, the redhead seemed less interested in being there. Still she stretched out her hands where she held a tin of cookies. Oh, dear they baked? You thought to yourself. Feeling guilt for how poorly they were about to be treated by the rest of the neighbors.

“Hi..” you attempted to speak but seemed to have lost your voice. You cleared your throat and tried again.

“Thank you! Oh wow…” You marveled as you grabbed the gift, but were cut off by Nick eagerly running into the hall almost crashing into the wall. Had he been drinking? You thought to yourself and could have sworn the brunette gave away a small giggle as if she had heard your thought.

“Hey…. um Nick” He reached out his hand towards the women. You rolled your eyes at him, knowing him he would be drooling over them the rest of the night.

“Right!” you cut him off. “I am y/n.” you smiled at them. Gaining a soft smile from the brunette, that had you melting inside. The redhead gave you a look now slightly intrigued or so it seemed, she was quite hard to read.

“Wanda.” The brunette said “And this is Natasha” She gestured to the shorter woman, who gave you a tight lipped smile only for it to disappear as she glanced to your side.

“Is he alright?” Natasha spoke with a slight smirk. It took you a second to register, since it was the first time you had heard her voice. It was deep, but sweet and it made you just a bit unsteady. looking over to where Natasha had motioned, you saw Nick now leaning against the wall and mumbling nonsense. You had seen him drunk before, he was quite the lightweight and slightly dramatic. You gestured for him to go sit down and he followed order, probably too dizzy to argue.

“He’ll be fine. I’m sorry” you gave them an apologetic smile.

“Um, we are having a little holiday party, if you’d like to come in, some other neighbors are here?”You spoke, trying to sound friendly, but not pushy.

“Oh, n..” Natasha started, but was cut off by Wanda who swiftly accepted the invitation.

“Come on in! you must be freezing.” you said attempting, but failing to contain your excitement.

You were surprised at how smoothly the night actually went. The people at the party seemed to lose some of their judgement for the two women. Which didn’t necessarily surprise you, seeing as Wanda was quite hard to dislike. Natasha had found a seat in the very same spot you had previously occupied on the couch, which made you smirk. You walked over to her deciding that you were going to try to strike up a conversation. As you stopped in front of her, her eyes slowly scanned over you and then finally up to your eyes. They were green and absolutely gorgeous you thought, but tried to stay focused on your mission.

“These parties are better when you have had a few.” you said jokingly.

“Oh, really?” Natasha quirked an eyebrow at you.

“No, but it can’t hurt, right?” you laughed, which actually made Natasha chuckle slightly, giving you some confidence.

“Well what are we having?” Natasha said, in a tone that almost seemed daring.

“Well, there is wine and beer over there, but for our special guests I can always arrange something.” you said, wiggling your eyebrow.

“I’m listening.” She said, smirking. You take a few steps and motion for her to follow. The two of you make your way up the stairs to your room. You had felt so confident in the living room just then, but once left alone with Natasha with her eyes all on you, you struggled to breath.

“Wow, and here I thought you were just trying to offer me a drink.” The redhead mocked with a slight chuckle, looking between you and the bed. A nervous laugh escaped your lips as you slowly turned red, which she seemed to find quite amusing.

“Here, it um.. is” You say, trying to divert the attention, to the bottle of whiskey now in your hand. Her eyes went to the bottle seemingly impressed. You walked towards the door, where Natasha was, leaning against the wall.

“Why don’t we stay up here?” Natasha spoke, giving you no time to respond before walking in and plopping down on your bed.

“Oh, um… I have no glasses up here.. I.. guess we could drink from the bottle?” you spoke carefully. Not that you weren’t used to that. Being a college student, who enjoyed alcohol a fair bit, you rarely had time for cups.

“Fine by me котенок.” She smiled. Was that russian? Before you had the chance to ask, a voice appeared behind you.

“There you are, sweet thing.” It was Wanda. You assumed she was talking to Natasha, but you honestly weren’t sure. She walked in and sat down next to her girlfriend, with a smile. As they were both looking up at you now, you suddenly felt a little embarrassed, standing there with the open whiskey bottle in hand.

“I hope Nat’s being nice to you” she glanced at her girlfriend seemingly scanning for mischief.

“Of course I am” Nat exclaimed with fake hurt in her voice as Wanda rolled her eyes at her.

“Sweet, котенок here, was just sharing her whiskey with me. And since she is probably not old enough to have bought that herself, it is quite the gesture.” Natasha smirked at the last sentence as it made your cheeks red.

“Well then, what about me!” Wanda said furrowing her brows and holding out her hand, motioning to the bottle, breaking the tension nat had created and making all three laugh. Giving the bottle to Wanda your hands slightly touched sending a shiver down your back.

“Thank you sweetheart, mommy’s had a long day.” She said before taking the bottle to her lips. Your eyes widened by the statement, it should not have turned you on, but you were once again out of breath. Although you were unable to notice it as you fiddled with your hands trying to clear your mind, Natasha noticed the look on your face.

“You, shy now котенок?” Nat teased. Swallowing hard, you tried your best to search your mind for a response. Before you could Wanda pushed Nat to move slightly and patted at the room between them on the bed, locking eyes with you.

”Come sit малышка.” She said with a sweet smile. You moved over to the bed as you wondered if Wanda too spoke russian? As you sat down you decided to ask, but were stopped by wanda shoving the bottle into your hands. You took a swig and scrunched your nose as the liquor hit your tongue.

“Too much for you?” Nat teased grabbing the bottle from you with a raised eyebrow. Her gaze was intimidating and you dared not keep eye contact for long. instead you looked at your hands as you fiddled with your ring.

“Be nice natty.” Wanda glared at the readhead, then quickly shifted her eyes to you. Her gaze softened as she looked over you.

“Don’t listen too much to her, she likes to tease.” Wanda said with a sweet tone, placing a finger under your chin raising it, so you met her eyes.

“Sweet thing, you have to come over sometime. Nat and I would love to get to know you better.” She spoke.

“Oh, yes. We could always use an extra set of hands, especially pretty little once like yours.” Natasha smirked, now running her finger over your hand examining it.

“Wha..?” you stuttered.

“You know, around the house, so much to do when you have just moved in.” She said, wiggling her eyebrows and laughing at your wide-eyed expression.

“Why? What went through your mind котенок?” Nat laughed, keeping her intense gaze. you simply sat confused and widened, unable to gather your thoughts.

“Well it’s late we better get going, honey.” Nat said to Wanda with her eyes still on you. Wanda agreed and although you wanted to protest you simply couldn’t move. The two women were on their way out of the room when you finally managed to regain control over your body.

“Mo- Wanda.” You spoke, embarrassed by the slip up, but determined to follow through. Which Natasha couldn’t help but chuckle at, unable to contain her amusement. Wanda on the other hand looked even more pleased than Nat did.

“Yes, котенок?” She walked over to you, stopping just in front of where you sat.

“What does that word mean?” you asked timidly shifting your eyes from wanda to nat, whose face no longer held a smug look, but rather one of intrigue.

“Kitten.” Wanda states placing a soft hand on your cheek. You blush at the touch and at the nickname.

“Why don’t you come over tomorrow kitten? We’ll make you dinner and find some good use for those pretty little hands of yours” Natasha spoke, from the other side of the room. Your eyes come back to wanda, who looks at you, head tilted to the side.

“Doesn’t that sound good, baby girl.” She whispers, stroking your cheek before placing a small kiss on your nose. You nod as you could not think of a better way to spend the next day, even if they were planning on “putting you to work”, whatever that means. All you knew was that you wanted to be around them more.

“Oh, and котенок, what kind of mommy would I be if I let you keep this.” She said taking the bottle out of your hand and walking out of the room, leaving you alone on the bed.

Your head spun, either from the alcohol finally hitting you or possibly just from the intoxication of the two women who just left.

Wait?! Did she say mommy? You thought to yourself. And did they just steal my whiskey?!
