Work Text:

"Innie, have you ever broken a bone?" Seungmin asked tiredly.

It was early afternoon, and they were watching a movie together. They had felt too lazy to go outside especially on a hot day like this one. Which meant they opted to watch the new Doctor Strange movie. If anybody asked, Seungmin would argue that he was paying attention to the TV. But talking to jeongin was such a much better pastime. See, it wasn't everyday his little fox got a break from his commissions (which basically meant murdering). Fortunately, Seungmin had gotten a sick leave from both school and work as well. (He likes to think Jeongin took a break to take care of him, but the younger one refuses to respond to the claim.) Not hearing a response, Seungmin was about to speak again. He turned around to look at Jeongin, realizing that he was looking pensively at the TV. The younger’s eyes were completely empty and after a few moments he started muttering in a different tongue. Then it clicked for Seungmin on what was happening and he quietly dove into action. He started by turning off the TV thinking there could have been a triggering scene on it. Seungmin then turned completely and paid his full attention to the other. “Hey Innie, deep breaths. I’m right here. We’re at home, you’re fine.”

Lucky for both of them, Jeongin wasn’t that deep in his PTSD episode yet. Seungmin watched as the other’s eyes slowly gained life again. How his eyebrows were pulled up in surprise yet there was confusion. He watched how Jeongin turned to look at him and how the relief was painted on his face. Seungmin swears he falls in love every single time this happens. He could become a hundred years old and his love would only have grown more. “Oh my god…I went out again didn’t I? Ughh this means another meeting with the therapist. But please stop staring at me like that, it's disgusting.” Jeongin said

Seungmin laughed a bit in relief as well before going to rest his back on the other’s side giving his legs room to stretch. Sure, Jeongin was born and raised into a family of criminals, but that doesn't mean he makes no effort in his mental stability. Seungmin was proud that the other had made the decision to start seeing a therapist especially after some life traumatizing moments. "You did. Do you want to tell me what happened? Or write it down in the journal?" Seungmin asked quietly.

"Nah, it wasn't that different or deep anyways…" Jeongin sighed before starting carefully "Did I miss anything?"

Sometimes it was difficult to think that the both of them were almost the same age, but their experiences were nothing alike.

"I had asked if you've ever broken a bone."

"Right. Uhh it depends, someone else's or my own? Why?"

See, this is what he meant by different.

"I just got curious and I meant your own by the way."

Jeongin made a sound of confirmation before launching into a story of how he had fallen out of a car at a deserted place once. The car wasn't going at really high speed, but it still resulted in him breaking both a rib and wrist at the young age of 14.

Seungmin tried to imagine a 14 year old Jeongin crying at the side of the road, but he couldn't. He thinks Jeongin wouldn't cry for a broken bone like he would for a broken heart. Or maybe that was just his imagination.

"14 year old Innie must have been soo cute." Seungmin responded instead, cooing and pinching Jeongin's cheeks.

"Ew, get away from me." The victim swatted.

He smiled at the younger who was pretending to play hard to get. Only now having noticed the position they were in. It was cute, really. Seungmin's eyes started drooping, his fever most likely having come back to haunt him. He didn't want to get up, enjoying his time to be lazy with his lover on the couch. Even though the other acted like he didn't enjoy it. "Hey, Jeongin? Carry me to the kitchen?" Seungmin jokes.

"Yah, hyung, you have legs for a reason. Go do it yourself." He responded before getting up and leaving Seungmin on the couch.

Seungmin's back fell onto the couch with the support having left. He laid there for a few seconds before feeling a headache arriving at full force. Seungmin remembered about his prescribed meds so with a heave ho he got off the couch.

He lived in an apartment, it was average size with two bedrooms and a loft. His hardworking jobs paid off, so he could have this place until he finished college. Then he could start thinking about buying an actual house or maybe a more permanent apartment where they could both live together. Permanently. He arrived at the kitchen to find his medicine already prepared with cup of water, and a note.

For my ugly hyung.

Get better and don't contaminate me pls

Seungmin smiled and looked endearingly at the note, he felt better already. (Though that could just be the medicine he just took.) Which meant he had more energy to go bother his boyfriend now. Although Jeongin would refuse with his soul to be called anything like that.

Seungmin loved his little fox.
