Chapter Text
{A piece of paper}
You were sitting on top of the picnic table that just so happened to be perfectly placed underneath an old oak tree that provided plenty of shade from the harsh and punishing summer sun. With your drawing pad on your lap, you stared at the white sheet blankly while you drummed your red ink pen against it, pondering on what to draw.
No idea really. And it's been at least a good 30 minutes since you first decided to overcome your artblock head-on. The process of starting to draw something then stopping mid way when you didn't like the way your sketch came out only further frustrated you.
Seemed like this was gonna take a while.
You then heard a whistle somewhere from behind you, but when you turned to the left, you were tapped on the right shoulder; you turned and no one was there.
"Boo!"
Your first instinct was to punch the everloving shit out of whoever it was, but then you relaxed once you realized it was your buddy Jeremy.
"What're you doing here? Weren't you practicing baseball with that other chump down the field?" You sighed as you returned back to your marked up paper, sketching away very slowly.
"Yeah but a beauty like you had my mind. So I came to where I normally find ya." He said with his whole chest, full of pride. When you ignored his statement, he began to seat himself next to you on the table and rest his head on your shoulder in an attempt to see what you were trying to draw.
You two stayed like that for a while, the occasional sound of you aggressively going over any mistakes you made and eventually tearing a page out just to start over again.
Jeremy watched and laughed as he tapped the paper to get your attention, to which you looked over at him.
"Gimme the pen for a sec." He smiled.
You looked at him with a mildly concerned and hesitant look as you handed him both the pad and pen. "Just don't draw any dicks or obscene like the last time." You sighed as you slumped your face into your hands in boredom. You could hear the slight scratches and scribbles of the pen Jeremy held so loosely in his hand, drawing on the paper with such ease it made you slightly jealous. A few minutes had passed and you were nudged in the shoulder with the sketchbook and the brown haired boy with a pleased look on his face. You took it and saying that you were amazed by what you saw would be an understatement. It was you in simple but very accurate detail, with the shading done very well and the light outline of the back slightly apparent. You stared at for a few more minutes and looked back at him with a small smile.
"And you did this all free hand, huh? You gotta teach me now I mean it's amazing, Jer."
"You really mean it?" He said shyly as he rubbed the back of his neck while grinning from ear to ear like a goofy idiot.
"Of course I mean it! I mean look at this-" you motioned him over and pointed at the stunning side profile he captured of you. "-Look at how well you did this. I know I don't look THAT good but you made it look like damn near do." You continued you compliment him.
"But you do look that good, it'd be insulting if I didn't get that down." Jeremy boldly stated. He looked at you as you were processing what he had just said. You could faintly hear someone, who you could only assume to be one of Jeremy's baseball buddies, calling him back to practice.
"Looks like it's my time to bounce, doll. Keep drawin' on that same page for me, I wanna see it later." He said before flicking your forehead and jogging off to meet his buddy.
You watched as he walked away, shaking your head and laughing, now knowing what to draw with your newfound inspiration.
