Chapter Text
“Ddeonu.. where are you hiding?” the endearing nickname that was once comforting to the younger became a malevolent reminder of the fuckup he did. Oh how he wished he could prevent this cat-and-mouse game if only he hadn't walked into the parking lot earlier. If only he hadn't seen them brutally murdering someone earlier.
Jake carefully searched every possible hiding spot in the parking lot, but to no avail. Night weather gradually became merciless, and his chances of finding him were almost as bleak as the nightly sky. Were they really going to lose their precious Sunoo? Over some dead guy that had absolutely no business interfering in their relationship? The thought infuriated the brown-haired, and spurred him on to search more diligently to find him sooner.
“If you stop hiding now, we won't do anything to you. You should have trusted us more, Ddeonu, aren't we your friends?” Sunoo could faintly make out the voice of Sunghoon, his hyung which he originally thought was quiet and shy by natue, but it turns out he was something more.. sinister. Sunghoon, covered in blood, tried not to touch any objects that could leave a bloodstain, for obvious reasons. However, it was difficult for the blond to do so, not with the bubbling feelings of anxiety coursing through him, afraid to lose Sunoo.
“He won't come out. I know it. Let's look up the security cameras.” Heeseung, the eldest, vehemently commanded them, with each passing moment adding more pressure onto the youthful leader.
“Good idea, hyung, come with me Ni-ki.” Jungwon and Ni-ki, the youngest of their team, wasted no time in following their hyung's orders. Their strategy was to search the farthest areas of the parking lot, making sure that it won't be possible for Sunoo to escape them, which was also impossible since Jay had already closed the gates just in case. Spreading out, they wanted to cover as much ground as possible. However, Ni-ki heard a noise. A faint yet audible amble.
“Wait, wait, wait.. hyungs, Do you hear that? ” Ni-ki's malice-filled grin worked its way. Ahh.. his Ddeonu is always so reckless, always clumsy with himself. He was to be of help to his dear hyung of course.
For Sunoo.. The deafening silence of this atmosphere spiked his anxiety. He frantically searched for an exit, a salvation to his misery. However, he muffled his wails from spilling, when his foxy eyes unfortunately fell upon the dead man from the other side. He had to run away, he thought . But his reasoning came handy when it reminded him he was dealing with six skillful hitmen. On top of that, he is not even sure if they heard him stifle his anxiousness or not.
What am I saying? Of course they did, way to go, ‘Ddeonu’.
After a moment of self-deprecation, Sunoo decided to muster the remainder of his strength, his body dying to just sleep from the nerve-wracking situation he had encountered a while ago. Only for his anxiety to protest, and it became heightened when Jay's voice beckoned nearer and nearer.
“You're right, Ni-ki. Looks like Sunoo is just shy to face us,” Jay tutted, and steadily walked with his boyfriends until they reached the source of the noise they had just heard.
Sunoo's heartbeats almost stopped. His eyes were wide and he felt his heart thrashing to break free from his chest.
I am really going to die now. I am actually going to die.. I am actually..
Sunoo's body profusely kept shaking behind the huge car he was hiding behind. He put his hands to his ears to muffle out their voices, and crouched in a fetal position, making sure no trace of him could be visible from the car. But alas..
“Maybe he just wanted us to find him after all..” Jay noticed a familiar, shaking figure behind a car using his peripheral vision, exactly why he decided to sneak carefully to where his favorite dongsaeng was.
“Right, Ddeonu?”
Jay crouched beside Sunoo, whose shaking ceased and his face frozen, hands dared not to leave his ears as he undoubtedly felt like fainting. He couldn't trust himself around them anymore, but his body could not struggle any longer.
Jay's lips formed a smirk, seeing Sunoo fearing for his life was woeful, yet it slightly amused him.
For Sunoo however, feeling his body exert its last efforts in keeping him alert and awake was quite an unexpected turn of events. Flailing to one side, he unconsciously fell into the arms of Ni-ki, who quickly crouched next to his Ddeonu. After Jay succeeded in locating the sound of his movements, Ni-ki then cradled Sunoo's limp body, shielding it away from Jay.
“Nice hyung, you scared the life out of him.” Ni-ki spat at Jay, and the latter scoffed.
“What did I do? Besides, you and Jungwon are supposed to dispose of the body? The fuck are you still doing here!?” Jay's eyes were fixed on the body that laid there, unattended to.
These maknaes..
Usually, those two would be unprofessional at times, but they were excellent hitmen and equally as excellent in finishing up missions, like they were required to do with this one. However, the two were not keen on taking charge of the lifeless body in the parking lot tonight.
“No way, you go do it, hyung. I am carrying Sunoo-hyung to our car.” Ni-ki voiced out.
“And I'm accompanying Ni-ki. You should help Heeseung-hyung, since you're too focused on that dead guy.” Jungwon sassed, as he tagged along with Ni-ki, who was happily carrying his hyung bridal style to where their car was.
Their happy little stride to the car, however, got interrupted by Heesung. “None of you are leaving. That guy should've been disposed off of a while ago, Jay is right. Jake, Sunghoon, and I would keep an eye out for him.”
The groans and whines of the maknaes could be heard from a mile away after hearing that scolding. Heeseung, Jake, and Sunghoon instead went inside their car, trying to make up their minds about what to do with their Sunoo next.
