Chapter Text
It’s just not fair Helena thought. It’s no wonder Hermia has all the guys fawning over her. With those pretty blue eyes, soft curls, and lovey lips. And her smile, oh that smile. Curse her porcelain skin, button nose and her dimples, those cute little dimples. Helena paused. Am I in love with Hermia? No. no it can’t be. She thought.
Besides she was in love with Demetrius right? And Hermia liked men. So whether or not Helena liked her was a moot point. But that didn’t stop her from waiting to hold those dainty hands, or run her hands through that soft hair, or plant a kiss on those perfect pink lips. So when she heard that Lysander and Hermia were going to run away with each other she just had to do something. So she told Demetrius. She told herself it was because she liked Demetrius. But it was because she liked Hermia. I am an awful friend she thought. Ruining the life of my friend because I want her. She had to stop Demetrius!
Hermia loved Lysander she really did. But as a friend. She wouldn't mind spending the rest of her life with him. He was nice, and sweet and wrote her cute little poems. He respected her and stood up to her father. He also seemed to really like her and she didn’t want to disappoint him. So here she was in the woods with Lysander. She knew her her heart was only meant to be his, but she couldn’t help but think of Helena. She had butterflies in her stomach whenever she thought of Helena’s dark hair and green eyes. She loved her smile. She loved how Helena wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. But no matter how much she wanted Helena it could never be. Helena liked men, she had made that clear. She knew she would find some happiness with Lysander but she wished it could be with Helena.
Demetrius had a crush on Lysander. He knew it. So when Helena told him that Hermia and Lysander were running into the woods to elope he knew he had to go after them.
Lysander didn’t hate Hermia far from it in fact. He found her company pleasant. She was nice, and fun to be around. He didn’t mind marrying her, especially considering that she seemed so happy about it. But he couldn’t help but have feelings for Demetrius of all people. He couldn’t put his finger on why he liked him, but he did.
