napuno ng boses ni jungwoo ang isang restaurant sa Forbes Town kaya naman pinagtinginan sila ng mga tao causing him to lower his head a bit, “ang ingay mo naman eh,” bulong niya rito sabay hampas sa braso nitong nakapatong sa lamesa.
bilang mga nanghihina kapag walang nasasagap na chismis at walang nilalait, part na ng friendship nila ang magkita sa isang mamahaling place para pag-usapan ang mga buhay ng ibang tao at magwaldas ng pera kahit na mga college students pa lang naman silang palamunin ng magulang. ganon ang friendship! but this time sariling buhay niya ang handog niya sa hapag.
THE NARRATOR, ISANG CALMING AT SOOTHING NA VOICE: doni and jungwoo kim. jungwoo and doni kim. dalawang taong hindi pwedeng paghiwalayin. kumbaga sila ‘yung burgers mula sa kilalang burger stands around the metro na buy one, take one. they’ve been friends since high school at lagi rin silang magkatabi sa kahit anong pila since they share the same surname. lucky for them sang-ayon ang tadhana sa friendship nila and they both got in sa dream school (and course!) nilang dalawa. the chismisan lives on!
syempre bilang si jungwoo ay si jungwoo, hindi siya makakawala sa ka-tabilan ng dila nito. no one roasts you like your best friend ika nga nila. hindi na niya nagawang maghintay ng weekend para magkwento at hayaang i-assess ng best friend niya ang mga ganap niya sa buhay kaya they’re eating overpriced margherita pizza on a monday afternoon. partida may mga pasok pa sila kaninang umaga.
“i’m sorry if i can’t absorb whatever this is,” jungwoo waves his hand vaguely. nakita ni doni na pumikit muna ‘to bago ulit magsalita, “so are you saying you had sex with both jace jeong and jairus suh?” paglinaw ni jungwoo sa kaniya.
nilapit niya ang ulo niya para bumulong. “yeah, both of them. at the same time,” dagdag ni doni. “actually, i think tama naman ang chismis sa kanilang dalawa. dzurv naman.”
“wow, parang dati lang batrip ka lagi sa dalawang ‘yun kasi sila ang cause ng traffic sa hallways kasi pinagtitinginan ng mga freshie,” halata ang judgement sa boses ni jungwoo, “well, it’s up to you. butas mo naman ‘yan, pake ko naman diyan.”
for the second time that day, pinagtinginan na naman sila sa loob ng resto. “alam mo ang tabil-tabil na ng dila mo, ang lakas pa ng boses mo.” doni takes a bite on his medyo malamig ng pizza na surprisingly hindi pa rin tumitigas unlike the those from other places. he takes notes of everything dahil isasama niya pa ‘yun sa review niya ng pizza place na kinainan nila bilang isang social media influencer.
“ano pa’t comm major ako kung hindi ako marunong bumoka?” jungwoo says, “eh ikaw? ano pa’t university scholar ka for the last four semesters tapos hindi mo naman iniisip maigi mga desisyon mo sa buhay tapos pagsisisihan mo–”
“wait,” doni immediately stops jungwoo mid-sentence, “who said i regret what happened?”
muntik nang mainuga ni jungwoo ‘yung pagkamahal-mahal na iced tea sa mukha niya, “eh para saan pa ‘tong pagkikita natin? sana tinext mo na lang sakin, huy vevz sinandwich ako ni jairus at jace over the weekend habang ikaw mamatay-matay sa exam mo sana masaya ka sa buhay mo love u , ganon na lang sana! pinagastos mo pa ‘ko ng transpo and food, kaloka!”
doni rolls his eyes, “tapos magfacetime tayo sabay aayain mo akong kumain sa labas para mabulyawan mo ‘ko in person, tama ka na rin, jungwoo.”
“may point ka naman,” agad na sagot sa kaniya ng kaibigan. of course he’s always right! he’s doni kim! “so ano na?
“anong ano na?”
pang-ilang beses na niya nakitang umirap si jungwoo sa kaniya, “ano na nangyari? how did you get sandwiched? sinangla mo ba kaluluwa mo? what?”
doni fakes a gasp sabay hawak sa dibdib to give that extra oomf! “are you saying you want to get into details? oh my god, jungwoo kim, you are so–”
“i’m so ano? ikaw nga ‘tong ilang linggo hindi magpaparamdam tapos mababalitaan ko na lang na nagpayanig ka ng mundo sa dalawang kantot kalimot quezon city chapter members in just one night! one night, doni! paano mo kinaya ‘yun?”
jungwoo hold the fork and treat it as a mic sabay nilapit sa mukha niya, “speak into the mic, acclah! ”
doni can't help but be proud of himself every time he remembers what happened. he makes the iconic mimiyuuh side nguso face while tucking his hair behind both of his ears, "yes, mga kababayan. i did that!" nagtawanan silang magkaibigan, medyo malakas for a very shala pizza restaurant.
“so ito na nga!” doni tries his best not to squeal, “papunta na tayo sa exciting part!”
there are a lot of ways on how doni s. kim ng bocaue, bulacan spends his time during weekends. bilang isang speech comm major, a member of the student council, a Bachelor of Science in Org major in DP Blasts type of student, and a part of the theatre guild, marami siyang deliverables every week. minsan pa nga nag-ooverlap ang mga deadlines niya. pero para saan pa at siya si doni s. kim ng bocaue, bulacan kung magpapasindak siya sa mga backlogs at deadlines niya?
kaya naman instead of spending his time crying over his never ending list of deliverables, nasa inuman siya. even though the semester just started, pakiramdam niya ‘yung pagod niyang pang hanggang graduation na. mahal niya lahat ng ginagawa niya kaso minsan it just gets too much. kailangan niyang huminga!
buti na lang they got a spot sa pop up kahit na ang dami-daming tao since it’s a friday night, all thanks to his friends na nag-reserve ng seats for them. one of the many perks ng pagiging maraming kakilala around the campus.
it was taeyong’s (his buddy from one of his org) idea na uminom sila sa labas. mukha daw kasing hindi na niya kakayanin pang igapang ang everything which is very true, parang malalagutan siya ng hininga. it was just a chillnuman with a bunch of their orgmates na naabutan din nilang umiinom, doni walks around from time to time kasi he can spot his other friends from other departments and colleges, he would go to them para lang bumati. just mr. congeniality things.
doni taps the screen of his phone to look at the time, 3:21 AM , he looks around and the place is still packed but his face is starting to heat up already, an indication that he’s tipsy already. nabasa niya rin ang mga texts ni taeyeong saying he went home already. with a friend. kaya pala biglang nawala, ang sabi mag-cr lang.
doni can’t help but roll his eyes. sana all.

jairus chuckles, “gago, you better stop, jace.” sagot agad nito.
THE NARRATOR, KABOSES MAMA MARY: jairus james suh and jacob cedric jeong. homegrown blue eagles na lumipat sa other side ng katipunan just to spite their families and leave their comfort zone. they've been friends ever since bata pa lang sila kaya they know each other very well, kahit mga bagay na hindi na dapat malaman pa ng isa't isa alam nila. the epitome of 3Ms: Matalino, Mayaman, Malaki ang tite. there's nothing much about them really; they know they're attractive, people talk about how good great they are in bed and in school, especially in bed! at least may isang bagay na hindi maicoconnect sa apelido at kompanya ng mga pamilya nilang dalawa.

jairus puffs the last of his marlboro red and blows the smoke to his other side while he puts out the cigarette butt in an ashtray, “i don’t know, divine intuition? he looks like someone who’s into that stuff naman.”
"divine intuition, gago ka, where did you get that," jairus shrugs. natawa siya, “desisyon amputa.”
“he’s into that pero ‘di papayag ‘yung kapag tayong dalawa,” hindi pa rin tinatanggal ni jace ang tingin niya sa binata pero alam niyang jairus is making faces already, “he’s our groupmate sa isang GE, i think okay lang to ask, jacob cedric. ”
“shut up, jai,” kinuha niya ang baso niya to drink the last of his kanto vodka, “no one calls me that except amah. unlike you na gustong-gusto na tinatawag by your full name sa kama.”
“gago. that’s none of your business, walang pakialamanan ng kink, okay?”
“fuck you, jai, kadiri ka,” he gives jairus a dirty look, “he hates us, baka nakakalimutan mo.”
“edi mas okay,” at this point hindi na niya alam kung lasing na ba kaibigan niya or what.
he slaps jairus’ arm, “anong okay dun? how are we supposed to ask him kung may galit siya satin?”
“angry sex? mukhang he’s the type of person na gustong namamanhandle, i don’t know,” jairus replies bluntly, “it was your fault he’s mad at us, ikaw gumawa ng paraan.”
“bastos ka, tangina mo.” he’s not gonna lie, doni kim looks like someone who enjoys angry and rough sex, “why is it always my fault?”
“it was your idea na tapatan ‘yung fundraising nila last sem. ayun, gipit tuloy ‘yung org nila.”
jace remembers it now. it wasn’t his intention to jeopardise their event, i just so happen their venues are right up against each other and more people came to them. isa pa, the plan was to invite doni kim to their event but they didn’t have the chance.
“don’t even think about it,” nagsalita ulit si jairus while lightly tapping the end of his cigarette against the table, “he’s gonna say no.”
“saan mo naman nakuha ‘yan? you need to stop assuming things.”
jairus laughs. “divine intuition ulit.”
one thing about jacob cedric jeong is that he likes a challenge. you tell him something he cannot do, he’s gonna prove you wrong.
“if he agrees, hindi kita isasama. we will find another dilf who can play daddy.”
“you can’t do that to me, jeong. mahal mo ako masyado to exclude to you sexcapades,” the older playfully punches him in the arm. natawa lang siya, “let’s just wait and see.”
“oh fuck!” doni hates thursdays so much. not only that he’s always running late for his class dahil kailangan niyang takbuhin ang cal all the way from the math building in just 10 minutes, classmate niya rin ‘yung dalawang damulag na pinaglihi ata sa hangin sa sobrang yabang. at syempre hindi pa nakunteto si lord sa pagpapahirap sa kaniya, talagang ginawa pang mga groupmates niya for a project na gagawin nila for the whole sem. lord, paranas naman maging anak mo kahit minsan lang.
and speaking of that project, they have a proposal presentation for it pero dahil nagwalwal nga siya last weekend at the days after, nawala sa isip niya. sisisihin niya sana ‘yung dalawa for not replying sa facebook gc na ginawa niya pero nakalimutan niya rin naka-mute pala ‘to. ang ending? wala siyang ambag for their first assessment and what’s worse is that the two probably think he’s a freeloader.
kung merong perks ang pagiging mr. congeniality niya around the campus, syempre it also has its cons. a lot of people were greeting him, asking him about stuff, all sorts of things. okay lang sana kung hindi siya nagmamadali pero he’s already late for his next class and his two groupmates for the project presentation are blasting their facebook gc with an annoying amount of messages.

doni groans and rolls his eyes. kung wala lang talaga siyang atraso dun sa dalawa and hindi siya need sa presentation baka hindi na siya pumasok dahil better absent than late ika nga nila.
halos malagutan na siya ng hininga dahl sa pagtakbo para lang umabot siya sa 15-minute grace period. damn, i need to go back to the gym , isip isip ni doni. sumabay pa ang dami ng estudyante na sa hallway pa napiling magchismisan imbes na tumabi.
pagpasok niya sa classroom, walang tao except for his two annoying groupmates, jairus suh and jace jeong.
“where’s everybody?” he asks, still catching his breath. he pulls up his wrist to check the time. 2:45 PM , pasok pa rin naman sa grace period pero no one’s inside their room.
“they left, ang tagal mo eh,” jairus was the first one to speak. nakatayo ‘to sa harap ng blackboard. his hands are inside the pockets of his ripped jeans, plain black shirt tucked to it making it even more hapit to his body. jace, on the other hand, is playing whatever the hell game it is on his phone. but he stopped immediately when he heard doni enter the room, he’s wearing a dark long-sleeve polo, two buttons open, and a black cotton shorts which doni thinks is from uniqlo. jace was also wearing a headband para hindi sagabal ang hair niya, which looks so soft and healthy by the way, or whatever.
god, if only they weren’t assholes.
“well, we’re not the ones who didn’t contribute to the group project though,” jace looks at him with a smirk on his face and it hits him. may sarili na namang desisyon sa buhay ang bibig niya.
doni rolls his eyes. “so where is everybody?”
“sir b gave us a free cut,” sagot sa kaniya ni jairus, “siguro if only you have the time to check the class gc instead of doing god knows what, alam mo ‘yun.”
and just like that, doni lost all of his cool, “i said i’m sorry okay! kaya nga i volunteered na to present our proposal kahit na i know little of it.”
“now whose fault is that,” this time si jace naman ang sumagot sa kaniya. hindi napansin ni doni na both jairus and jace are right in front of him, “princess?”
“also, hindi kami tumatanggap ng sorry lang.”
doni can smell the both of them, ganon na sila kalapit sa kaniya. and they both smell good! napapikit si doni to compose himself. he’s not doni s. kim ng bocaue, bulacan for nothing, you can’t intimidate him.
“what do you want?” he flashes a smug look on his face, “i would come clean to sir b, don't worry, if that's what you guys are worried about. you don't have to tell me.”
siguro nga you can’t intimidate doni s. kim ng bocaue, bulacan but maybe that’s because you’re not jairus james suh and jacob cedric jeong.
"that and another thing," jai chuckles.
doni groans in frustration, "then what do you want?"
“what do we want?” pag-ulit ni jai sa tanong niya. “you.”
doni gulps. hindi kaya ng powers niya ang dalawa pero hindi niya pinahalata dito. he still hold his head high kahit na very distracting ang titig ni jairus sa kaniya.
“we want you, princess.” parang kiniliti siyang ewan wnang maramdaman niyang bumulong sa kaniya si jace, “we’re having a small party at my house this friday. only our orgmates and other friends will be there. we want you there.”
“okay. i’ll be there.” sagot agad ni doni kahit hinang-hina talaga ang tuhod niya. nakahinga rin siya nang maluwag nang umalis sa harap niya ang dalawa at lumabas ng classroom using the back door.
okay. what the fuck just happened?!
“what was that?” pabulong na tanong ni jai kay jace the moment the got out of the room. “you could’ve just said hey we know you’re mad at us but gusto ka namin pareho bet mo ba ng threesome? or something like that.”
jace rubs his hand against his nape, “kinabahan ako, okay! sana ikaw na lang nagtanong, ‘di ba?”

“that’s okay, may time ka pa to man up,” jairus says, teasing jace na pulang-pula ang mukha because of what happened earlier.
jace hides his face behind his hands, “gago ka talaga.”

wala naman talaga siyang dapat patunayan pa, he came clean to their professor and sir b gave him a score of zero after asking for jairus and jace's side of the incident. buti na lang at recorded as a ten-point quiz lang 'yun kung hindi baka nakaluhod na siya at nagdadasal kay st. tiffy uy, patron saint of gwa. he can’t afford to lose his magna cum laude standing dahil lord, what will become of me once i've lost my novelty? ika nga nila. pero dahil nga wala siyang inuurungan at matigas ang bungo niya, he's sipping expensive booze inside jace jeong's house mansion, waiting for the two to appear.
doni hisses as the alcohol runs down his throat, pang-weng weng at mumurahing alak lang talaga ako , he thinks to himself.
medyo naiinis na siya dahil ang tagal magpakita nung dalawa. one thing about him is that he hates waiting, he hates filipino time kasi para lang ‘yun sa mga taong walang respeto sa oras ng iba. isa pa, wala siyang kilala masyado dun sa crowd so he’s sitting all by himself, for the first time in a long time walang bumabati sa kaniya and asking him to take shots sa isang party.
isasama niya sana si jungwoo but his best friend is busy with exams and acad works. jungwoo is much smarter and mas masipag compared to him. you give him a project that is due in a week, he’s going to finish and complete it in two days. jungwoo is better than him kasi jungwoo will never be in his situation 'cuz jungwoo would've never missed that assessment that would cost him a ten-point quiz and his dignity.
doni takes out his phone at sakto namang nag-message si jairus sa kaniya.

doni sighs. it was taeyong, his buddy from one of his orgs. para siyang nabunutan ng tinik sa dibdib when he saw taeyong’s face in the crowd, “tee!” tawag kaagad niya rito.
“what are you doing here?” tanong sa kaniya nito sabay beso sa pisnge, “bakit hindi mo sinabing pupunta ka rin pala, sabay na lang sana tayo.”
napakamot ng ulo si doni, “last minute invite kasi, hindi ko rin alam na pupunta ka.”
“org mo rin ba ‘to? or baka may plus one ka ah!” pang-aasar sa kaniya ni taeyong.
doni hesitates at first but then there’s no point in denying it, kesa naman sabihan siya na gate crasher, “jai and jace invited me…” he says, almost whispering.
shocked, taeyong covers his mouth, “you got invited by jai and jace? oh my god, i didn’t know you were friends with them!” the older man playfully slaps him on the arm.
sasagot na sana siya kaso biglang may nagsalita behind them, “there you are, princess!” it was jai and jace. jace’s wearing his usual outfit, a long-sleeved polo and chino shorts, si jai naman naka-Ralph Lauren polo shirt and khaki shorts. it was just their usual get up pero iba ang dating sa kaniya, all of a sudden nag-iba ang tingin niya sa dalawa.
parehas silang natulala ni taeyong nung nakita nila ang dalawa, “mind if we borrow doni for a while?” jai asks.
hindi na hinintay ng dalawa ang sagot ni taeyong, dali-dali na lang nilang inakay si doni papuntang second floor foyer slash receiving area slash whatever the mayayamans call it ng bahay ng mga jeong.
doni keeps his cool. “akala ko hindi ka pupunta eh,” pang-aasar ni jace sa kaniya. for the nth time that night, doni rolls his eyes.
“a deal is a deal,” doni replies, not wanting to keep an eye contact with the two, “now, what is it that you two want?”
there was silence between the three of them. the two looked at each other, as if nagtuturuan kung sino ang magsasalita. doni chuckles, “come on boys, i do not have all day.”
“uhm, ano kasi,” it was the first time he saw jace jeong stutter. doni flashes a smirk, hindi naman ganon ka-mighty ang isang jace jeong.
nagkunwari siyang nag-iisip, he stands in front of the two men, hand on his chin, “ah, alam ko na!”
“gusto niyo akong ipahiya in front of all of your friends!”
“yes, we want a threesome with you!”
