Chapter Text
A beautiful sunny day, the sun showing light towards nature from the cold dark beautiful night, the moon being overshadowed by the sun's light but still showing on the sky, water moving and crossing rivers, reflecting upon the sun. The wind gently pushing the trees, branches and grass, the wind gently pushing my face as well but it feels fresh and cool, sitting down on the grass with my feet in the water.
The water runs through my feet as I unpack my lunch basket, which is packed with baked apples, 1 applewatch pie, 2 cheese wedges, 1 corn bread, 2 sweetcake, 1 trout steak, 2 coffees and 1 brandy. I eat my applewatch pie as I look around; the beautiful sound of nature, the sounds of rushing water, the sounds of the wind pushing trees and grass, the sounds of birds chirping the lovely sun gleaming on wet rocks and water, it’s all so beautiful to me it makes you feel so relaxed, slows time, there are no stresses or worries it’s all so calm.
I put down my half done applewatch pie and took a sip of coffee, still warm, bitter and sweet, the smell itself had made me smile, I could stay here all day, I thought to myself. I put the coffee down and laid on the ground. The grass felt somewhat comfortable. I looked up at the sky and I could see it moving. There weren’t any noticeable shapes but it was beautiful to look at, the sky made a gradient color of blue and orange and a hint of purple. The sight of it made me close my eyes for a minute, the cool breeze of air rushing on my face. I then realized that I still had food to finish, opened my eyes, got up and started eating again while admiring the view.
“Hello”
I turned around and saw him, “hello” I responded, he sat down next to me, “May i join?” “Yeah, sure,” I said. We ate together, it was quiet for the most part but the reason was that the view was absolutely beautiful.
“You know that it rained yesterday right?”
“Yes, I know”
“So why are you here?”
“...Well why not? I like how it feels after it has rained, makes me cozy”
“Hm,” he nodded.
In the awkward silence after that conversation, we finished our food. Stuffed as we were, we still stayed, I wondered why he had even come in the first place and why he didn’t leave.
“Aren’t you busy? I thought your father needed you for farm work today. Or did he change his mind?” I asked, looking at him.
“He did need me but I had finished my work earlier than usual, he might need me again later, not sure though” he said while looking distantly at the view and turned to face me with a grin, “besides it’s my lunch break”
“Huh, oh ok, sorry” I cupped my hands and looked down at my feet
“Nothing to be sorry about,” he said, assuring me.
We didn’t say much after that, just kept staring at the view. A while after he excused himself as his father had called out for him and thanked me for sharing my lunch. I got up and started packing up, took one last look at the view and slightly smiled. But my smile soon faded as I knew that this is not where I actually was.
Suddenly, I was snapped back to reality my mother already screaming in my face *snaps fingers* "Hey! Snap out of it! Stop fucking daydreaming and help me with the laundry."
"Ok. Coming." I got up from the chair and put my journal away in the end table of my room and off I went to help my mom.
“For my sake, for your fathers sake and for YOUR sake can you stop daydreaming!” “We need all the help that we can get around here. I don’t think you want to go back to the basement for 2 weeks again don’t you now?”
“...” I stayed silent but I nodded no.
“What I thought. Make sure to clean your clothes, you and your father need to head off to Henri’s place”
“Ugh, mom, when is it going to stop!”
“I don’t want to hear you complaining! Shut up, help me and then do whatever you need to do for the trip!”
I rolled my eyes, “Ok. Fine, whatever”
I looked disapproving the whole time and my mother knew but she also knew that I would never say anything about it because I felt weak and powerless.
