All good things must come to an end eventually.
The ups.
The downs.
And all the great times in between.

It wasn’t cold. Just pleasant really, sitting there with arms rested on knees, staring out into the sunset, watching the streams of light reflect off the ocean’s waves like a crazy rave party.
“Time to go?”
Alex looks up. Techno stands to his side, blood-red cloak rising and falling gently in the cool breeze, his bedazzled although scuffed crown like a halo around his head. His eyes are locked on the slowly disappearing horizon.
“Almost.”
Techno sits down, weapons and assortment of other objects clinking together as he flicks his cloak out behind him and rests his arms on his knees.
“Not for you though."
Techno glances to Alex. “But we go together.”
Alex runs his hand across his head and refixes his glasses on his nose. “Yeah, but you’ll live on, you’ll be the one they’ll remember, you’re the one who changed the lives of so many people, all I did was bake a bad cake.”
They both chuckle. Techno shakes his head. “No, we changed the lives of so many people. We go together.”
Alex smiles at him and punches him playfully on the arm. “Well you’ve gotta stick around for a bit longer, you’ve got one more video to upload.”
Techno grins. “Even death can’t stop the Blade!”
“Oh god and the merch? We’re geniuses, man, absolute geniuses.”
They both laugh before Alex groans.
“Oh nooo man I won’t be able to see the comments on the vid, half of them'll meme the hell out of our death and the other half'll yell at them.” He grins. “That would’ve been hilarious.”
They both go back into silence, watching the sky go from orange to red.
Alex picks a dandelion from the grass in front of him, the field peppered with the same flower for miles around, and spins it between his fingers slowly, watching the petals flutter.
“Hey remember that 1v1 with Dream? He absolutely DESTROYED you."
“Heh?? Yo don’t you pin that on me, no one told me they got rid of the crit when sprinting!”
“That was years ago!”
“How was I meant to know?!”
“You’re a Minecraft YouTuber for christ sake!”
They burst out laughing, the joyous sound filling the air around them, startling a few wandering pigs as they scatter away in the pink-tinted gaze of the sun severed by the horizon.
Techno chuckles. “Oh those were the days, MCC, bedwars, Dream SMP … we caused so much trouble bro.”
“Don’t forget about that potato war of yours.”
“Oh I absolutely OBLITERATED that kid.” Techno grins. “Those were the days.”
Alex nods, and lets out a soft breath. “They’re gonna miss us.”
Techno nods slightly. “We’re going to miss them.”
He sighs but rises to his feet, his eyes reflecting the now purple twilight sprinkling across the grassland. He glances to Alex.
Alex still doesn’t move. “Tough love, eh?”
So much to say, but yet too little words to say it, and too little time.
He stands up slowly, taking in his surroundings before looking to Techno. He cracks a smile. “Wish we could ring that bell one more time, eh?”
Techno grins and turns to the disappearing horizon, spreading his arms wide, causing his velvet well-worn cloak to go billowing out behind him. With that voice you know so well, he shouts out, to the world, to the people, to anyone who wishes to listen,
“SUBSCRIBE TO TECHNOBLADE!!!”
Alex chuckles. “ “Technoblade never dies.”, it’s as if this whole time it was leading up to this one moment of irony. Ay, talk about foreshadowing huh?”
Techno turns back to Alex, the content from the moment before still seen on his face. “Ready?”
“As long as you are. Ready to ruin everyone’s day?”
“Cause we’ve never done that before, I mean blowing up l’Manburg, we probably destroyed so many people’s hopes and dreams that day…”
Techno hooks his arm over Alex’s shoulder and together they walk, chatting and laughing about everything they had done, toward the horizon where the sun spreads one final streak of light before they disappear along into the darkness
so long nerds
In heaven: I'M READY FOR YOU GOD, COME AND MEET YOUR DOOM, TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES!!!
