Work Text:
Being in a polyamorous relationship was as fun than what Kaitlyn thought. Being and feeling loved by two boys while she does the same to his two significant others and vice versa was already enough for her. Even if it sounded weird to the public eye, she doesn't really give a fuck about it. She loves them as much as they love her.
Now, in a course of a year, trio learned a lot about their significant other. Dylan didn't know Ryan had a sister who's a cat lover, Ryan being surprised when Kaitlyn was somehow able drag a sleeping Dylan towards their bed, and Kaitlyn discovering how Dylan loves to unconsciously cuddle anyone who's beside him, really. One's knowledge about the other grew over time.
Well, they've had similar interests, hobbies, and stuff. Like drinking! Yeah. They drink, but on a moderate amount only.
Well, not this time.
It was July 4th, 10:49 pm as Kaitlyn stared at her two lovers next to her, who had traded drinks with each other. This was both Dylan's and Ryan's 5th bottle.
Emma was the host of this party— she invited her former-counselor friends, and some of her friends they weren't familiar with; or at least have heard their name. Due to her being quite famous, the party was quite crowded and music was poppin. Kaitlyn, who was actually planning to get wasted this very night, ended up sitting in the corner, sober. She stared at the two in the corner of her eye, more likely glaring at some point.
Honestly enough, she was quiet disappointed that the two was drunker than those who are around them. Or maybe, that's what she thought. Perhaps there were other people wasted than these two assholes. Although quiet happy the two were having a good time, but she thinks it's unfair for her behalf. But whatever. She sighed and thought. Two boys, one gal.
How am I going to handle these two?!
As she fully decided to leave early, she looked around, darting her eyes from head to head to see if Emma was around. Coincidentally, Emma was just about to approach them.
Just the way she always was, she grinned at Kaitlyn and walked to her. “Heyy!! What's up! How's you and your boys' stay here~?” Said she, while she holds up her glass filled halfway with wine.
“Well,” She glances at the two beside her. She nervously chuckles. “I would say they enjoyed it, a LOT.” She bit her lip.
“Aww, is everything okay Kait? You know you can tell me anything.” Emma asked with concern traced on her face, whilst offering Kaitlyn her wine, waiting for her response.
Kaitlyn gladly took the offered glass and drank it. “Well, I was thinking about.. Leaving now. I don't think I'll be able to handle two drunk fuckers at once, heh. The party's a banger though, no lie.” She said, while she returned the now empty wine glass to Emma.
“Hey, are you sure you got this? Perhaps you'd want me to call Nick or Jacob? I don't think they're that drunk anyway—”
Emma paused for a second. “Oh wait. I think Jacob's already in heaven.”
Kaitlyn shook her head, then chuckled. “No need Em. I got this. These biceps don't lie y'know.” She laughed, while flexing her arm's bicep. Emma laughed too as well.
“Well then, to make things easier for you, I'll help you carry one of them to your car instead.” Emma said, while placing the glass on their table.
Kaitlyn raised her hands and shook it, denying the help. “No really, it's okay—”
Before Kaitlyn could even finish, Emma already had Dylan's arm around her shoulder. “Oops! Too late!” Emma giggled as she waited for Kaitlyn to get the other.
Kaitlyn sighed and snatched the bottle in Ryan's hand and settled it aside before it'll be his 6th bottle for tonight. He looks at her, frowning. “Kait'nn..”
She grabbed Ryan's left arm and wrapped it around her shoulders before pulling him up so they can leave. “No Ryan. That's enough.”
“Aw..” He whined.
______________
11:13 pm.
Yes. It took them two almost half an hour to get the two inside the car. If it wasn't for Dylan pulling Emma on a different direction (assuming he'd like to go somewhere else other than to go home), and the passageway being crowded, it would've been a lot easier. Ryan this whole time was just mumbling nonsense.
Or maybe not just mumbling nonsense. He's whining.
After successfully putting Ryan inside and buckling him to his seat, Kaitlyn helped Dylan get inside the car. The two sighed, followed by Emma chuckling like she didn't bumped a few of her guests multiple times. “Wow, I didn't know that'll take long.”
“I'm so sorry for Dylan's behalf, Em.”
Emma snickered. “Oh please Kait, I insisted. It's okay. And also, if I just left you be.. It would've took you an entire hour to get these two inside there.”
She sighed, as she finishes buckling the belt on Dylan's part. She ignores Dylan's confusion as she buckled him up. “Thank you so much for helping Em. And for inviting us too, it was fun, to say the least.”
“No problem, Kait. Will do anything for you.” She smiled. “I'm gonna go back inside, you take great care okay? Especially since, you're gonna be the driver here.”
Kaitlyn nodded and waved at her goodbye. “Yeah. I will. Thanks again.”
“You're welcome!” Said she, Emma, who waved back as she went back inside the bar.
As Emma departed, Kaitlyn immediately went to the driver's seat and slowly buckles herself up. She wasn't really a big fan of driving, in fact, it had been Ryan who drives all the time. Well, of course she knew how to drive, she didn't just wasted her time to take her license over going over her favorite cousin's birthday party. She just preferred being back in the passenger's seat.
“Alright boys, time to go home—”
Her ears perked up when she heard sobbing from behind. Her eyes darted to the mirror, just to see a sobbing Ryan and a giggling Dylan. She turns her head to the back, to see the two in person.
“Ryan?! What happened?!” Said she, trying not to raise her voice to the two.
Ryan sniffed and sob. He raised a hand and pointed at Dylan, before it collapsed back on his lap. “He slapped mee..”
Kaitlyn's heart sunk at his sobs, but knowing what he sobbed for was a real challenge for Kaitlyn to not burst out laughing. Somehow kept her composure, she turned her head to Dylan's. “Dylan?! What did you do?”
Dylan was a giggling mess. “I ain't slap youu.. Crybaby...” He slurred, whilst grinning and chuckling.
“Dylan, you're going to stop whatever you're doing or else you're sleeping in the couch tonight.”
Dylan pouts at her, head spinning until it leaned to the back of his seat. “I don't want.. To sleep in couch..!”
Kaitlyn darted his gaze from Dylan to Ryan. She could see Ryan's eyes getting puffy from all those sobbing. “Exactly. Now stay put you two. And Ryan?”
“Mmm?”
“Shut up.”
“Mmm..” He sadly pouted as well, but Kaitlyn simply rolled her eyes and went back to her seating position and sighed, before turning the engine on. Ryan's sobs went down, replaced by sniffling. Dylan went silent after being told so. She glanced at the mirror one last time before taking this opportunity to place her hands on the wheel and start driving.
Ah. Of course. Drunk people.
______________
11:45 pm.
“Finally.”
The car was neatly parked in front of their house. It was a 20 minute-long drive, and Kaitlyn's music throughout the entire minute were Ryan and Dylan's very absurd conversation.
“Ey Ryann.”
“Uhh?”
“You look.. handsome..”
“Thanks.. Your hand.. it's missinngg..”
“Oh my god.. It's gone?”
“Where did it go Dy..?”
“Guess I'm handless now..”
Dylan would be complimenting Ryan, then Ryan would respond with a very not-on-the-topic respond, following another conversation on another topic. That's how their conversation went on with, and it was either confusing, absurd, or just them singing to.. If they are even singing. For 20 minutes straight.
She unbuckled herself and exited the car. She opened the door for Dylan, before wrapping an arm around her, basically doing the same thing again.
“Stay there Ryan, I'll be back.”
Kaitlyn took Dylan and left a confused Ryan back on the car. Dylan was mumbling something Kaitlyn found inaudible, as she escorted him towards the front door, before stopping to reach her sling bag that was on Dylan's.
He mumbled to himself, whilst his eyes were on Kaitlyn's. “Kait.. You're so pretty tonight...”
Kaitlyn struggled at getting the keys on Dylan's side, whilst trying not to let go of Dylan's loose arm. She looked at him. “What?”
“Ohh.. You don't like being complimented uhh..”
Her hand finally got in the bag, now rummaging into it for the keys. It was a struggle to help these two make their way to her desired location due to how tall they were unlike her. So it meant that Dylan had to hunch over, which makes the process a real ass pain.
At this point she wishes she was taller. Or at least wishing Dylan was shorter. Or maybe have stretchable arms so she csn grab the keys easily. Be like Luffy or something.
She grunted under her breath and gazed at Dylan. “Dylan, what are you saying?”
Dylan leaned in and kissed Kaitlyn, suprising her a little bit. She could taste the beer he drank in his mouth, as well as smell alcohol. Well, as of right now, he looks like a walking beer bottle. Kaitlyn pulled out from the kiss as soon as her fingers managed to grab the set of keys. He let out a sweet, yet drunk cheeky smile. Kaitlyn chuckled and smiled at how adorably punchable his boyfriend looks.
“I'm so prettiee...”
She smiled, holding a laugh. “You know what, let's just get you to bed.”
She turned his head to the door and unlocked it, then leading Dylan to their bedroom upstairs.
“..Can we cuddle?”
“Yes.”
“Yay”
It sure was hard to lead him towards the bedroom without bumping into walls, but somehow Kaitlyn managed to throw him into bed before he even collapse beside it. She took his shoes off and threw a blanket on top of him. Dylan simply chuckled when the blanket covered his face. She sighed and turned to the doorway.
“One more to go.”
“Love.. Where you going..?”
Kaitlyn took a glance of Dylan, who's peeking under the sheets. “I'm gonna get Ryan. You stay there okay?”
“But.. Cuddle..”
“Yeah yeah I know. We'll do that later with Ryan too mkay? Be patient Dyl.”
“Wait.. Where's Ryan..?”
“He's uh, still on the car. I'll go get him.”
“Ah..”
Dylan groaned as she left the room. She could imagine the disappointment of the other, and she personally thinks its quite funny. Kaitlyn quickly made her way out down the stairs and straight up to the door, hitting her hips on the couch on the process. It made her curse this night under her breath. Or maybe, maybe this morning, because it's definitely not 11:45 anymore. She then proceeded to go outside then went over the car.
But seriously, she would be lying if she says she didn't enjoy hearing two drunk grown-ups act so uncharacteristic of them. I mean, the least thing she'd expect is to see a crying Ryan on the car.
Yes. He is crying, again.
Kaitlyn frowned as she saw a sobbing Ryan, who turned at her, frowning and pouting. His tears was rolling unstoppably, and it was quite big too. She took a close, good look at him, wiping his tears lovingly before she took Ryan's seat belt.
Ahh. What have I possibly done wrong this time?
“Ryan— Ryan, what's wrong?” She asked, while unbuckling the belt around Ryan. He stared at her, sniffling quietly.
“I thought you left mee..” Whined he, that left Kaitlyn staring at him in awe. She kinda felt guilty about it.
I.. What?
“Ryan, you know I'll never leave you out here in the open, not in the car too. Like— what made you think of that?”
“*inaudible mumurs*”
Kaitlyn raised a brow. “Come again?”
“*another inaudible murmur*”
“You know what, here.” Kaitlyn leaned closer to him and pecked his forehead, after freeing Ryan from the belt's hug. She noticed Ryan's change, from sobbing to completely feeling calm yet.. Confused. Doing the same exact thing she did to Dylan, she slowly, but carefully escorted him upstairs, just like what she did to the other. They've bumped the wall multiple times and had few exchanges of words, but most of it all were just Kaitlyn listening to his inaudible whispers and Ryan stumbling. Much different than Dylan's by the way, he was flirting with her the entire struggle while bumping walls with her.
As soon as they entered their bedroom, she allowed Ryan to plop on the bed beside Dylan, but sure enough she could see a fitting space in between for her. But she couldn't just sleep with the door open, specially the front door. Doing what she had done a few minutes ago, she took Ryan's shoes off and threw them in the corner next to the door that was left ajar, then standing up to see the two staring at her.
“Ugh. Finally. I can't wait to go sleep..”
She turned to the door's direction again, huffing in relief, after realizing that she'll be able to drop dead on the bed with the two after she locks the door.
“Kait.. Go to sleep.. With.. Dylan Dylan.. and Ryan Ryan..” Dylan commanded, taking careless glances at Ryan then to her whilst clumsily pointing at her direction. Kaitlyn stretched her back for a bit before responding.
“I will, I will, just let me close the— AH!”
She let out a shriek as one of them pulled Kaitlyn's jacket by the back, pulling her back to their bed. Before Kaitlyn could even attempt to get out from being sandwiched, she already found herself somehow comfortably laid down on the bed, head on top of what she assumed was Dylan's arm (he's probably gonna get bruised after what he did), with two unbelievably strong arms and legs that wrapped around her like an octopus.
Kaitlyn could barely move from the two's embrace. But she still tried her best to get out of it. Not that she didn't want to be a hotdog in the bun though— but the door. The fucking door was still open to her disappointment. “But guys— the front door was still—”
The two leaned in and kissed Kaitlyn's cheek, side by side. It made her heart flutter, but the thought of being robbed makes her heart flutter away from her ribs.
“Guys—”
“Shhh...” Dylan whispered to her ear, giving her chills down her spine, as Ryan nuzzled his face on Kaitlyn's hair, admiring her smell whilst slowly falling asleep, but somehow kept his cuddling arm and leg petrified (or like, cuddling her without hurting her— OR, he kept his arm's hug-like-grip strength constantly). As the trio slowly gets drowsy, specially tired Kaitlyn, she closed her eyes, wishing she had closed it before taking Ryan back here, giving in into the cuddle after several failed attempts.
“Guess someone's gonna get robbed tonight..”
______________
July 5th, 7:13 am.
Kaitlyn managed to wake up from a deep sleep and crawled out of bed without waking the two. She grabbed a long pillow on the floor, probably got knocked off from the bed, then putting it in the middle of the sleepyheads so they wouldn't wake up because of her absence. She turned to the door and saw it ajar, as well as hear mumbling noises from downstairs. As she took a step out of their bedroom, she remembered something.
The front door!
She glanced around to see a vase sitting on the floor then grabbed it. She was sure she heard at least two people talking downstairs. She walked her way downstairs, cautiously going down, as well as eavesdrop to what it seemed like a conversation of the two guests.
“I don't think this is a good idea man— we should get the fuck outta here!”
“Oh come on bro there's nothing wrong with that— I mean, the door was wide open so that means we're welcome.”
She slowly stepped further, gripping the vase in her hand.
“The fuck do you mean welcome— This is trespassing!”
“Trespassing my ass.”
She raised the object, ready to fight.
“Kaitlyn's not gonna like— AAAAH!!!”
“AAAH!!!”
The two screamed so loud Jacob almost fell on the couch with what he's holding. Kaitlyn blinked as she realize it was just Jacob, and Nick, who's in front of her.
Wait.
“Nick? What the fuck are you doing in here?”
He took a deep breath and looked around, panicking. “Look it's not my idea okay it's— Him!” He pointed at Jacob, who's looking at the two, munching peanut butter pops.
“The door was wide open, duh.” He said, glancing the front door that is now closed.
Kaitlyn sighed out loud, settling the vase down to the ground. “Oh thank God it's not someone else.. Damn Nick you scared the shit outta me!”
“What do you mean you almost gave me cardiac arrest!” He said in a high pitch, still heavily breathing. Then there was a moment of silence, just the TV talking and Jacob munching his food. Or should I say, her food.
Jacob looked at Kaitlyn as she and Nick went to the couch and sat down beside Jacob. “I'm surprised nobody robbed this place.”
“What do you mean, someone already did.” She said, glancing at Jacob and the peanut butter pops she bought yesterday morning. Nick laughed, making Kaitlyn and Jacob grin.
“You shouldn't had put your baby out in the open.”
She shook her head. “Yeah sure.”
