Summary:

TW: BLOOD

Chapter Text

“Wanda!” An excited Vision burst through the door, his smile radiating with his golden blush.

“Wanda darling, I have good news!”, he bellowed around the house. Shutting the door behind him with a lock, he looked around his cluttered house.

All around him was a jumble of things and objects; half-way together cribs, boxes ripped apart and scattered, paint palette cards and paint buckets stacked against a wall.

It was a mess, but him and Wanda’s mess, their mess.

Speaking of Wanda…

Wanda? Where are you?

A shift in the air made him shiver, but the synthezoid thought nothing much of it. Within his grip, he held a bag of new baby clothes. However, they had be modified to be a baby-version of his and her’s hero outfits.

“Wanda..? I have the clothes!” He called once more.

Nothing.

“Wanda?”

Slowly, Vision floated up the air. Afraid she had been sleeping and to wake her up, he said nothing and stepped up no stairs afraid of the creaks. The bag was held close to his chest, tightly as all his muscles in a strange sense of fear.

At the door of the bedroom, Vision phased through, and his fears were solidified.

The room was dark, sheets scattered, almost pulled by sheet dragging across the carpet floor. It circled from the right side to the left, making an arch around the bed that faced rightwards, to the bathroom. But it was the darker spots that caught the man’s attention.

Dark red spots, smelling of fresh iron.

“W-wanda?”, he spoke up. “Darli—?”

“V-VISH! OH LOVELY YOUR HOME!”

Her voice seemed happy, but almost broke at the end, almost hoarse. Vision almost didn’t catch it. Almost.

“Are you alright? You didn’t answer me.”, Vision replied.

“O-oh! Yes! Just humid air, and I got a bloody nose! That’s all!”

It sounded right, sounded real. But Vision’s alarms were going off.

It was not humid, that was his only evidence, but Vision still persisted.

“May I come—?”

“N-no no! I’ll be o-out! You wait there!”

“Darling, whatever it is, I can help you.”

“N-no, no, I’m okay. Just stay there.” Her voice was getting sadder and sadder, and Vision stepped closer and closer. He was outside the bathroom door, mere inches away, and the smell of blood was stronger.

Slowly, he put his palm on the knob. And the air got silent. He tried to push the door open, but it hit the lock.

“…Wanda, open the door.”

“Vision, i-it’s just a bloody nose! I just—“

“Open. The. Door.” His voice was soft, but firm.

“With some strength, Vision opened the door, breaking the lock. In an instant, Wanda’s red magic encased the door and shut it hard, breaking the hinges from the sheer force.

“I said GO!” She demanded. “I WILL BE OUT IN A MOMENT, GOD!”

“Wanda! Open the door! What’s happening?!”

“GET! OUT! GET OUT!”

Red tendrils grappled around Vision’s arms and legs, but he phased with ease, as he did inside the bathroom.

“OUT! GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!”

The smell was unbearable, and blood was all over the floor. Dark blood covered the tiles, the sink, bathtub, and the body of Wanda who laid on her side in a ball, facing him. Her eyes and face were red from crying and dried with tears, her hands covered in blood.

“NO, NO, NO, NO!” Her voice was now demanding and screaming with grief, blood hands covering her face. “PLEASE VISION PLEASE”

Vision stood in shock and growing sadness. His wife, his Wanda, his better half…

“My Darling…” He needed to clean her up, to coddle her, caress her, to soothe her pain. But as he thought, he felt his own tears bubble to the top and fall down his face as he realized and took in what had happened.

Their baby was gone. Their pride and joy, was gone. And now, they were left broken in tears and sorrow.

Vision stepped a foot, back, and Wanda panicked.

“NO! WAIT, VISH!”

At once, her hands extended to his feet, pulling her pain-riddled body close. The bloody clothes were dragged across the floor, and Wanda dug her face to his shoes.

“P-please d-do-on-n’t g-go…” She begged quietly, between her broken hoarse sobs. “I-i’m s-sorry, I’m sorry”—a sob interrupted her—“I didn’t mean too, I didn’t mean too!”—another sob broke out, now her nails gripping her up his leg—“i-i can try again, again, i won’t fail you, fail us! I-i’ll get pre-eg..g..” Her voice went quieter when Vision pulled back another step.

The bloody woman bent her head to the ground, with hands gripped together in a firm hold.

“I promise…I promise…” She begged with quiet vocal mewls of forgiveness. “It w-won’t happen again, j-just please don’t lea—.”

Her body was carried gently into Vision’s chest, as he knelt to the ground. His lips pressed gently against her temple with arms rubbing softly up and down her body. And Wanda sobbed; she sobbed out snot and tears that clung to Vision’s body, but he could care less.

All he cared was Wanda, and just the tight hug her gave her, shutting his eyes.

“It will be okay. It will be okay.” He cooed quietly. “You did nothing wrong, darling.”

He pulled his head back and gazed into her sad eyes. “I-I’m sorry…I k-know you wanted the baby so..so f-fucking bad..”

She let out another sob, but Vision held tighter, letting his tears fall.

“I know, but we will be okay.”

Together, they would be okay.
