Zhongli sighed. He had taken this commission from the Adventurer's Guild for some extra Mora to spend (as he seemed to keep running out for whatever reason. how annoying). The text posted at the Liyue branch had read: "Unusually large Hydro Slimes spotted north of Jueyun Karst. Whoever takes care of them will be given 30,000 Mora as compensation for their hard work. See Katheryne for questions."
That much Mora was certainly enough to perk Zhongli's interest, and getting rid of the Hydro Slimes seemed easy enough. Even with his non-reactive Geo, dispatching such enemies was simple work for the ex-archon and his polearm.
And so he headed off to Jueyun Karst, keeping his eyes peeled for these Slimes. After a few minutes of walking, he saw the light blue blobs bouncing along in the distance. As Zhongli grew closer, he noticed that these Hydro Slimes were unusually large. They seemed to be behaving very unnaturally too, extending parts of their squishy body into arm-like protrusions. But the most interesting part was that these Hydro Slimes had pupils. It gave them an almost humanlike vibe...
Zhongli pulled out his polearm, ready to fight and not expecting much. As he approached the Slimes, a small, normal sized Hydro Slime broke away from the group and bounded towards him, moving extremely quickly. Before Zhongli had the chance to react, he was hit in the arm by the small Slime. It didn't hurt, per say, but he definitely wasn't expecting it.
No matter. He shook off the residual water and got ready to fight, standing with his polearm in front of him. Zhongli prepared to summon the Geo construct that also gave him a shield just in case he ran into some unforeseen trouble with these Slimes, but...
He found that he couldn't summon it. He tried again, to no avail. He tried to summon the meteor he was so famous for, but got the same result: nothing. As a last ditch effort, he tried to simply summon some small Geo rocks to float above his hand, a feat he could normally easily accomplish. Again, nothing. Something was very wrong.
With panic, Zhongli looked around at the Hydro Slimes that were now surrounding him. They simply gazed at him with their strange pupils, as if they were waiting for something. As if they were more sentient than just the physical manifestation of an element.
After reaching for his Geo powers one last time, Zhongli sank to the ground, oddly fatigued. It's not as if he were physically exhausted, he hadn't even begin to fight. His limbs felt strangely heavy, and it was beginning to become difficult to move. It was almost as if he was paralyzed? But that was impossible!
As Zhongli lay on the ground helpless, the 3 large Hydro Slimes approached. Two of them extended those strange appendages from earlier and wrapped them around his arms and legs, holding them apart in a sort of starfish position. Zhongli shuddered at the feeling of the slimy Hydro on his skin.
Another appendage shot out from the Hydro Slime that was between his legs, and it tugged his pants and underwear down to his ankles in one swift motion. Shocked, Zhongli yelped, not expecting it. But with the paralyzation and binding of his limbs, he was helpless to do anything but just lay there.
