Work Text:

Zhizhu the Spider Queen never thought she'd have Monkey King's successor in her arms. When she thought she'd had him in her arms, he'd be trembling before her mighty powers, possibly begging to be let go.

But this was quite different, he was trembling in her arms because he had just died, revived by her venom transforming him into a half spider half monkey demon. She did not expect this at all to be honest.

The kid fell into her lair, and she did her best to try and capture him. Sure she lost him for a bit but picked up his scent a few minutes after losing him.

She found him gripped tightly in the arms of the mysterious girl she now knows to be the Bone Demon. She looked to be strangling him but dropped him as soon as she broke through a wall.

She didn't think about the sickening pop that happened right before she broke through, she didn't even think about how he stayed on the ground, not trying to get up and run away from her as she picked him up.

What made her finally stop was when she turned him around to face her. His eyes were closed, but his mouth dripped with the crimson blood all mortals had. Upon closer examination of the monkey kid, opening his eyes, Zhizhu was met with soulless amber eyes.

The monkey kid was dead, not by her hand, but by the creature standing in front of her. She knew something was off about the little girl, she was much too powerful for her own age.

Subconsciously Zhizhu brought the Monkey Kid closer to her chest, hiding him away from the thing in front of her. She bared her fangs a bit but it did nothing to frightening the thing.

The thing put on an innocent act.

"He got hurt badly, I do not know what to do."

"Quit the act. I know what you truly did." She took a hesitant step back, testing the waters.

The thing's face dropped almost immediately, the innocent smile became a frown. "It would be no use trying to hide from you, Spider Queen."

"No it won't. I should have kicked you out of my lair the second you walked through." Zhizhu was pissed she hadn't seen it sooner, but the girl's performance to get her tech working blinded her judgment.

"Is this not what you wanted? The Monkey king's successor is dead, if we leave him for the monkey to find, we will surely be able to complete your destiny without any more interference."

"If he was to die, I would have been from my hands alone."

"What does it matter how he died? Dying from you, me, a peach pit, it doesn't matter, he dies anyways." The girl took a step forward, Zhizhu took a step back, almost tripping on something.

Looking down she saw it was Monkey King's staff. The staff was one of the last things she needed besides the lantern. If she left it here, who knows what would happen next.

No she had to get out of here with both Staff and kid. She gripped the Monkey kids hand tightly within her own, playing with them to make sure he can still grip things.

"You seem distracted, my Queen, here. If the body bothers you that much I will simply dispose of it myself." The thing moved closer.

It was now or never.

Zhizhu dipped down letting the Monkey kid grab into the staff and surprisingly it was able to be picked up. She straightened herself back up before making a mad dash to the tunnel sewer entrance, she had to get out of there and find a place to put the Monkey kid back together.

She had assumed the monkey kid lived wherever this pig logo was from. And it wasn't hard to find, considering the sign was lit. She paid no attention to the noises inside, just going to the top floor where the Monkey kids room should be.

The window was opened, letting the small tree on his window get light, she paid nothing else any mind as she used her spider legs to grip the inside of the room, making sure she didn't fall before setting him on his bed.

She released her hold on the room, allowing the mech to power down before dismounting from it, then going inside the room. It wasn't small by any means but it wasn't big either.

She pulled herself back to reality, putting her full attention on the Monkey Kid. First things first she took off her helmet, placing it on the bed, before removing the red fabric keeping his hair up.

Next she placed his head on her lap where she felt around his neck, feeling where it had broken, killing him. She snapped it back into place. Now all that was left to fix was the whole being dead thing.

She had one more vial of her venom left, the same one that gave her, her tech Syntax. If this didn't work the Monkey Kid would stay dead, she should be happy about this, but for reasons unknown to her, she could not see the world without the Monkey kid rising to protect it.

She popped the vial open before calling her mech back up. She placed the vile inside its head watching the liquid drain into the fake fangs. Once every last drop was In she brought the Monkey Kid closer to her mech, she felt around his arm until she saw a vein.

She grabbed the smaller detachable fangs from the mech, and stuck it in his arm. She watched the liquid drain into the Monkey Kids body, hoping that this would work and the Monkey Kid would be back to normal, well as normal as her venom could make someone be.

As the last of the venom went into Monkey Kid's body she took out the needles and told her mech to lay back down. She put pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding.

At first nothing happened. A second, three, ten. Nothing. Then the boy was moving, his hands twitched before his face contorted in pain, she covered his mouth as he let out a scream of agony.

His body turned the spider shade of purple, his face changed into a more monkey like look, nose and all with a face mask much like the Monkey Kings to match. But three circles were also placed on his face, symbolizing spider eyes.

His hair was now the texture of fur, and his body had some fuzz on it. He looked to be a perfect mix between her and the stupid, but handsome Monkey King.

Once the boy stopped screaming, Zhizhu removed her hand from his mouth. Allowing the boy to finally look around his surroundings before they landed on Zhizhu. Almost immediately the boy got out of her hold, gripping the staff within his hands tightly pointing it at her.

She was about to say something sparky, but stopped when the Monkey kid's breath hitched, he was looking at his outstretched hands. The purple fur seemed to mock him.

He dropped his hands, but didn't let go of the staff as he felt around his face and hair, before rushing off somewhere, presumably the bathroom.

A shocked scream came from the area, before the monkey kid returned tears threatening to falk from his eyes.

"What did you do!?" He bared his fangs at her, but she paid no mind to it. She pats the spot next to her on his own bed, he hesitantly walks towards his own bed, before sitting on it.

"Now is that anyway to thank someone for saving your life?"

"Saving my life!? You tried to ki-" A pause as if something in his memory's returned. A thought that would become true as he put a hand to his neck rubbing it, feeling the way it was not broken.

"Lady Bone Demon she,,, why did you bring me here, why did you bring me back!?"

"If I knew that answer myself I'd tell you, all I can tell you is that I couldn't let you die by her hands."

"So what, now that I'm alive again you're going to kill me?"

A pause before a tired smile landed on her face. "No. Funny enough I can't make myself kill you. No, I feel protective over you, like I must hold you and never let you go. I don't normally feel this way about my subjects, but you. I feel something stronger with you."

Before the boy could protest she pulled him into her lap, taking off both of their shoes, before letting him curl up under her chin. "I wish to hold you like this and never let you go."

It was oddly domestic, even for her, but it truly felt right to do at the moment. She combed his hair with her hands, letting a song take her as she hummed. At first the Monkey Kid tried getting out of her grasp, but as more time passed he settled down, letting her humming regulate his breathing.

Before he knew it he was crying, he didn't know why he was crying, but he cried in Zhizhu's hold, her fingers stopped combing through his hair in favor of having both arms wrapped around him.

The sky turned from blue, to orange, pink, then back to a more dark blue with a hint of pink and orange still left when an angry figure stommed up the stairs.

She pulled the Monkey Kid closer to her body, almost making him hide his face in her chest, as he continued to cry. She allowed her face to stay neutral, waiting and listening to the figure to understand what I wanted.

Around the corner came the pig demon she saw at the market that one time, where she tried eating him and his scholar friend.

His face was in an angry scowl as he opened up his mouth. "Mk you better not have been up here since-" A pause as his eyes caught onto her, cradling the Monkey kid, Mk his name was? No it must be more of a nickname than his legal name.

Moments later the scholar came up the stairs, stuttering about something he had seen outside.

"P-Pigsy, there's a robotic s-spider outside Mk w-window!" The pig Demon, Pigsy shut the scholar up by shutting his mouth, redirecting his gaze to her and Mk.

" S-Spider Queen!! What, what is she doing here!?"

"I don't know, but you and your Lackey need to leave." Pigsy growled, it was a bit broken obviously Pigsy havent had to use Hi growl in a while.

"You want to kick your own child out. Pigsy, pigsy, I thought you'd be better than that." She whipped away Mk's tears, before turning him just so, so the pig demon and the scholar could see.

"M-Mk." Pigsy said flabbergasted, he debated moving closer to his son or staying right where he was.

Mk let out a broken whine, burying his face back into Zhizhu's chest. "I will admit there was a little mishap that happened in my lair, but I fixed him up, and made him better." She worked her fingers through his hair again.

"He's a spider, how is that fixing him?"

"Half spider, half Monkey. But he looks cute like this." She cooed at Mk, before returning her attention back to Pigsy and the Scholar.

"This really isn't happening is it." The scholar asked, gripping the shirt of Pigsy. The Pig demon allowed the scholar to have a breakdown on his shirt.

"So what, is Mk your lackey now?" Pigsy finally steps closer to the bed, pulling the scholar along.

"Oh no, nothing like that, he's more like my spiderling." Zhizhu nuzzled Mk affectionately, a broken purr came off the spider monkey as he tried to go closer to the Spider Queen.

"You think we are just going to let you take Mk back to your lair, then you're dead wrong he stays here."

A chuckle escaped Zhizhu's mouth.

"My lair has possibly already been compromised, my subjects must see me as a traitor because of that demon. Should have never trusted it."

"What do you mean your lair was compromised, your their Queen."

"Listen, you have no idea what that thing is capable of, you haven't been around long enough to know the dangers of what the Bone Demon can do. So no I will not be leaving back to my lair, but I am certainly not leaving my Spiderling alone."

The two demons glared at one another, neither backing down until the Scholar interfered. "Pigsy, let's be reasonable here. Mk's no longer human, a spider monkey, the only spider that could help him is already cradling him, so I say for right now we let her stay."

"Your Scholar friend is much smarter than you Piglet."

"Piglet!" He was about to say more but looking down at Mk; who must've fallen asleep sometime during the argument, loomed so peacefully within the Spider Queen's hold.

"Fine, you can stay, but I'm not just going to let you live here for Free, like Mk you have to work, got it?"

Zhizhu hummed, before nodding.

"You have my word Piglet, now off with you too. Mk needed his rest as do I." She grinned before placing Mk flat on his bed, rearranging the bed into more of a broken nest. Later she'll make it a proper one, but for now it'll do.

Once Mk was situated in the nest she caught a glimpse of Pigsy looking back at her before going around the corner. She finally let her body relax, unclenching her jaw, before relaxing her muscles.

She wrapped herself once more around Mk, threading her fingers through his hair, before finally, finally sleep claimed her into a dreamless sleep.
