Chenji. Jichen. Yan ang tawag ng friends nila Jisung at Chenle tuwing nakikita sila magkasama which is all the time. At first it was a joke that turned into something you say only when you see them together. It did bother them at first kasi it wasn't meant to have hidden meaning aside from it being an inside joke between them friends.
Chenle and Jisung both are in denial of their feelings with each other. It was already given they'd end up doing so.
Sino ba naman hindi magiging in denial? Kung ikaw, suddenly mag feelings for your best friend since diaper days? Of course it was a shock for the both of them but they talked and both agreed na they will do a test run of being a couple. That test run includes not telling their friends unless it’s official. Sobrang showbiz!
‘Ji, discord tayo mamaya?’ Chenle asked while eating their tusok tusok bought outside of their school.
‘Huh? Bakit? May exam bukas?’
‘Hindi. Wala. Gusto ko lang, bakit?’
‘Huh? Eh kala ko ba tuwing exam week lang tayo mag discord?’ Nag tatakang tanong ni Jisung.
‘Yeah, I know. It’s just that lately hirap ako matulog. Hindi naman ako kumakain ng sweets pag malapit na matulog.’
‘Oh sige, mag discord tayo hanggang sa makatulog ka. Ayan na, pumasok ka na sa bahay nyo. Alis ako pag nakita na kita nakapasok’ mahinang tinulak ni Jisung papasok si Chenle sa bahay nito.
‘Oo na. Bye. Message me when you’re home.’
When Chenle got inside his room. A notification popped on his phone. ‘Ang bilis naman neto maka uwi’

Gabi. Gabi nanaman. Chenle thought.
He looked through websites to youtube videos how to sleep faster every night. To his dismay, he never found one of it helpful because he was still stuck and wide awake every midnight. If you ask him what gives him energy when he’s sleep deprived most of the time, if it was an energetic chenle he would answer jisung; jisung gives him energy. But since it’s the sleep deprived chenle we’re talking to, he’d say it’s coffee, and coffee only.

Tulog ka na?
Chenle saw the message through the light up phone in his dark and cold room. As he was about to reply to Jisung, he saw a figure standing outside his balcony. Naturally, he will get a bat and get into a stance ready to fight back if it was a robber. But since he know only Jisung knows the way how to climb his balcony, he was calm and waiting for him to enter
‘Oh. Hindi ka pa tulog?’ Jisung asked as he was trying not to make a sound while entering Chenle’s room.
‘Hindi pa. Obvious ba?’ Chenle feistily responds back while scooting over to the side and turning his back to Jisung.
Jisung softly slipped into the warm sheets and scooted closer to Chenle as their bodies both give warmth to each other. Because it’s what they do, it’s what give them peace; the familiarity and comfort of each other.
If you’ll ask them both if they held hands before, you’d expect they did, but in all honesty they haven’t. But they did hugged multiple times. It was their love language, it’s what they’re comfortable with, and most importantly it’s what keeps them both feel safe; at each other’s arms.
‘Lapit ka konti dito’ Sabi ni Chenle while fixing their one person blanket.
As Jisung scooted closer, before he knew it he was already caged by a sleep deprived Chenle.
Jisung finds him endearing but if you’ll ask him for the truth of what he thinks of Chenle, he’d say he’s the prettiest boy he has ever seen. He can go on and on how Chenle’s eyes shines when he talks about his dog or how he got a high score when he sang at one of those karaoke booths at a mall or how Chenle blushes when it gets hot.. he can talk about him all day.
Without any thought, Jisung softly removed Chenle’s bangs that has been covering his eyes. ‘Your bangs are getting longer.’
‘It is. Do you wanna cut it for me tomorrow?’ Chenle said without hesitation.
‘Chenle, let’s sleep. Nawawala tayo sa agenda natin, baby.’ Jisung said as he shut his eyes closed.
Baby. It was the first time Jisung called him that. They have been on this relationship trial for months and this is the first time he was called baby by Jisung.
‘Baby? Why’d you call me that? You have been calling me chenle our whole life. Why’d you call me baby?’
‘Because you are my baby. What do you mean? Do you not like it?’
‘No, it’s not that. I like it. No. I love it. I love it when you call me baby or chenle because it’s you who says it.’ Chenle said while avoiding any form of eye contact as if it will be visible through the dark room.
As Chenle muttered the last words, Jisung brought his hands up to Chenle’s face and slowly caressed it while looking through his eyes. Jisung slowly moved his face closer to Chenle as they both closed their eyes and wait what comes next.
The kiss was their first. They were each other’s first.
They both rested their foreheads against each other while smiling with a blush that are creeping up to their faces.
‘Let’s sleep? May pasok pa bukas. I brought my backpack para sabay tayo pumasok.’
‘Huh? Dito ka maliligo? You brought clothes?’
‘Yes and no. Yes I have my underwear. And no I don’t have my uniform. Let me borrow yours, will you?’
‘Of course I will. Matulog na tayo’
Jisung took Chenle’s hands as they both drifted to sleep. It was only then Chenle realized what kept him awake every night.
‘Good night, my Chenle’ Jisung whispered as he drifted to sleep while holding his lover’s hands.
Through the bright moon lit up night, they both found comfort and peace through each other’s arms.
By saying this is Chenle’s most comfortable sleep was an understatement. He cannot describe how good of a sleep it was. It was visible through the smile he has the morning after.
And in the four corners of Chenle’s room, only them knows what happened. How a new beginning for their relationship has started.
