Chapter Text

~ Between my lies and how the truth gets in the way
The things I want to say to you get lost before they come ~

"Ne, Yuki-chan, what are you thinking?"

Vein popping, Yukimura tried to focus on the homework in front of them. That's right - after that fiasco from last time they were still brave enough to try tutoring again. But it was really no surprise to Yukimura that Shinonome had somehow wormed his way onto Yukimura's chair. It had been all right as long as Shinonome hadn't tried anything funny. It had also still been all right even when that sasquatch had hugged him from behind - he had still been able to focus.

But when Shinonome's hands wandered again - much like last time - Yukimura finally lost it. Well, everything but his anger. Which wasn't that much a problem for Shinonome, who just hugged and kissed him. And suddenly Yukimura had found himself standing, head buried in the crook of Shinonome's neck, wondering when they had stood up and when he had turned around.

His resistance towards that guy really was dwindling, fast.

"Yuki-chan~, what's wrong?"

Maybe he should have answered, but Yukimura suddenly felt so tired, and Shinonome's shoulder was so comfortable. He didn't want to feel so warm and content in this moron's arms. It was almost as if he could let go. Of course it wasn't long until his insecurities kicked in again. As much as he would have wished for all that to be finally over, he knew he couldn't expect all their problems to vanish into thin air just like that. Or maybe he was the only one still seeing them. Sometimes, he really did hate himself.

"Ne, you're not still thinking that I might leave you someday, are you?"

Yukimura stiffened without intending to. His eyes wide open, he hadn't expected this to still affect him so much. And that after his revealing breakdown two days ago.
Shinonome moved back a little to look at him, and Yukimura almost complained about the loss of warmth and comfort - but luckily, he managed to hold it back.

"I could never leave you..." Shinonome's gaze shifted over his lips and up to his eyes so lovingly, so tenderly, that his heart contracted and the blood rushed into his cheeks. And when Shinonome's thumb started caressing his cheek and neck, Yukimura practically melted.

How could that moron still turn him into a helpless pile of mush? He had thought he was improving on resisting that bastard, but apparently, Shinonome had torn down yet another barrier.

"I love you so much it hurts sometimes..." He placed a trail of feather-light kisses all over Yukimura's face, along his neck, on his collarbone. And Yukimura was going insane from the tender devotion behind every one of them.

After Shinonome had torn down his walls, the only barrier left between them was a paper-thin glass wall. One precise hit and it would crumble, and Yukimura would crumble along with it.

"Shuji..." Shinonome whispered into his ear, so incredibly erotic that Yukimura's whole body shuddered in reply. Just what was this baka doing to him?

"How does it feel..." Shinonome continued, planting slow, sloppy kisses along Yukimura's jaw. His arms tightened around him, pulling him even closer in the process.

"... when I tell you..." Skilled hands brushed up and down his back and almost gave him the rest. It was too hot and too much and too little, all at the same time, and Yukimura could feel himself trembling under Shinonome.

"... I love you?" Shinonome ended, again whispering into his ear, in so low a voice no one but Yukimura could have heard, even if the person was standing right beside them.

His body reacted immediately and earnestly, and he couldn't take all the sexual tension any more.
He had completely forgotten the question.

"What was that... again?" He managed to murmur in between two kisses, and he found it hard to stay focused when Shinonome's hands worked wonders along his body.

Yukimura opened his eyes, wondering when he had closed them, and looked straight into Shinonome's hazel orbs. Before he could give in to his instincts to turn away, Shinonome's strong hands caught hold of his face and didn't allow him to look away.

The brunette smiled at him. A rare, genuine, almost shy smile, with the corners of his mouth only slightly stretched. It spoke volumes to Yukimura; how much Shinonome really loved him, how happy he was to have him in his arms, right here, right now; how incredibly lucky he felt to have won him over.

That smile embarrassed Yukimura more than any words could. Because it was in the open, raw, and true. And he had never been able to deal with genuine emotions well.

"I love you," Shinonome repeated, louder this time, his smile broadening at the same time that Yukimura's whole face started burning.

"And I wish... just once... you'd tell me you love me, too."

His face hovered only millimetres from Yukimura's, and he could feel the hot breath on his skin. When Shinonome's arms tightened again, squeezing him in the most right way possible, he let out a desperate sigh.

How difficult could it be to say three little words? Just three words. Words that his heart had known right from the start; words that his mind had acknowledged a long time ago.
He should be able to say them, shouldn't he? Just once, could he not indulge his boyfriend?

"I... I..." he stuttered, eyes half-closed and heart racing against his ribcage with the force of a jackhammer. It didn't help that his crotch was pressed firmly against Shinonome's.

"I..." he tried again, tears prickling at his eyes, he tried so hard.

"... can't resist you," he finished breathlessly, freeing his face from Shinonome's grip and burying it in his baka's broad chest, trembling fromt he effort.

He could feel the disappointment in Shinonome's briefly loosening embrace, but that idiot quickly got over it and pulled Yukimura in again, squeezing him. Their hips grinded into each other in the process and both of them moaned at the sensation.

Yukimura could feel the evil smile spreading on Shinonome's face as it was pressed against his cheek.

When the sasquatch loosened his hold on Yukimura, he grinned down at him.

"So," he said, stretching the word, "I think it's time for your punishment."

What the hell?

"What are you talking about?!" Yukimura hissed back, trying to wriggle out of the hug, but Shinonome didn't let him.

"You didn't say it, so the logical conclusion is: I can have my way with you!" Shinonome said so matter-of-factly that in Yukimura, it woke the desire to punch him in the face.

Before he could say a word, Shinonome pulled his face in and pressed his lips hard against Yukimura's.

He rolled his hips on purpose, causing the redhead to moan into the fierce kiss. And he couldn't help it, his whole body shook with sexual desire. He really hated the fact that Shinonome had so much control over him. That he wanted him to stop and go on at the same time. It was maddening.

Shinonome proceeded to kiss his neck; only that this time, there was nothing innocent about it as he ravenously worked lips, tongue and teeth over Yukimura's sensitive skin, as if he wanted to eat him alive.

Mouth free again, Yukimura could at least complain.

"Stop! Shino- ah! You bit me!" He fought and wriggled, but Shinonome's vice-grip didn't budge an inch.

"Mhh, of course. You're very tasty," Shinonome replied with a smirk in his voice.

That bastard! Yukimura would have given him his special super sonic right fist, but Shinonome groped his ass and pressed him harder against himself, their crotches rubbing against each other again, and it felt so good, Yukimura couldn't bring himself to stop it. Or stop himself from moaning Shinonome's name.

Which was his mistake right there.

Shinonome, spurred on by Yukimura's obviously aroused reaction, dragged him over to the bed, pushed him down and climbed right on top of him before Yukimura could even lift a finger.

Shinonome's proximity, him straddling Yukimura, gliding his hands all over his chest and face, he didn't know what to do with himself. It felt so right but so wrong at the same time. And it did strange things to the redhead's heart and body.

Shinonome's skilled fingers quickly undid his belt and zip, and dismissed his pants to the floor.

Yukimura wanted to turn over, as always, too embarrassed to look Shinonome in the eyes. But his stubborn boyfriend held on to him like that, and he let it happen.

"Ah... Shino... nome, st-op!" But his half-hearted attempt was quickly stopped by a long, wet kiss.

Shinonome began to stroke and loosen him at the same time, and he felt so dizzy and hot from the mounting pleasure that when Shinonome pushed into him, long and hard, he almost lost it.

"Yuki-chan."

He opened his eyes to see Shinonome's face so close to his own, his boyfriend's eyes locked with his.

"I love you."

Shinonome tore him apart, just like that. He could feel how his emotions came through in his expression. It felt like he could explode.

"Shino... ah!" He started, but was momentarily distracted by Shinonome's quickening thrusts; they adopted a unique rhythm, just for the two of them, and it almost washed Yukimura away completely.

"Shinonome..." he managed to moan.

'I love you,' he thought.

But as Shinonome's thrust hit his sweet spot dead on and he climaxed, he couldn't even have told his own name.

"Yuki-chan~! Wake up~!"

Someone kissed his cheek, and his chest felt so comfortably heavy...

"Yuki-chan! Come on~!"

There was a soft pressure on his other cheek, and he moaned contentedly as it moved along his jaw.

"Yuki-chan..."

Wait. 'Yuki-chan'?

He cracked open his eyes and quickly sat up straight, brushing Shinonome's hand off his face and glaring down at the brunette.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Grinning, Shininome ran a finger up his spine, which send Yukimura shivering.

"Cut it out!"

"This is my bed, you know," Shinonome replied in his usual amused tone.

"D-doesn't matter!" Heat rose to his face. And to think that he had almost said it yesterday...

"Why don't you stay over more often?"

"NO WAY!"

"Geez, and here I thought there was some progress."

"You wish! Oi - let go of me! OI!"

POW.

"Yuki-chan... that hurt."

The surprise came when Yukimura, Shinonome in tow, opened the door to leave for school...
...and stopped dead in his tracks.

"Shuji-" his brother began happily, but as soon as he caught sight of the brunette, his face became stony.

"What are you doing here?"

And just like that, the atmosphere turned sour in the course of only a few split-seconds.

"A-aniki! We-" Yukimura started, but Shinonome pushed himself in front of him and took over.

"Yuki-chan just let me sleep over," he said coolly, mimicking Hajime's expression.

Yukimura really didn't like where this was going. A chill ran up his spine as Shinonome and his brother glared at each other for a moment.

"Anyway," Hajime finally said and looked at Yukimura, his face and tone instantly softening. "I've got something to discuss with you. You don't mind if I take you to school today?"

"Uhm..." Yukimura started again, briefly glancing at Shinonome and feeling utterly swamped. He could hear himself replying, but it didn't feel like it was him who did.

"No... I don't mind, I guess."

A dejected look crossed Shinonome's face, and Yukimura wondered why. But he didn't have the time to contemplate - his brother just grabbed his arm and dragged him forward.

"We'll be on our way, then. Don't be late for school, little follower."

"Later-" was all Yukimura managed to say to Shinonome before his brother dragged him away and into his car. When they drove off, Shinonome still stood in front of Yukimura's door.

The silence stretched on.

Under different circumstances, Yukimura would be happy to see his brother, who visited much too rarely. But this time... Just WHAT the hell was going on?

"Aniki...?" he asked tentatively.

His brother continued to watch the traffic around them for a while before replying.

"Shuji, what exactly is going on between you and that Shinonome guy?" he suddenly asked and Yukimura gasped audibly.

"Wha- what?"

"I'm not blind, you know."

Yukimura cursed himself. How could he of all people have ignored that? He should know that beneath that nonsense facade, his brother was quite perceptive. Always had been. And of course he would know. It probably wasn't even that hard to figure out if you knew what to look for. After all, Mikado had guessed as much, too.

Yukimura's heart started to slowly descend.

"That relationship of yours... is really troublesome."

The air grew cold all of a sudden, and Yukimura's hands cramped up around the seat's edges. Why was he so anxious? Didn't he always tell Shinonome to stop already? Wasn't this what he had thought himself?

"I don't think he's good for you, not to mention that he's a guy."

His brother's words felt like razor blades cutting his skin.

"He was the one that hurt you, right? When you lived with me."

Yukimura couldn't bring himself to talk past the lump in his throat. This whole situation felt so unreal; like a bizarre nightmare.

"If he didn't look like a Don Juan..."

"No! He's not... I mean... I..." Yukimura replied, but the words left him. His mouth didn't respond to his commands any more.

"Shuji," his brother said, as he neatly parked his car on a lot near the school gate. Without the softly humming engine, the place was silent as a grave.

"If he's not what he seems, then please prove it to me. Otherwise, I don't approve of this."

"...this?" Yukimura repeated weakly, staring ahead in front of him and feeling very much driven into a corner.

"Your relationship."

Yukimura was sure he had heard his heart crack at that moment.

"Understood?"

For a second, Yukimura wanted to tell him everything; that it was going on for a while now, and that Shinonome wasn't at all what his brother thought he was. But the second flew by, and he didn't.

Looking away again, he finally answered.

"Right."
