Chapter Text

Chapter 1:
The day was a bright one at the Maria de Guadalupe Airport. The bustling sounds of people talking, their suitcase wheels rolling was the melody that played. Inside the modern and fairly huge airport, more people were moving fast, trying to catch their flight along with TSA looking around, doing their jobs.
At this particular gate, Gate D20, to be exact, stood two people by the counter. This woman was smaller of the two and had a stern face with stress lines under her eyes. Her dark, black hair tied in a tight bun pulled her whole look together. Her pale skin contrasted her black, conservative suit and black heels. Her dark brown eyes eyeing the woman next to her with her arms folded across her chest.
This woman was taller than her by a couple of feet, 5 foot 9 inches, while the older woman stood at a solid 9 inches shorter. Her long, straight hair was a beautiful vivid green like a fresh summer grass in a low pony tail. Her skin was tan and soft like caramel. Her body was curvy with an ass and thick thighs to boot. She wore a white pussycat top with a black bow and black leggings and blue flats. Her blue eyes looking around nervously. Her long, slim fingers playing with the bow on her shirt.
The small pale woman smacked her hand lightly and sighed," Enough with the fidgeting, Olivia. I understand that this is something new for you but take this as another lesson for you."
Olivia bit her bottom lip in pain and rubbed her hand. "I can't help it. You know that I should be here with the police force to look for him. I cannot leave them and you behind. I-"
"I know but let me take care of them and I will handle him. This isn't what you are meant to do all your life. Running away from this shit..."
She mumbled.
"This was never your burden to deal with."
Olivia looked at the smaller woman's face, reading the way her eyes darkened and saw her hands grip the suit tightly. She winced slightly and nibbled her bottom lip with guilt rising in her chest.
"Senora Leona."
The older woman named Leona shook her head and smiled thinly at her, the corner of her eyes crinkling slightly. "Now, enough about that. I just want you to take what you learn over at U.A and take it to heart. Everything here will be taken care of. I mean-"
Leona chuckled and smirked.
"It's me we are talking about. The guys at the police office and I will get it taken care of, yeah? So stop worrying about it, coño."
Olivia looked at her worriedly, her blue eyes looked at her face to see if she was lying about her conviction.
She wasn't. Especially since Leona was glaring at her and mumbled once again to stop with the worrying by swatting at her arm gently. Olivia chuckled at the motion and rubbed where she was hit subconsciously.
Olivia felt better in her heart but it doesn't shake the uneasiness she felt in her stomach. Just nerves. Leona saw her face drop and placed her hand on Olivia's cheek comfortingly like a mother would. Olivia looked at her surprisingly. Leona stroked her soft cheek softly and said in an uncharacteristically soft tone:
"Olivia, after 7 years of me training you and us being damn near hip to hip... I would think you could trust me. I know everything that has happened was the result of-"
Olivia shook her head and smiled softly at her mentor. She grabbed her smaller hand into hers and held it, tightening it reassuringly.
"I trust you, Senora. I am just nervous of being in a new place again. I guess after the constant moving in my life that once I sink my roots in, it's hard to move again. I know you can take care of anything you set your mind to."
Olivia squeezed her hand again.
"Besides, I get to tell the police force that you have a soft side."
Leona blushed in embarrassment and swiped her hand away from her student's hand and grumbled while Olivia laughed. It was warm laughter that washed away all signs of nervousness.
20 minutes later, while Leona and Olivia were talking, the intercom started.
"Gate D20 is ready to board. Please ready passports and tickets to Tokyo, Japan."
Olivia immediately stiffened up and felt her heart race.
This is it.
Olivia turned to Leona and was about to open her mouth until Leona's hand was up over her face. Leona chuckled, her heading shaking side to side.
"Don't. You know how I feel about goodbyes."
She lowered her hands and Olivia grabbed Leona in a tight hug, her tears threatening to fall over her tan cheeks. The older woman gasped in surprise but smiled a true smile and hugged her back.
"This is your freedom. Please be safe. I will take care of everything. There will be someone waiting for you. Someone who I trust and known for many, many years. He will take care of you and anything you need."
Olivia nodded through her tears and hesitantly let go. She wiped her tears as she heard the intercom again.
"Gate D20 final call."
Leona turned Olivia around and slowly pushed her to the line. Olivia turned around and looked at her mentor for the last time. The last image she saw was her strong, stern mentor with tears in her eyes as she followed the line to board the plane.
As Olivia waited in line, she wiped her tears with hands. She has left countries before but this just hit differently. Especially since she will be in an entirely different country hours away. As she boarded the enormous plane, the friendly attendant smiled at her.
"Welcome to Air Angela. May I check your ticket please?"
Olivia did a small "ooh!" sound and looked in her small bag. She pulled out her ticket and showed it to her. The friendly flight attendant looked and motioned for her to sit in first class. Olivia bowed slightly, saying a quiet thank you and went to her seat.
It was massive! It was almost a whole suite. She placed her bags down and sat in the seat. "How did she even get this seat? This must have costed a whole fortune." Olivia mumbled.
The seat had enough leg space for her to recline fully. She looked around her little space. A 15" tv screen softly played airplane music was in front. There was a barrier to left of her that she can close if she wanted. She found the remote for the chair that can let her seat turn into a whole bed amongst other things that you wouldn't find in a typical economy class seat.
Olivia sighed and looked at her phone. It was 3pm and people were still boarding. Crossing her one leg over the other, she leaned back and closed her eyes.
Everything was so surreal at the moment. Everything she went through was a distant memory but...
A flash of Leona's face came in her mind a tinge of pain hit her square in the heart.
She placed her hand over her heart and thought to herself. "Senora Leona. Please be safe while I am gone, okay? I'll come back home soon."
Suddenly, she felt the plane move. As the flight attendants started to talk about flight safety, she leaned further into the seat and listened to the women talk. As they finished, the place took off.
Olivia felt the pressure build as she climbed into the sky smoothly. She breathed in and out as her body started to relax. Flying, whether it be by plane or if she flew in the sky, made her relax and feel safe.
Her blue eyes closed as she felt herself doze off. Her dreams of flying littered her mind.
A few hours later, she felt the plane jar her awake, causing her to snap open and scan her surroundings. Olivia realized what was going on and sighed as she placed her hand over her heart.
"My god, I gave myself a heart attack."
The flight attendant spoke over the intercom in their usual cheery face," Welcome to Tokyo, Japan. Thank you for flying with us. We will be taxiing shortly."
Olivia sat up straight and started to stretch. Yawning, she rubbed her eyes and smiled. She was actually excited for this when not too long ago she was nervous. As the plane slowly taxied to one of the gates, people started to get up, causing Olivia to get up. She grabbed her things and exited the plane.
As she entered the airport, her eyes twinkled at everything around her. A new place, new experiences... She cannot wait! She walked to the baggage claim area as she looked around. The massive airport took her breath away. As she reached her destination, she went to look for her luggage until she spotted it next to three people. Well, two buff bodyguards and a dog-cat person thing.
Olivia tilted her head to the side curiously and walked up to the people.
"Um... T-That's my-"
The dog-cat person thing spoke up with a smile. "You must be Olivia Bird that Leona spoke highly of," he gave a friendly bow and smiled," Welcome to Tokyo! Come. We have lots to talk about." The dog-cat person turned on his heels and proceeded to walk. The two buff bodyguards eyed Olivia as they grabbed her things.
Olivia's hair stood on end and looked at them cautiously. She proceeded to walk as she clutched her bag to her. "God, it feels like I am being escorted to prison," mumbled Olivia. As they exited the airport, they walked towards a black van. The bodyguards loaded her things up while the dog-cat thing got in. Olivia eyed the car suspiciously when the dog-cat thing smiled at her.
"No need to worry. I know this is unnerving for you but I'll explain more in the car."
Olivia eyed the dog-cat thing but got in. The seats were facing each other so she sat on the opposite side of this animal. She started to study him. The animal wore a suit but has a scar on his right eye. His black eyes were warm and friendly.
"I wonder if this is the person who is supposed to pick me up?" Olivia thought, remembering what Senora Leona told her before leaving.
As Olivia heard the door close, they proceeded to drive. Her fingers proceeded to fidget it with her bow and felt claustrophobic. Her eyes looking around to see if there was a place to escape.
"Well, I knew you were very cautious but never did I expect that you were this nervous. Don't worry, Miss Bird. Leona is a very good friend of mine."
Her eye snapped to the dog-cat thing and blinked at her mentor's name being mentioned. "W-Wait so are you the... person that I-"
"One and the same. I am Nezu, the principal of U.A where you will be staying at and teaching!"
Olivia's eyes grew big and then felt her fingers fidget more. She remembered her mentor talking about U.A before but... she couldn't remember the rest since it was brought up suddenly. Olivia said softly without thinking," Oh I must have zoned out at that part of the conversation with her."
Nezu smile reassuringly. "You are going to be just fine. Now, you will meet all the teachers and we will all get to know each other before you start teaching, hm? We will start slow, let you see how we run the class."
Olivia nodded and tried to ease herself into the seat.
"I hope so."
After a few minutes of silence, they arrived at U.A. She looked at the massive school and felt, somehow, smaller than before. The car slowly pulled into the driveway of smaller, what looks like, an apartment building.
Olivia looked up at the building and oddly felt safe. Weird feelings.
"Well, here we are. Please let us know how you feel in the morning okay? Stay safe, Olivia-san."
Olivia turned to Nezu and nodded at him with a worried smile. She got out of the van and the one of the bodyguards handed her luggage. Olivia grabbed them and looked at him nervously as he handed her the room keys that said "42".
The bodyguard nodded slightly and bowed to her. She did the same and stood as the van drove away. Olivia sighed and faced her new dwellings.
Well, at least it seems okay for the most part.
Now it's time to settle in.
