Work Text:

"hyung, there's nothing to do," the maknae of enhypen complained to sunoo as he came out of the kitchen, holding a cup filled with lukewarm water.

maybe he shouldn't have been so excited that the rest of the members were leaving them alone for an entire week when they went to visit their families. sunoo had stayed behind as he'd felt a little unwell, and riki couldn't go for - obvious reasons.

he'd been looking forward to spending time with sunoo, but the older had felt too sickly the past few days to do anything with ni-ki. all he could do was to cuddle next to sunoo, keep him warm, and hope that the headache sunoo had been having would subside soon.

so he plopped down beside sunoo on the couch, who was cutely wrapped up in his hoodie, his hands making sweater paws. the latter instantly looked up as he did so, reaching out his arms and making grabbing gestures. his eyes were gleaming lustrously, and his face had more colour than it had the past few days.

a glimmer of hope simmered in ni-ki's heart.

"kiss," sunoo whispered hoarsely, reaching up a hand to trace it along his cheek. the warm touch left tingles behind. ni-ki sighed inwardly - sunoo didn't exactly sound like he was fine, but he did look fine. if the colour lighting up his cheeks was an indication, he was feeling a lot better than yesterday.

he gently placed down the cup of water, hearing the glass clink against the coffee table, and then wrapped his arms around sunoo's small waist, pulling him closer. as if on instinct, sunoo tilted his head towards his face, his eyes filled to the brim with adorable eagerness.

but ni-ki couldn't just begin to kiss him like that, could he?

he laid the palm of his hand across sunoo's forehead, searching for any warmth that was too hot for his comfort, and he was surprised to find that the skin held a significantly less amount of warmth compared to the other times he'd checked his temperature. however, it still seemed slightly warm, and sunoo shivered a little under his touch, concerning him.

"you still have a slight fever," he murmured, dropping a gentle kiss on his hyung's cheek as he pouted, looking genuinely disappointed. "you sure you're up to it?"

when he drew away, sunoo was nodding slowly, sticking his chin out slightly. "if i wasn't, riki, i wouldn't be asking for it," he sassed, a hint of his usual character showing through his cold.

and ni-ki chuckled at this, feeling affection for sunoo fill his body. his boyfriend was truly precious, with shiny brown orbs, slightly tinted red ears, fluttering eyelashes. he was always so cute, so sassy, so adoring - ni-ki could never get tired of him.

so he shrugged, placed a hand on the nape of sunoo's neck, and leaned in, pushing sunoo's chest so that he lay against the couch. a tiny smile began to appear on sunoo's face, his lips curling upwards steadily.

"you're beautiful even sick," ni-ki mumbled around sunoo's lips, calmly pressing kisses against sunoo's lips even though the older kept smiling bigger and bigger. he brought his left hand up, finding the slender fingers of sunoo, and entwined their hands together, feeling the smoothness of his boyfriend's palm against his.

sunoo just hummed, unable to say anything, his eyes closed lightly as he deepened the kiss by tilting his head, his other hand sliding up ni-ki's back. it sent shivers down his spine, but nevertheless he enjoyed the feeling.

ni-ki would have loved hovering over sunoo like this, but he was afraid that the latter would feel suffocated with him right above his body, so he nudged sunoo closer to the edge of the couch and slotted himself in between the backrest of the couch and sunoo, instantly bringing him for another kiss.

maybe he was a little too enthusiastic and touch-starved because sunoo had been sick the previous days, and had not been in the mood for any form of physical contact other than small pecks and hugs. in a quick motion, he'd completely devoured sunoo's lips, swiping his tongue over them while tugging on the hem of his hoodie. he wanted it off so badly, but he knew sunoo'd be cold, so he resisted the urge to just slip it over sunoo's head.

instead, he sighed happily into sunoo's mouth when he parted his lips pliantly, their tongues meeting in an instant. they'd done this so many times before that they hardly needed to put any thought into it. it came as naturally as breathing and blinking did.

sunoo was so addictive - with his creamy strawberry taste tipped with the smallest hint of mint, with an adorable personality and a pretty face to match. ni-ki was one to pay attention to the little details; he was sure that if he tried hard enough, he'd be able to make a smoothie that replicated how sunoo tasted like. anyways, if he ever needed reference, sunoo'd be there waiting, wouldn't he?

he decided to go easy on sunoo, knowing that he was on the road to recovery, and opted to just twirl his tongue in neat circles, teasing the older a little. he could sense sunoo's growing desperation, his tongue flailing around in his mouth, trying to find ni-ki's. but ni-ki was too busy memorising the space laid out for him, grazing the tip of his tongue along even the inner side of sunoo's cheeks.

they were almost as soft as the outside.

sunoo whined breathlessly into his mouth, his blocked throat causing his voice to come out rumbly instead of the relatively high pitch it was usually in. ni-ki instantly felt his heart flame with want - he'd never heard this from sunoo, and he wasn't sure he'd ever hear it again.

so, he attempted to make sunoo make more noise.

he lowered his head downwards, and started caressing the column of sunoo's neck with his lips, neither kissing it nor biting it. just light grazes. sunoo whimpered lowly, a similar sound to before emerging from the back of his throat.

ni-ki would have carried on - hell, he'd have taken sunoo all the way if he hadn't been feeling unwell - but he was struggling for air and was pressed up against the back of the sofa. he was nearly sinking into the pillows.

"scoot over, hyung," he instructed softly, "i have no more space."

he hadn't even unlatched his lips from sunoo's neck nor had he taken his hands off sunoo's waist, but somehow, all of a sudden, sunoo had dropped right off the couch while scooting backwards and slid onto the ground with a raspy shriek.

and in all honesty, ni-ki remained frozen after that, still on the couch, debating on whether to burst into laughter or to go down and comfort his boyfriend. of course, he chose the latter. sunoo looked close to tears anyways.

he slid off the couch and knelt down beside sunoo, embracing him in a tight, protective hug and whispering in his ear, "love, are you okay?"

when he didn't get a response, worry pierced him, sharper than an arrow, and he leaned back to press their foreheads together. when he did so, he noticed a tear running down the side of sunoo's face. it sent sympathy and concern through him.

"are you okay?" he repeated, kissing the tear away at once.

sunoo nodded quickly, proceeding to laugh in spite of himself, surprising ni-ki. "my head hurts, though," he mumbled cutely between a mixture of hiccups and giggles.

he was so adorable like this. ni-ki felt the need to start laughing as well, as he pressed quick pecks to the temple of sunoo's head and slid his hands to sunoo's thighs. his hyung leaned into him, humming quietly, throwing his arms lazily around his shoulders. ni-ki heaved him into his arms, pushing down sunoo's head onto his left shoulder with two fingers.

sunoo chuckled and gave a languid but long kiss to ni-ki's jawline. there were sparks underneath the skin where his lips touched.

"you're still pretty like this, hyung, i love you," ni-ki found it necessary to blurt out, carrying sunoo to their room after picking up the glass of lukewarm water. he handed it to sunoo and instructed him to drink it, ignoring the frown that began to form on the older's face.

but he drank it all anyways, handing the glass to ni-ki once he was finished.

satisfied, ni-ki put it on their desk and hopped into the bed beside sunoo, clinging to him like a koala.

he really looks like the most beautiful thing in the world. he thought, smiling to himself as he buried his nose in sunoo's chest. "let's cuddle, hyung?"

sunoo let out a murmur of agreement, and shifted closer to him. ni-ki took this opportunity to sink his fingers into sunoo's hair, knowing internally that this was a sensation that his hyung liked, especially when he playfully carded them through locks at a time.

"you should sleep, hyung," he whispered, putting his other hand on sunoo's stomach, rubbing circles with his thumb on it.

"okay," sunoo mumbled sleepily in response, his eyelids drooping. "i love you, riki."

how's he this tired already? ni-ki wondered, amused, but he closed his eyes, pulling the blanket to their shoulders before tugging sunoo as close as he could.

and although he wasn't sleepy himself, nor sick in any way, he managed to fall asleep with the help of sunoo's warm presence and his strawberry smoothie scent.
