Chapter Text
He killed his first victim when he was around 6.
It wasn´t even his fault. At that point, he didn’t know much about morality. Who could blame him? He grew up in a military station as a test subject, where they were not taught to understand morals. The only education he got was how to follow orders, and to kill people. From time to time, he got to listen to stories that older people told to the others he shared a room with. But they didn’t tell the stories to him. He was different than the others. While there were many differences, like skin-color, some had horns, others had a tail, he always felt mentally different. The others talked and played with each other when they were finished with their tests, but he was always the first to get called and the last to return. And most of the time he was way too tired and exhausted to even listen to the stories of the elders. It wasn’t that bad, he didn’t know anything else, so when he was brought to another room one day after a very painful test, it was a little irritating for him. The room was way smaller and he was also the only person in it. Other than that, nothing changed. He still got to do his tests each day, eat what they gave him and went to sleep.
But one day, everything changed. Normally he sat awake in his bed by the time he was collected for his daily tests (even though he didn’t know if it was day or night, because they had no windows). He was woken by 2 girls.
“Hey! Wake up, we need to leave”
It took some time until the boy woke up. He needed his sleep; the tests were tiring. He didn’t realise what was going on at that moment, but the red lights in the hallway outside his room meant nothing good. He had seen those once at a test, when the room he was in shook and one of the others broke through a wall and killed 3 scientists, before the security could kill the child.
“That takes way too long, just carry him!” the girl, who stood at the entrance to the room shouted as she looked back at the girl in front of him.
The girl looked at him for a moment before she looked back at the other girl. She sighted but picked him up either way.
“We have to leave, now!” The girl ran out down the hallway, not waiting for the other to follow behind.
As the boy took a look at the girl carrying him in the red light, he noticed that she was older and bigger than him. Her short white hair stopped around her jawline, and her skin wasn’t much darker. He also noticed that one of her hands, the one who was holding his legs, was wet and sticky. He knew what it was. Blood. She followed the other girl, who had long black hair, down to her waist. Around the hallway were dead bodies, some with armor, some without, others with ripped out limbs. They ran a while until they reached the outside. It was a battlefield. Burning vehicles, destroyed buildings and dead bodies everywhere. He saw armored people shooting at running scientists who tried to reach a vehicle.
One of the armored guys shouted something to his companions that the boy couldn’t understand. But soon after, 12 armored people came running in their direction. The other girl jumped forward and ripped his hand from the body, skilfully fighting the others, before they could shoot. She was fast.
The boy watched the girl slaughter the people apart, not knowing what to do. But soon everything would change for him and his new companions.
