Work Text:
Josuke and Okuyasu sat in a quiet part of the coast. Both of them barefoot, sand seeping through their toes, into the folds of Okuyasu's plaid hazel brown suit and Josuke's Prussian blue uniform.
Morioh's coast hasn't changed that much over the course of years. It was the same crazy noisy bizarre town to spend a good time with family or friends in summer, even with all the foreign investment that came in recent decades.
With his gaze towards the horizon, Josuke was mesmerized watching the waves of the sea. He remembered many of the summers he spent with his friends on school days, the times Jotaro and the old man came to see him, the girls he dated with... many of those things changed, but not Okuyasu.
Friend of adventures, both took different paths in life, Josuke as a policeman like his grandfather and Okuyasu a sales agent for a furniture business. Okuyasu was still the same cheerful guy he met in the summer of '99, even with the rheumatism and thick glasses he was wearing now. And he loved that.
Adult life and responsibilities made it very difficult to to see each other often. It got even harder when Okuyasu married the woman he met when he went out with him, Rohan and Koichi to a bar to celebrate the latter's bachelor party.
Okuyasu always added new details and stuff to the story every time he told it. It was nice, everything was fun and games until he pokes him for being single because of his police work. But back to the present, being a sixty-something man, didn't matter that much he remained single, friends are enough for him.
Josuke smiled, he couldn't say for sure if it was the sea breeze or the moment, but an immense happiness filled his body from head to toe.
“I'm so glad to be with you." He said softly.
Okuyasu laughed, "Me too, dude. Me too…"
