Three hours in Shoto’s valorant collaboration stream with Shu, Fulgur, Rosemi, and Gumi, he felt something itch his gut. He wasn’t sleepy or tired, he still gets picks in the game, one-tapping them and all, but something suspicious was crawling up his legs, and he despises it. Finally reaching their match point in their 12-11 ranked game, Shoto sat himself up in his seat, lightly stretching his neck due to the fatigue accumulating from playing 4 rounds before.
“ah, 왜 그래애?! in main– here, here!” Gumi pinged the map when she was killed by the operator-wielding Reyna.
“Shou, I’m flashing,” Shou? Shoto perked up from his seat, not used to Shu calling him by his nickname on stream. “...in 3, 2, 1,” he followed up with KAY/O’s flash, making space for Shoto to rush the site.
“One orange, one back site,” Rosemi piped up during her Yoru ultimate. “Careful, Shoto! They’re planting right now.” Shoto nodded his head, his model carefully picking up the movement. His mouth opened lightly– damn, are we gonna clutch this?
Shoto’s eyes scanned the monitor screen, reloading his vandal while waiting on the cubby of Breeze. To be perfectly honest, the nerves were getting to him– from his viewers and the presence of Shu’s KAY/O in front of him. Shu Yamino; a constant source of comfort for him, making him feel nervous despite having collaborated in different games a lot of times? Something was clearly wrong.
Shoto prided himself to be someone who can be calm at clutch situations, even in valorant. With being a demon slayer and all, stealth and patience was something that he learned the very hard way. Though in some occasions, he cannot help but be loud and panicked, especially in valorant. Not because he’s scared or anything, not at all! But now, Shoto can’t help but feel his nerves coursing through his body, feeling some of the sweat from his mouse that seemed to increase every tick the timer gives. He leaned in towards his monitor, concentrating on the fact that it was a 3v5 situation when Fulgur was killed three seconds in when he pushed through mid, while Gumi was sniped when pushing through A main.
“Shou,” Shoto’s streak of concentration broke as shu called his name–nickname!–again.
“Yeah, Shu?”
“Let’s push, Rosemi’s got an angle on bridge and they’re mainly on backsite or doors right now.” Shu began, speaking up with his irritatingly handsome voice. “I still have one flash–” Shoto immediately panicked when Shu cut himself off and seeing Shu’s character dead in front of him. “Oh, nevermind then.” Shu laughed at the thought that he was killed while attempting to push.
A series of “Shu!”s and laughs are heard, Fulgur’s kettle-like wheeze cutting through everyone’s cackles. Shoto whined, dragging out the last letter of Shu’s name. “That was my b, my b.” The sound of Shu’s giggle was heard one more time, making Shoto’s ears flame up. “Reyna was on doors though,”
Hearing someone going through A main, Shoto prepared himself to shoot, lightly moving towards a good angle when an enemy shows up. And as expected, a Sage walked through without noticing Shoto, tapping her head like it’s no big deal.
“Nice, Shoto!” He heard someone scream, probably from Gumi, before hearing another pre-fire from the enemy team. Shoto’s mouth opened once again as a Skye blind comes through the entrance. “Ah, fuck–” he said- the green and white colors from the Skye bird almost blinding him. Thinking that he was going to die, he let go of his mouse until he heard Rosemi’s operator reverberating in the discord call.
“Oh, thank god, Rosemi!” Shoto exclaimed, clumsily sitting up his seat properly again. This was probably one of the most sweatiest games Shoto has played– and Rosemi’s clutch made it even more sweatier than it was. Jesus Christ, this was even more nerve-racking than when he was fighting a powerful demon a week ago.
Moving his crosshair from main to pyramid, he waited for them to peek; waiting for the red border of the enemy character to pop up. A few ticks and Chamber followed by Omen peeked out, Shoto’s hands held the left click mouse button, killing both enemies when both of them stacked together in one place. “Nice, Shou!”
Shoto let out the breath he was holding, blinking profusely as the thought of him getting 2 kills sank in. He fixed his position again, his nervousness decreasing when he noticed it was a 2v1 situation. “She’s still at doors!” Rosemi screamed, the fallen Yoru voiceline ringing through everyone’s headphones.
never fucking mind then.
The nervousness he felt before came back to him like a raging tide, a string of curses playing through his brain. He waited again in the corner, the ticking of the spike and whatever his friends were saying being the only noises he heard and oh shit , he heard Reyna’s eye beside him.
“She’s there from doors,” Gumi says, pinging the position of the Reyna he was supposed to kill.
a breath, he rushed out of cubby seeing Reyna oblivious of his position, and tapped her head. after blinking, the screen showed the kill animation, Shoto letting out a sigh of absolute relief.
“Let’s go, baby!”
“Shoto with the 4k!”
“GGs everyone!”
“Oh my god,” Shoto leaned back to his seat, “I didn’t expect to clutch that.” running his hands through his hair. He pressed the W button on his keyboard, taking his knife out, and walked towards the spike; defusing it.
“Nice shots, baby.” Shu’s voice cut through everyone’s cheers, mindlessly complimenting Shoto with his shots. What? Shoto thought he’s hallucinating, delusional even.
Shu Yamino called him baby on stream.
(What the fuck are you planning now, Shu Yamino?)
Shoto saw his model registering his shocked face, no words coming out from his mouth. “Baby? Shu?” Fulgur helpfully quipped for the team, confusion obviously seeping through his voice. “Ayo?” Rosemi said, also flabbergasted at the fact that Shu Yamino easily said things that will make his fans go insane.
This fucking guy. Shoto hates him. Shoto hates everything Shu Yamino does; the sweet saccharine smiles he gives Shoto every time they wake up together, the shy tugs he does on Shoto’s sleeve when he wants something from him, those striking purple eyes that seem to know everything when he looks at Shoto, the kisses he puts everywhere, his voice that makes Shoto melt everytime he says-
“Oh my god, Shu…” Shoto’s microphone picked up the exasperated phrase he just said. “Oh… I kinda forgot we’re streaming, oops.” Shu sheepishly replied, a giggle following after.
This was the answer to that itchy, uncomfortable feeling Shoto had earlier, it was the only answer that can fit to why he was a nervous wreck. He wanted to curse himself and his gut, maybe even dissolve from the earth, because why and how– of all the things, did Shu Yamino just do that? everyone has that lingering image of Shu Yamino as someone who was unmoveable as a mountain; unfazeable, ever-stoic, and secretive. Shoto even believed that he would be the one who would accidentally expose their relationship, not Shu Yamino!
The fabric of the universe was tearing– Enna and Kyo were right.
Shoto hid his face behind his hands, the sleeves of his jacket grazing his face rather roughly. “Shu…” He whined again (how many times can this man whine in a span of a whole livestream?).
“Wait, is this for real? Like for real, for real?! Like, no cap?!” Gumi screeched.
“...Woah, woah, woah. Wait a minute,” Everyone had gone quiet at Fulgur’s tone of voice, as if he was calculating what just happened. “Shu– the same Shu Yamino we know, calls you baby off-stream? Yaminions, your oshi has been playing favorites behind your backs!”
Shoto, for the lack of a better word, screams. He was always good at that. “Shu!”
“Sorry, baby, it just slipped,” Shu said, hopefully helping Shoto to not panic, ultimately failing when Shoto screamed again, his voice heard farther away as he jumped to his bed.
The whole ensemble laughed, “Don’t look at me, don’t look at,” Shoto finished with a groan. “I knew something was wrong– I knew it! Shu Yamino, you don’t understand, you will always be the death of me, oh my god, don’t laugh!”
Rosemi, planning to tease Shoto more, joked: “Shuto, ayo?”
“Ayo, confirmed?” Shu replied. God bless this man for still riding on everyone’s jokes.
“Shut the fuck up, Shu!” Shoto whined, again . It seemed like whining was the only thing he could do for now. And of course, Shu Yamino fucking laughed at it.
“Anyways, yeah, that was my last one,” Shu steered the conversation away from them naturally. “I need some rest.”
“Oh, are you going her-” Shoto cut himself off by slapping his hand over his mouth, cursing his loose mouth.
“HERE?!”
“Uhh,” Shu muttered, smile creeping up to his voice. “Maybe?”
“Oooookay! That was my last one too,” Shoto nervously laughed. “Thanks for the games today, guys!” He finished, flawlessly fumbling over his words.
Gumi, Fulgur, and Rosemi only giggled, thank god , and said their thanks too as Shoto and Shu left the discord call.
“...Yeah,” Shoto took deep breaths, fanning his cheeks to get the red flush out of it. “I don’t even want to talk about it.” He sees his chat go crazy, ranging from ‘oh my god’s to ‘tskr’s and to ‘me when’s.
As his chat goes to a manic episode, thankfully not pressing Shoto about the mind-breaking situation, the door opened to reveal Shu Yamino in all his glory. “Wait guys, the door opened,” Shoto stood up, walking over to his annoyingly endearing lover, then proceeded to talk in hushed whispers.
“Shu, what are we gonna do?” Shoto looked down on his feet, worried about what other fans and Shu’s company would think of the recent development. Shu sat down on Shoto’s (and his) bed, grabbing Shoto’s hand and carefully massaged it. His face showed a small but soft smile, one that was capable enough to bring Shoto to paradise. Shu raised his head, purple reaching purple, giving Shoto another smile that finally reached his eyes.
“I already talked to the company about it,” Shu began, carefully wording his sentence, still fiddling with Shoto’s slightly shaking hands. He pulls on it, successfully tugging Shoto down from his initial standing position. Shu’s other hand travels from the soft blanket of the bed to Shoto’s equally soft cheeks, thumb rubbing Shoto’s cheekbones as his eyes wander left to right of his lover’s dark purple eyes. “It’s okay, Shou. You don’t have to worry.”
Shoto’s eyes softened, “Okay.” He then tilted his head to nuzzle at Shu’s palm, lightly pressing his lips on the calloused hands that always held him.
Shu stood up and leaned forward, hands from Shoto’s cheek moving to brush the taller’s bangs. touching their foreheads together, Shu replied: “Okay.”
“Want to greet chat?”
“Sure, Shou.”
Shoto walked back to his chair, pulling Shu to sit first before sitting on his lap. he felt Shu’s arms go around his waist, softly hovering one hand on the clasped pair of arms. He gave on last look to Shu before addressing the ever-active twitch chat.
“I’m back!” Shoto cheerfully said. “So… since Shubert and I kinda, y’know, spilled things earlier,” Feeling a soft breath come out of Shu from his nape, a smile crept up his lips.
“Say hi, Shu.”
“Eyyy, hi guildies!” Shu greeted them, grin plastered on his face as he focused on the chat window Shoto had. “Sorry for spoiling the surprise, that was my bad,” Shu giggled as he hooked his chin on Shoto’s shoulder, tightening his hold more on his lover that was sitting on top of him.
Reading the chat, Shoto spotted some comments saying that it was okay, some even spammed their alleged ship name ‘Shuto’. For the longest time, he felt thankful to his companions for always being understanding and open with new ideas, and he could not have it any other way. Shoto had always regarded his guildies as his safe space, and with the recent exposing of their relationship, he felt more content than ever; his two safe spaces slowly colliding and melding with each other.
“Yeah, um,” Shoto’s model visibly wiggled, “Shuto real?” he finished before promptly bursting into laughter that sent both of them reclining from the chair. Shu’s laugh was also picked up the microphone, though muffled a bit as he was farther back. Shu sat himself back, gently moving– carrying –Shoto to his other leg and letting him get comfortable with his position.
“I’ll definitely tell the story soon, guys– but this guy here,” Shoto looks back to Shu whose eyes were drooping. He’s so cute when he’s sleepy , Shoto thought. “is almost sleeping like a cute little puppy and he needs his Shoto with him.” Shoto then received a groan from Shu who was softly nosing at the junction between his shoulder and neck.
“Noooo,” Shu scrunched his nose, eyes closing. “just keep talking, Shou. I really… really like it,” Shoto felt color rushing to his cheeks, stifling a smile that wanted to shape his lips.
He turned around the best he can because of their position, raising Shu’s head from his neck and held eye contact with him. “Okay, Shu.” tilting his face to the left, Shoto pressed his lips on Shu’s cheek, smack audible from the microphone. “I’ll just end stream, alright?” Meeting eye to eye, Shu gave him a sleepy smug smile, face clearly showing that he enjoyed the kiss he received.
Giggling, Shu mumbled out, “Hehe, Shou kissed me,” burrowing his face once again on Shoto’s neck, which was probably his second favorite spot on Shoto’s body, just a tiny bit below his hands. Shoto, visibly endeared, chuckled and tried to focus on saying farewell to his stream.

As he got into bed after seeing the replies to his tweet, Shoto noticed Shu’s presence beside him souring. Strong arms grabbed onto his waist, pulling him deeper on the bed, head settling just below Shu’s chin. The phone he held was forgotten fast and Shu took the opportunity to snatch it from him and prop it on the desk beside the bed.
“Shouuu, stop looking at their replies,” Shu mumbled, his voice void of the energy earlier, now flooded with sleepiness. “Sleep with me?”
Oh, Shu Yamino does not know the things he does to Shoto that’s for sure.
“What is with that wording…” Shoto whispered to himself, staring at the close-lidded sorcerer next to him. A puff of air, he snuggles further to Shu’s sweater, a soft smile framing his face. His heart is so full, and it’s continuously overflowing because of the man he was holding right now.
Arms wrapping around Shu’s torso, he answers: “Okay, Mister Yamino. I’m here,”
“See you tomorrow, Shou.”
“See you, Shu.”
At times like this, Shoto is loved, and the one who loves him is also loved by Shoto. A promise rings in their hearts; a promise to shower each other with love, to learn how to love more with the reason that they love to love each other back.
