。°˖ ✧ ១ Psyborg Angst| The Stars Are Dimming. 。°˖ ✧ ១

Summary:

Psyborg angst that I decided to write for Fulgur's upcoming fanfiction ASMR reading stream on Friday. Kind of rushed, and I can assure you that it is not beta-read so there might be some mistakes in the format etc.

Work Text:

"Fuu-fuu chan~" Uki lamented as he pouted, hugging Fulgur from behind. He had just returned from buying the groceries and wanted to surprise Fulgur. But he didn't know that Fulgur was, unfortunately, in a bad mood that day. Heaving a sigh, Fulgur pushed Uki away gently. "Sorry..Uki. I don't really want to talk right now. Can you..give me some space?" Uki's smug look was immediately wiped off his face and he nodded solemnly before sitting on the bed without a word. "If..you need to talk about it, you can talk to me about it." Fulgur nodded, not looking at Uki. "I will if I need to."

A few hours passed and Fulgur was still hung on the issue at hand, yet he didn't want to trouble Uki. Uki, who was in the kitchen preparing dinner decided to pop by to see what Fulgur would like to eat for dinner. "Fuu-fuu chan, what would you like for dinner? The groceries are fresh, I just bought them a few hours ago." - "Uki, didn't I say to leave me alone? I really need some time alo-" Fulgur was cut off by a seemingly annoyed physic. "I know that. I've given you ample hours of time alone, and I just want to know what you want for dinner, for god's sake! The food might help you feel better and resolve the problem quicker, for all you know!" He crossed his arms and waited for Fulgur's reply. "No. I'm not hungry, alright?" Uki persistently insisted that Fulgur needed to eat something as thinking on an empty stomach couldn't help, until Fulgur finally snapped.

Before Uki could react, Fulgur had landed a slap against Uki's cheek. "Wh-? What was that for?" Tears were brimming in his eyes, terrified and confused. "If you don't want to respect my decisions, please. Get out." Uki shook his head slowly, mumbling, "No..I don't want to leave you. I love you, Fuu-fuu chan. I would never leave you." - "Uki. Accept it. You're a physic, and I'm a cyborg. We'll never work out. I know you love me, and I did love you, but we no longer reciprocate this feeling. We should break up."

"What?" Uki dropped the ladle he had been holding, a loud thud followed by loud sobbing and sniffs. "You're joking. You're joking right, Fuu-fuu chan? You're not serious about this..are you?" A silent gaze. No words. Yet Uki had seen this look on so many people that he already understood his intention, and he nodded. "Alright. If you wish." He picked up the ladle and walked back to the kitchen to clear everything up and to pack his things. Once Uki left the room, Fulgur beat himself up for how he snapped at Uki. "God...I shouldn't have been so mean and aggressive towards Uki. What if he misunderstands? It was just in a fit of anger..."

A few hours later, the house was completely silent. Fulgur stepped out of his room after what seemed like a whole day, only to see that the kitchen lights and the lights to Uki's bedroom were switched off. Weird. Wasn't Uki cooking just a few hours ago? Fulgur immediately dashed into Uki's room. All his stuff was gone, with only a note left on the table.

📰- Dear Fuu-fuu chan, if you are reading this letter, I'm sorry for leaving so abruptly; but all I wish to do is respect your decisions. Though this decision of yours may have been made in a fit of anger, I don't want to hurt you and hinder you even more. I know that I am enough of a burden to you. Thank you for all the loving times that you have given me in our stay together. I have already made decisions on where to stay in the meantime. I hope that you can find yourself a better man or even a woman, perhaps that will treat you better than I did.

- Yours lovingly, Uki Violeta

Fulgur dropped the note. Panic filled him. He couldn't be losing Uki. Not now. He dashed out of his apartment and immediately searched for Uki. Purple hair. Purple hair, that's what he was searching for. He reminded himself relentlessly of his goal. He was so afraid to lose Uki. He loved Uki dearly, and he didn't want to lose him, he didn't want him to be in danger. He knew that Uki could do reckless things when he was helpless and emotional.

Just then, he spotted Uki. Briefly. In a blink of an eye, he was gone. Fulgur Ovid could've sworn that he had just seen Uki across the crowded traffic junction. He blinked quickly, making sure that he didn't see wrong.

No. Fucking hell. Not now. He was trying to search for Uki, urgently. He couldn't lose his only chance to explain and apologize for everything to Uki.

𝟷00% 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚎.

Just as he regained his mobility, he heard his familiar voice, shouting his name. But why was he?
"Fuu-fuu chan, watch out!"

Time stood still, every person and car quiet, and suddenly, a red liquid was all over his hands. Fulgur had fallen to his knees, with a bloody physic cradled in his robotic arms. "Uki..." He had just taken a car hit. For him. Tears started to roll down his face uncontrollably as his lover's wound was bleeding even more and more profusely by the minute. "You'll be fine, right Uki? You'll be fine soon. Someone call an ambulance. Please. he needs help." Fulgur croaked, not sure what else to say to make himself feel better about Uki's sacrifice for this. A warm hand caressed his cheek. "Fuu-fuu chan...I won't..make it. But thank you..for everything...remember..that I...will always..love you.." Uki's eyes fluttered for a while before he breathed his last.

No. He didn't just lose Uki, right in his arms. He had failed to protect his only lover. As he looked up at the evening stars, the stars seemed to flicker. They seemed to be dimming.
