Do dogs love heavy metal ?

Summary:

{ first of all fuck the ending of part 2 of season but not all of it !} Eddie needs a job that much is certain, he won’t find one in Hawkins that’s for sure . So a quick drive to the city has him finding a job at the most unexpected place. A metal head in a animal clinic is a bit odd but doable . However between dealing with four legged assholes who bite and dealing with his own memories, it Seems Eddie sorts kinda forgot to tell his friends what exactly his new job was leading to some …Wild strange conclusions from the party . ( I can’t do summaries but the gist is Eddie gets a job a animal clinic/pet resort and forgets to tell his friends who think he’s doing some extremely shady/risky behavior for money it’s as funny as it sounds . {{CHAPTER 4 Has been redone!!}}

Notes:

A/n: this is my first fanfic I’ve ever posted, I’m sorry for my writing I just kinda word vomit and fix as I go along . I also work at a animal clinic so updates might be sporadic .

Chapter Text

Chapter 1~~~~~~~~~~~

In Eddie’s defense he really really thought he had told everyone about his work.. well about what his work actually was. He had been working there for about a year and half now thank you very much, but considering the way everyone was crowding his newly refurbish and slightly bigger trailer home complete with vents on the floor and new carpeting (courtesy of your friendly neighborhood shadow government after you sign an NDA of course) well he was starting to think he actually did forget to tell them.

Now as to how exactly did he get here well.. that starts long before this extremely awkward intervention of sorts.

It was a few months after everything, El closing the gates him being wanted for murder and then nearly killed by the upside down, he had really thought he was dying in Dustin’s arms it felt like it for sure .. only to wake up in a Hosptial to the sounds of a group yelling and beeping machines And his bandaged arm handcuffed to the bed.

It had taken sometime and some threatening but eventually Super girl’s government friends gave up the idea of using him as a scape goat and cleared his name by swinging their badge around . They even set him and his uncle up with a new trailer thanks to ‘insurance’ from the earthquake . Of course they only got them the home the bills and rent were on their own. Gotta pay Uncle Sam and all and with Eddie more or less being kicked out of high school and forced to get a GED, (“For your own safety”Principle Higgins had said, Eddie still flipped him off as he left the building ) He knew his options were limited .

So now Eddie Munson was a free man, as much as one could be when the police were really wanting to Pin this on you and the rest of the town was still more or less scared/disgusted by you. It was a lot to take in, but he had people with him now, people who cared which was a first and very very new to him. However he could never really bring himself to try and talk to them about what he was feeling, it just didn’t feel right putting his burdens on his hellfire sheepies or Steve or Robin or even Nancy. He tried a few times but they just seemed really interested in burying the bad feelings and looking to the future . Always “don’t worry about it Eddie it’s in the past” or “hey come on let’s focus on the positives we got a whole future ahead of us!”

But Eddie didn’t have one, not when no one in this town would give him a damn job and bills were coming up and he really wanted to help his uncle. His status as the town dealer was more or less gone for now he was sure his regulars would come back after a while, they needed him .. he made sure of that, Addiction was hard too beat.

However in the mean time he really needed a job and money his last dollar had been stretch as much as it could , which is why he found himself driving almost 30 minutes to the city, to Indy looking for any type of job or even unclaimed turf to sell.

“Finished with my woman cause she couldn’t help me with my mind—“ he sung softly as he turned left on the main highway, fields and trees and scrublands slowly turning to farm houses which turned into small pockets of houses clustered together growing more packed as he left the small towns and entered the city limits. Indy was always so different then Hawkins, more accepting, more dangerous although recently Hawkins was starting to be the more dangerous place then the big city.

He was stopped at a red light under an overpass waiting to turn left to head deeper into the city, when he noticed a bright yellow sign with a basic looking outline of a dog and cat on both sides. { WrentWood Animal clinic and boarding} read the top part of the sign, underneath it on a faded marquee with half falling black letters read, { Now hiring!! Inquire inside!}.

Eddie never really had a pet before sure he had pet a few strays around the park but never had one of his own.. he was the last person he’d expect to be working at a Clinic and well wasn’t the best thing for him, something different something that no one would suspect and somewhere his past wouldn’t follow him . He wasn’t sure how widespread the news from Hawkins was but he hoped he had at least a better chance here then back home.

Making an impulsive decision something he was often known to do, he suddenly veered into the next lane ignoring the honks and pulled into the parking lot of the Vet Hosptial.

Rushing into the small waiting room, and most likely startling the poor reception staff he stood there like a deer in the headlights for a moment his brain completely blank before the kind looking elderly woman offered him a life line, “can I help you sir?”
“.. uh.. yes I .. I need a job” smooth Munson he thought as he glanced around the beige colored room with Wooden panels from the window sills down a few chairs and benches placed against the wall where a few clients were already siting their pets looking up happily at Eddie wondering if this new person would stop to pet them.

And that was how one Eddie Munson dressed in a Iron Maiden shirt and worn battle vest with torn jeans and messy mop of hair ended up the newest Clinic staff at Wrentwood’s. Now if only he could have remembered to tell his friends exactly what his new job was.
