Lando closed his eyes, blocking the sun from his sight. The cool air brushed his curls around while he laid on the towel, sand underneath his feet. The water and sky blended as one, a beautiful clear color that brought an unreasonable amount of joy in Lando’s chest. The beach they currently were at was beautiful, one of the best beaches they found.
Him and Carlos got married a few nights before, in front of close friends and family. His heart swelled at the memories, him and Carlos slow dancing to their song. Carlos’s vows rang clear in his head, lines that made Lando somehow fall deeper in love with him.
Lando, my love, my life, I honestly struggle for my words. I’m more of an action type of person and well, English isn’t my first language. But with you, I cannot stop my words.
When I met you, you were just a young Formula One driver with dreams higher than the sky that stands over us. You told me you didn’t believe in love at first sight and I don’t either. But I also will not lie, I wanted to know you more the moment I saw you.
Years past and I do not regret wanting to build a bond with you. And I never will because, Lando, I know you’re my soulmate. You give me strength and you make me realize that there is good in the world. You are the good, the light.
I love you Lando, forever is a long time, but with you, I want to spend forever and more together.
He smiled to himself, his joy cannot be put into words. He’s actually married to Carlos. He felt his ring on his finger, the gold a comforting weight.
He heard the sounds of Charles and Carlos running around, playing football.
Max laid next to him, his eyes fixed on his phone, his brow furrowed before he shut it off, shoving it into his and Charles’s beach bag. Lando raised an eyebrow at his friend’s behavior.
“Something wrong, mate?” He sat up, his elbows supporting his weight. Max turned, shaking his head. Lando could tell something was wrong, Max hardly looked this…nervous before. His foot twitched.
“I’m asking Charles to marry me tonight—“ Lando went to say something but Carlos kicked the ball too hard, almost hitting Max and Lando.
They both made incomprehensible noises while Charles smiled sheepishly, running over to grab the offending ball.
“Sorry, guys,” Charles said before picking the ball up.
“Sorry, cariño! Sorry, Max!” Carlos shouted and Charles ran off, both of them giggling. Lando couldn’t help but laugh, covering his mouth.
“Anyway, I’m going to propose, but I don’t want to steal yours and Carlos’s attention.” Lando laughed harder and Max gave him a confused look. He took a few deep breaths while Max’s confused look got a little more angry. “What’s so funny?”
Lando removed his hand, slapping it against Max’s shoulder. “Mate, you aren’t gonna steal our thunder. It’s our honeymoon, the wedding is over. Even if you proposed at our wedding, I would’ve cried more tears of joy. You and Charles are my mates, I want what’s best for you. Don’t worry about attention or thunder, I don’t give a fuck about it and neither should you.”
“Mate, thank you so much. You’re right, I think I’m just nervous. I mean, he’s the one. I’ve never doubted it for a minute.” Lando smiled, his teeth showing.
“Maxy is in love with Charlie!” Lando giggled and Max rolled his eyes, huffing but with a smile on his face.
“Yeah…holy shit, mate! Charles is going to be Charles Leclerc-Verstappen. I mean, that’s if he wants to take my last name. I know I’m going to take his,” Max rambled.
“Marriage is great but what do I know, I’ve been married only two days.” Lando shrugged, falling flat on his back again.
A shadow loomed over him, blocking the sun. He opened his eyes to see his husband—his husband!—standing over him. His dark hair was ruffled, light sheen of sweat covered his beautiful skin. He looked so good in those black swimtrucks, hanging low on his slim waist. He grinned, Carlos leaned down, kissing his nose.
“I was thinking we can go shower and get dressed for dinner?” Carlos’s voice hid the fact it was code for fucking in the shower then nap then fuck again before getting ready.
“Sounds good, let’s go Max,” Charles said, pulling Max up. He grabbed his towel and the bag while he was down, smiling and waving to the other two.
Carlos walked around, Lando opened his legs, Carlos kneeled in between them. He kissed Lando’s warm skin, his eyes fluttered shut.
“We’re in public, Carlos,” he mumbled, Carlos sighed, pulling away.
“What, you don’t want headlines to read, ‘Newlyweds caught fucking on beach’?” Lando laughed. It was true, he was weary of paparazzi. They both were, hating having people sneak around corners to get a good photo of them. He knew it came with being a Formula One driver.
“No, but our hotel is just a couple hundred yards away and our room has a balcony….” Carlos’s head shot up, his eyes comically wide. Lando put a hand on his stubbled cheek, he knew he had a cheeky grin plastered on his face.
“What, are you scared? Now, that’s just too bad—“ Carlos tackled Lando into the sand before pulling him up. His movements were urgent, Lando couldn’t help but oblige and follow his husband’s lead.

“Marry me? No, that’s stupid. Will you marry me?” Max mumbled to himself in the mirror, buttoning his white dress shirt. Charles was in the bedroom, putting his shoes on, oblivious to his boyfriend’s plans.
The box in his slack pants was heavy, a reminder of how his future can change with a simple word. His palms started to sweat, he clenched them. He’s never felt this nervous before, period. Not even before his first Formula One race, or during the last lap at Abu Dhabi.
He stared in the mirror, his reflection stared at him back. Charles walked in, his green eyes filled with confusion.
“Hehe, what are you—“
“Marry me.”
They both stilled, hearts leaped in throats.
The words spilled from his mouth and he cursed himself. He didn’t want to do it in a goddamn bathroom but he realized something. While marriage proposals are special, he knew the moment was right. Simple, domestic even.
“Max?” Charles’s eyes widened, Max turned, getting on a knee. He pulled the box out of pocket, opening the velvet box to reveal a silver ring. He opened his mouth but Charles put a ringed finger to his lips. He shook his head before going on his knees too. “Shh, just shh. Let me remember everything before you say anything.” Tears blurred Max’s vision.
Hope grew in his chest while Charles’s gaze flickered around, before settling on Max’s. They both shed tears, looking at each other. It took him a minute, trying to find his voice.
“Charles, will—“
“Yes.” Max’s smile was wide, he slipped the ring on Charles’s finger, and kissed him. Emotions ran high, both of them desperate while they clung to each other, wrinkling their clothes. They parted, foreheads pressed.
“You marry me?” Max continued and Charles chuckled.
“Yes, still yes.”
