Years go by
without even a sound.
The world seems so dull
without you in my arms.
These empty skies
remind me of your eyes.
I want to see your smile,
hear your laugh,
feel your hair.
But all I feel is despair.
I miss you,
I miss your touch,
the way your hand felt in mine.
I wish to see you once more,
before my inevitable end.
I can only pretend
that we can live in peace.
You’re as sweet as honey,
so kind and caring.
This world deserves no such person.
The one beloved by all,
is someone I can call a friend.
The one whose love knows no end.
You worked so hard,
for this love.
Should things worsen,
I shall give my life,
to protect what you have gained.
Your love will prosper,
it will be given to many.
You made this world better,
I won't let it be taken away.
I’ve gone away from such love,
I don’t feel worthy.
Though you still call me a friend.
It’s not something I can comprehend.
You still take my hand,
you still kiss my lips.
You give me everything I could ask for,
even though I can’t give you even half.
You never ask for more,
you don’t want more.
You just want me,
and I want you.
I’m away from home,
away from your embrace.
I’m in my own space.
Though, I still feel every bit at home,
just thinking of you.
The thought of you makes me warm,
Even in the middle of a storm.
Your being makes me calm.
You being safe is all I want,
all I need.
I am but a simple man.
The man you love,
the man you searched for,
the man you stayed with.
You are the man I love,
and you deserve more.
I wish you happiness
from the bottom of my heart.
We are worlds apart.
When I see you again is unknown,
but I will live for that moment.
