Summary:

For Starrison Week day 1: band.

Notes:

In which The Beatles show love by gently bullying each other.
Just something short to kick off Starrison Week. Starrison was my very first Beatles ship so I've got a soft spot for those boys.
Meant to take place during the filming of the Hello, Goodbye video.

Work Text:

George sang to the camera, bouncing up and down as he leaned his weight from one foot to the other. He wasn't particularly thrilled about filming a video for hours on end, but his mood picked up when he thought about Ringo sitting behind him at the drums, watching and smiling.

“Big smiles, Geo,” Paul remarked between takes. “What’s got you so cheery?”

Before answering, George turned around to see Ringo, his joy just as infectious as always. He turned back to Paul. “Just a nice day today.”

Paul rolled his eyes and chucked. “Uh-huh. More like cloudy with a chance of queers.”

“Oh, like you can talk.”

“You don't see me here making eyes at John all day,” Paul retorted.

With a huff, George replied “I do not make eyes.”

“Right, right. Just admiring the scenery, are we then?”

Right at that moment, John made a loud whistling sound and hollered "quiet, all you!"

George turned around before the cameras started rolling again, and he caught a glimpse of exactly what he wanted to see. There, smiling brightly, was Ringo.

As soon as he noticed George, Ringo blew him a kiss as best he could with a drumstick still in hand.

After that, the next few hours were a total blur to George. Whenever he felt like simply laying down on the ground and passing out, he thought about Ringo's sweet smile, and it gave him the boost he needed.

His daze was broken by Paul hollering "and that's a wrap, ladies and gents!"

George's attempt to run straight to Ringo was botched by John and Paul standing right in his path, nearly causing him to crash into them.

Paul's amused grin showed no signs of going away. "Slow down, Casanova."

"Why're you on my case so bad today, huh?" George inquired.

"You was staring off into space the whole time."

"Not too hard to figure out what he's been daydreaming about," John said, accompanying his words with a poorly-mimed blowjob.

George let out a cross between a sigh and a laugh. "Come on, I just love 'im. It's got nothing to do with shagging."

Giggling to himself, Paul quipped "nothing to do with shagging? Are you sure we're talking to the real George?"

"Surprises me too."

George turned around to see Ringo, already out of his costume and getting ready to head home.

"Oh, I'm not saying no if you want to sleep with me tonight, Rings."

Ringo wiggled his eyebrows in response.

"Who's on top?" John asked bluntly.

George and Ringo both replied "me" in unison, at the same time as Paul muttered "gross."

"Oh, yeah, gross," George said mockingly. "Like I haven't had to hear every detail of you two's sex life."

Paul rolled his eyes and laughed. "Yeah, yeah. Get changed and go home, Geo. I'm sure Johnny's going to press you for details about your shagfest next time he sees you, so get ready for that."

"Does that sound like something I'd ever do?" John asked with a pout.

"Yes," said the other three all at once.

The band laughed together as George grabbed his things and headed into the other room to change.

When he came back, John and Paul were on their way out, hand in hand as they talked and laughed together. George turned to Ringo with a soft smile.

"Milady," Ringo joked, holding his arm out. George hooked his right arm with Ringo's left, and they walked off together.

George cleared his throat. "So. Should we have a shagfest, or go see a movie?"

"There's time for both, right?"

"Of course."

"Great," Ringo said, smiling. A long pause ensued before he leaned his body close to George's and simply said "I love you."

The smile didn't leave George's face as he replied "I love you too."
