autumn, a calm, cold wind, some summer memories and empty roads jungkook found it perfect, perfect to sit on a bench and just get disoriented in the world in his pretty head, he liked the intimacy of nature like he liked it in his taste of men.
"Loving, sensible, mature men" if you ever asked him what he was trying to search for, were his answers for blind dates. He would have a good time, good laugh but none ever pulled that string of love from him.
He was used to it though, leaving every time with that hope of finding someone who makes his soul feel complete, but crushed by that same expectation every time, it's not like he hasn't tried dating past this stage but with time he just realised it useless. He likes this autumn but sometimes he wished, someone could take him past the winters to spring, a spring where his heart blooms, where he feels soulful.
Now the roads are cold, not just the wind, there is snow everywhere, and yet another call for a blind date from Jimin, he sighs, don't get him wrong, it's not that he is tired of jimin. He appreciates his friend's worry but he has learnt it in brutal ways, that none seems to make effort for intimacy with him and especially not the blind date guys.
he picks up the call, yet sighing another time when he listens the same line being repeated for the nth time ,"Hey jungkook, so i met this guy..." he zones out, thinking of all his past experiences they don't particularly hurt or haunt him but they do leave sour, sad lingering feeling of being failed in something, he snaps back when jimin sighs knowing jungkook is losing to the idea of finding "the one" but not giving anyone a chance, his view of life is just 'hit and trial' method if you ask him
He somehow manages jungkook to set up for this one by saying, that let's give this last shot before Christmas, next year jungkook won't hear from jimin about interfering his love life making jungkook chuckle, because even if he hates being bugged about it again and again yet he gets a good friend or just some random good spend weekend and a new story from new person he meets on these blind dates.
weekend comes jungkook is ready looking so heavenly (according to his roomate ). He steps out of home, not just ready physically but mentally, telling himself that he is just going with the expectation to make a new friend and not any love intrest, a few blocks away he sees someone crouching on road. handsome and pretty jungkook thinks. He snaps out of his thoughts reaches to the person, the long lashes guy looks up and sees an angel not exaggerating, literally an angel with the brown orbs, he would die for. They both sense the moment and break of eye contact, the angel like guy coughs and asks tae if he is trying to find something with those big eyes which makes him look so curious, tae smiles and stands up he is here on his way for a blind date and end up with meeting a random angel like buff bunnyboy, who is making his heart flutter, how movie like he thinks.
Nodding he says," yeah i had bought a little token for someone, I'm going to meet them today and a kid came running collided with me and it fell off my hand so i was finding it" Jungkook's ears perk up, he will get late for his blind date but fuck it, he just can't leave like this, when his heart wants to feel the calmness, the serenity this pretty boy has and wether he has to find some token- woken for this pretty guy, which he has to give to "someone else" he rolls eyes and starts finding. tae gets flustered from the attention for a minute but gets the message that this handsome stranger wants to help him,
After a bit struggle they end up finding it, it's etheral jungkook thinks looking at the pendant a pretty heart with a perfect pearl he had read somewhere pearls signify, " sincerity, new beginnings and purity of heart " it makes him smile he thinks does the pretty man infront of him knows this... is he giving with the message behind? or... did he just found it pretty and chose it as a gift? he shrugs his thoughts when the guy in front opens his palm, for a minute jungkook frowns but then with an embarrassing smile he keeps the pendant gently in his palm cursing himself for yet zoning out again seeing the pendant.
The pretty guy smiles and gives the most heart warming smile, jungkook might have seen in his life, his soft cheeks rising like bread and a heart wrenching square smile, neither do they exchange names nor their already whipped thoughts for each other, just some hushed thankyou and no problem and move but after sometime they realise they are going in same direction so breaking the tension tae asks in that deep unintentional seducing voice "where are you heading to? looks like we have the same route".
jungkook nods "i think so too and I'm heading to a dog cafe four blocks next", on hearing that pretty guys eyes become puppy like big and halts in step jungkook gets confused but when the other says he is heading to the same place. They both become joyful knowing they will get to spend some more time together. Names get shared and their boths love for dogs. When they enter the place giving their names to owner because apparently jimin had everything fixed already for their blind date as jungkook recalls the attendant comes to them and guides them to a table, for a bit... they both are trying to get themselves together for the blind date with "the other guy'' but as soon as they are both guided to same table. It finally knocks them that what they are here for and that's with each other. call it the spring coming, call it the Christmas gift but for first time jungkook feels like trying for more , feels happy for longing for that spring, and when tae just brings that pendant from his pocket out and opens his palm in front of jungkook again they both fall in fits of laughter. rest is the love journey with the pups they adopt from that cafe and on how jimin is always correct.
