Chapter Text
The Crow the most feared vampire in L’Manberg. No one knows who he is. Some say that he wears green robes. Other’s that he has an alluring voice. And some that he has golden hair. But they all agree on one thing, he has the most beautiful red eyes. No one who sees them makes it out alive.
Techno does not care. He walks the streets of the city, observing the stillness of it all. He wasn’t supposed to be on patrol tonight. Dream wanted him to hang out with him and his friends. Something about Techno needing to relax and not work himself to death for the organization.
Dream had no clue what he was talking about. Techno took care of himself (barely) and he slept (occasionally). Plus, Techno wasn’t a people person. Sure there was Dream his self proclaimed rival and Skeppy who was loud and dragged him places. But besides that, Techno didn't really know anyone. Everyone tended to take distance from him. They said he was cursed. His mother made a deal with the devil and that's why he was born with red eyes. Cursed to look like the very things he despises.
Techno took a deep breath, the cool night air filling his lungs and calming his mind. The night was quiet. Too quiet. Techno’s senses were high alert, nights like these were never a good sign. Quiet meant vampires and vampires brought death with them. He hoped that he wouldn’t have to face any.
In front of a dark alleyway was a lone shoe. “Oh no,” the hunter whispered. Techno picked up speed, unsheathed his dagger and hoped he wasn’t too late.
When he rounded the corner Techno couldn’t take his eyes off the scene before him. A kid, feeding on a man twice his size. It was a gory scene. The man's arm had been broken in several places and half his left leg had been ripped clean off. That man never stood a chance.
The boy looked at him with eyes so bright they glowed. When they locked eyes, Techno felt frozen in place. His eyes were rubies. They were beautiful.
“Hi,” said the boy, blood dripping from his mouth. “I’ve never seen you before. What’s your name?” He had a sly smile as he looked at Techno. He felt compelled to tell the boy his name. To spill out all his secrets and then some. He choked his words down. Who even was this kid?
“Not much of a talker, huh? That’s alright,” the vampire dropped the body, it made a squelch when it hit the ground. Techno cringed. “I would tell you mine but I would have to kill you.” The vampire’s eyes never left Techno as he stepped on and over the body. Not caring if he got his shoes covered in blood.
Techno felt his heartbeat running a million miles an hour. Adrenaline filled his body as his instincts screamed at him to run. He needed to do something. He needed to move. He didn’t have a chance to think before the vampire lunged at him. Techno landed on his back, the fall winding him. The vampire applied pressure on his ribcage, threatening to break his bones.
Techno slashed his weapon aiming for the vampire's throat. The vampire jumped back to avoid being cut with the silver dagger. The hunter struggled to his feet as he regained his breath.
The vampire stared at him with eyes blown wide. “You have red eyes,” he said faintly.
Techno’s body ached, the vampire hit him hard. Still he ran forward and aimed for the bloodsuckers heart. The creature jumped to the side and kicked him in the stomach. Techno struggled to not fall backwards as he plunged his dagger into the vampire's leg.
“FUCK!” The creature picked him up and flung him against the wall. It hurt. Bad. Techno had to get up, he had to kill the vampire.
“FUCK YOU BITCH! YOU FUCKING STABBED ME!” The hunter's vision began to blur, as he staggered onto his feet. The creature ran up to him and punched him in the face. Techno swung back. He heard the satisfying crunch of the boy's nose breaking under his fist.
The vampire let out a low growl, anger blazing in his eyes and blood dripping down his nose. He swung again, hitting the hunter harder. Techno felt the sting of a cut across his face. He barely caught the glimpse of an emerald ring sitting on the boy's bloody finger. Nausea made his head spin with every hit. When Techno got out of this Dream was going to owe him the most expensive meal he could think of.
The vampire pulled Techno closer to himself, picking him up by his bloody shirt. “You’re being a wrong’un. I just wanted to ask about your eyes, instead I get fuckin’ stabbed!” The boy dragged him around like a rag doll making dramatic gestures to emphasize his point. He draggedTechno on the dirty floor. “What’s your name?” The vampire's eyes glowed. Techno bit his tongue until crimson liquid filled his mouth. The taste of blood filled his senses. He was not going to let himself be so easily charmed by a vampire.
Techno spit the bloody spit on the vampire's face. Probably not the best idea but he was too delirious to really think of anything else. “You’re a nerd” he said with the most shit eating grin he could muster.
The vampire narrowed his eyes at him. “Your insults are shit.”
“My insults are fine”
The boy let out a snort and smiled brightly. “I'm not a nerd, I'm a big man. The biggest man around.”
“Yeah? Well you look like a kid to me,” Techno said trying to keep his heart from beating out of his chest. Was he really bantering with a vampire right now??
“I’m like a fuck ton years older than you,” the boy laughed. If the boy had been human, Techno would’ve been proud to make him laugh.
“Bruuuh and you still look like you’re seventeen? Took an L there.” The vampire loosened his grip on Techno’s shirt. Good.
“I'm a big man. In fact I’m the biggest vampire around here! Everyone fears me!” The boy grinned proudly.
“Yeah right. The Crow is the most feared vampire and you kid can’t even come close to The Crow.”
“Does everyone think that Wil or Phil are The Crow? That’s not fair! It’s literally me! The great Tommy Innes!” The grip the boy had on Techno’s shirt went completely slack. This was his chance. He slowly pulled a small dagger from his undershirt, silently thanking any deity he could think of for his overwhelming amount of daggers. Skeppy called it paranoid but Techno called it well prepared. He held it tightly behind his back. He had one shot. If he screwed up, he was a dead man.
Techno swung. He buried the small dagger into Tommy’s throat. The vampire immediately let him completely go. His throat gurgled in the attempt to scream. He grabbed the dagger from his neck, the silver burning his hands. Tommy pulled it out cleanly, the wound quickly closing up as if it never had a dagger through it. He began to spit out blood as Techno stared wide eyed. The vampire pulled it out like it was nothing.
“Oh you fuked up,” Tommy looked at the hunter with a grin, like he didn't put a dagger through his throat. Immediately the boy kicked Techno. His vision swirled and the world began to go dark. He waited for the cold embrace of death to get him but it never came. Instead the last thing he saw was the boy grinning at him and pulling out a cell phone. Huh, guess Tommy doesn't want him dead yet.
