A Heart Worth Mending

Summary:

“We should consummate our marriage,” the bard says. He’s leaning against the side of the tavern he was kept in, tired, dishevelled, decidedly worse for wear – but alive.

Yennefer purses her lips at him. “We’re not actually married.”

“But if we were,” he says imploringly, “we totally would, right about now.”

It starts as a joke. But when they’re on the run and need a cover to get out of Oxenfurt, it doesn’t seem like quite so stupid an idea. And it’s not like they have to worry about actual feelings getting involved, right? ... Right?

Notes:

Additional Warnings (Injury-Recovery related):

Jaskier’s hands make a full, magical recovery; Yennefer’s Chaos/magic does not (though the ending is hopeful). Please proceed with care if either of those resolutions is an issue for you 💛
