Chapter Text
Somewhere far into the sleeping city of MegaPlex lied a treehouse, tall within the trees, hidden well enough even the top heroes couldn't find it. Inside our hidden tree house was twins, looked to be the age 16, one of them was sleeping, while the other was wide awake and aware of the rising sun.
He sat up, messy yellow hair, tiny bags under his eyes, wearing a bag t-shirt with the saying 'You did your best!' on it, short shorts for the bottoms. The teenager sighed as he stood up and stretched, feeling some bones crack, he wanted to tell his bones to shush because he didn't feel like dealing with a grumpy morning brother.
The boy traveled his way to the kitchen, wondering what to make for breakfast, he brings out a cook book he's had stored in a cupboard filled with books. He then looked in the fridge for what he could use, they seemed to be running out quick for a small family of 5....
He decided to take out raspberries, hash browns, the pancake mix, and some bacon. Turning on the stove and putting a pan on it, putting some butter on the pan to keep the pancakes yummy. He grabbed his orange mixing bowl and dumped half the vox of pancake mix in it, next he added water, then he grabbed a tablespoon and started mixing the pancake mix.
(At the other side of the house.)
A girl who seemed to be age 13, woke up. Sitting up they had, their lovely orange hair messy but fixable quite quick for short hair. She wore a set of sun pajamas. She had quietly gotten out of bed as to not wake her siblings, she walked out her shared room and into the kitchen, most likely knowing that her older brother would be up by now..
As the girl with that lovely orange hair walked into the kitchen, it seems it went by unnoticed until she cleared her throat, giving the male teenager a huge scare. "Oh thank the stars it's just you Maryanne! Good morning though!" The teenager whispered as to not wake any of his siblings. Maryanne chuckled at the teenager - "good morning sunny, your up earlier then usual, anything happen..?" She said quietly as she took a seat at the dining table with five chairs. "Ah, well, maybe another nightmare? I don't know-" Sunny didn't want to tell Maryanne about his nightmares again, the lectures she gave about letting someone know was scarier then a early morning Brother. Despite their age difference it seemed that Maryanne was the mother to the teenager twins.
Maryanne crossed her arms and gave sunny a look - "mhm? And what did we say about telling moon of our nightmares?" Sunny sighed as he finally found the right consistency to the mix and started making the actually pancakes. "Well... I just don't see a problem with my nightmares, it's a repeating cycle every night! I go to sleep, have a nightmare, wake up crying, cry for 10 minutes, and just lay there!" Maryanne frowned upon finding out that sun hasn't told moon of his nightmares... yet...
"Mhm, and what are you going to do if the nightmares affect you being a villain?" She asked, catching Sunny by surprise. "I- well- it-" Sunny was stunned for words, he didn't know what he'd do if that happened, usually moon can't sleep not the other way other...
Sunny sighed - "Then I'll figure it out! Sometimes not everyone can be prepared for everything." He said and continued to enjoy the silence as he cooked breakfast for his family.
(After Sunny finished cooking <3)
"Alright!" He quietly said with pride for his wonderful cooking, on the opposite counter of where the stove is, there were three sets of plates, bacon, hash browns, and raspberry pancakes! Yummy, I'm making myself hungry! "Mary can you go wake up your siblings, and make sure you tell them is breakfast time." Maryanne nodded and got off the chair, heading over to her shared room with her little brother and sister.
Sun walked into the room he shared with moon. He quickly got dressed, sliding a voice modifier and a flippable mask in their jacket pocket. He then shook moon awake - "Moony.." He shook moon's shoulder, a groan in response. "Moons..." He poked Moon's cheek, Moon covered his face. "Moonlight...?" Moon finally peeked open his eyes to look at Sun, his twin brother. "Hi..." Moon spoke in a groggy voice, deep it was though! Sun giggled quietly and sat moon up. "Moony it's time to wake up, I already made breakfast and I'm pretty sure the kids are waiting for us." Sun spoke with a smile. Moon hummed in acknowledgement. "Okay then, get dressed and let's go eat! :)" Moon looked at his twin brother as he left the room, he stood up and stretched, cracking some bones - "oof! Ow! I hate bones!" Moon exclaimed in a silent voice, not wanting to alert Sunny.
Moon got dressed into something that matched his siblings and went out to the kitchen. Arriving into the kitchen, he found Sunny serving the Kids and a plate for him(Moon), as Sunny set down Moons plate, he grabbed the syrup and put it in the middle of the table for the 4 to fight over. And fight over syrup they did! Maryanne won though.
(FYI The twins are 16, Maryanne is 13, Monica is 10, Gregory is 7. :))
As they started eating Sunny didn't seem to get himself a plate and wondered off, this made Moon confused. Monica was cutting Gregory's pancakes since the little devil couldn't do it himself yet. Maryanne noticed what sun just did aswell and looked at Moon, Moon looking back at Maryanne. The look they shared made their concerned grow. The look being 'Somethings wrong with Sun.' But they continued eating, everyone was there, well...
Almost Everyone.. with Sunny.
He stared at his hands as they trembled, a phone in one hand, the other, empty. He was staring at a contact on his phone, they were calling him.
He expected this of course! But why so soon... He didn't like hurting people, Moon said that if it was required we needed to harm someone, but Moon isn't under their command! Moon is under no ones command, he's free! Sun was just so scared, he didn't know why he agreed to help them, he should've went with his gut! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! STUPID!
IF HE DIDN'T TAKE THE DEAL THEN HIS FAMILY WOULDN'T BE A TARGET. GOD DAMN IT. Sun threw the phone as it slid across the wet grass and gently hit a tree. Sunny brought his knees up to his chest and hugged them, finding a sense of comfort in being a ball.
After a few minutes, Sunny lifted his head, his pants had two wet spots from his tears. The phone was buzzing, minus the wind, it was the only sound around. He knew why it was buzzing, They needed him again...
He sighed and crawled over to the phone, picking it up, and he was right, it was them. He sucked in his tears as they attempted to overflow his eyes and put on a fake voice once more. He finally answered. "H-Hello..?" Sunny spoke, standing up. "You didn't answer the first time, Sundrop. I told you many times before, answer when I first call." They spoke in a intimidating voice it always sent shivers down Sun's spine. "I-I'm sorry, when you first called I was around my family.." He spoke quietly into the phone. A bang was heard on the other side, making Sun flinch. "IF YOUR AROUND THEM THEN LEAVE THE ROOM SUNDROP NESS. YOU FOLLOW MY ORDERS...." there was a moment of silence as Sun walked further into the forest, a cat or two following him. "Unless you want them... dead?" Sun stopped walking when they said that - "NO! No no no, we made a deal, you said they wouldn't get hurt if I followed through.."
" Then answer when I call." Sun tensed. "Yes sir.." There was some noise on the other side, Sun had continued to walk, as he had stopped walking before. " I'll call you later. Bye sundrop." Sun quietly sighed - "Goodbye." And he hung up. He was walked back to the treehouse.
(After a few hours. )
Sun was playing with Gregory and Monica, they were playing dress-up :D, Moon and Maryanne were cheering on Sun and Gregory, they were trying see who fits a gown the best. Sun and Gregory were pulling it off better than Monica, she was a little jealous despite admiring her older brother.
"And now we shall have the scores counted up from our two members in our audience!" Monica said as she grabbed a flat-ish rectangular box and handed Moon and Maryanne a small piece of paper and pen. They quickly wrote their score and put it in the rectangular box, as Monica took the papers out and made the final score, Sun and Gregory were behind a long black piece of cardboard that covered them. They were play-arguing around who looks better - "Well I must say that I looked better in this dress than you, little gregory!" Sun said as he did a dramatic pose and smiled. "NO I wooked better in thwis drwess!" Little Gregory had play-yelled, Sun chuckled as he picked Gregory up by under his shoulders, and held him to his hip. "Ya know how better we both looked better in this dress than Monica." Sun said a little loudly, just enough for Monica to hear, and smiled once more he did.
"Hey I heard that!" Monica yelled towards Sun as he laughed quietly with Gregory, Soon enough Monica added all up the scores and asked the two in the back to come forth to the stage once more. "Thanks to our lovely audience, I think it seems pretty clear about who won this fashion contest..!" She was a quiet for a moment to give suspicion. "AND IM HAPPY TO ANNOUCE THAT GREGORY IS OUR FASHIONABLE CHILD OF THE YEAR !!!" :D Gregory went up to Monica and accepted the cardboard medal and trophy and waved to our lovely audience, Moon and Maryanne <3.
Sun clapped his hands for Gregory. "Good job Gregory! You've beaten my streak!" Sun chuckled at the end of his sentence. Gregory giggled and ran up to Sun's legs, hugging them since that was what Gregory could reach, sun hugged back and picked Gregory up. "Now how do we all feel about dinner?" Sun said with a smile as he looked around upon hearing stomachs grumble.
"Follow me dear siblings!" Sun spoke as he started marching towards the kitchen, Moon, Maryanne, and Monica followed behind.

Chapter Text
Sun, Sun was worrying Moon, a lot. Sun has been noticeably weaker and tired. “Moon you need to stop worrying! I’m fine.” He always said, Moon’s worries only grew more. When Sun left, Moon only stared at his brother's retreating figure. The kids were eating with Moon, just without.. Sun. Moon got up silently and Maryanne gave him a confused look. He sighed and mouthed, ‘I’ll be right back.’ She only nodded and stirred up a (d̶i̶s̶t̶r̶a̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶) conversation with the others. “Guys, guys! You won’t believe what I heard and saw yesterday!” “Oh my stars! What was it?!” Monica said with surprisement. “What?!” Gregory muffled out between his food. “I heard something in the bushes..” Moon chuckled quietly and left. Maryanne sure did keep them busy. Now, where was his twin brother?
…
Snapping his head around, he can hear a voice in the distance. Climbing down, he follows the sound. It was Sunny alright. He looked like he was on a call. A call? With who? Moon climbs onto one of the trees and spies on Sun. All of his words were muffled out but then Sun’s body froze. Sun said his goodbyes and turned off the phone. Swiftly getting down, Moon lands softly on the grass. He watches as Sun turns around and walks back to the tree house. Moon then creeps up slowly behind his brother. Latching his hand onto the others shoulder, the other stops abruptly. Sun froze again and turned around. “A-ah! Moon, fancy meeting you here!” He says as his body relaxes but still tensed up. “Sun..” Moon grumbled. “Yess..?” The older twin glared at the younger one. Sun shrank under Moon’s glare. “Why do you not eat anymore?” He growled, “Why do you leave almost every time now when we eat a meal?!” Moon’s grip held Sunny in place as he waited for an answer.
Sun's pov:
"I-" Sun didn't want to tell moon about why, especially since he didn't want this either - "I- I- I j-just lost my a- appetite, that's all!" Sun quickly made a lie. "NO!" Moon yelled, making Sun flinch. "I KNOW YOU SUNNY, YOU NEVER LOSE AN APPETITE!" Moon looked like he was gonna cry, Moon knows his brother better than he knows himself. "I just don't want to eat Moon! We need to save food and this is one way we can!" Sun shouted at Moon
With Moon…
Money was slowly, but yet quickly running out. When the money was going away, this meant he and Sun had to go out and get more. Now, that wasn’t an easy task. Well, more or so maybe for some it isn’t but for Sun and Moon, it was. Well, in a way it was. Moon groans at the thought of making another robbery, but hey, it’s what they had to do. Trudging his way to his room, he gets his outfit on. So did Sun of course. Sun has been a little bit too quiet since he and Moon.. The kids hugged them both before they retreated away from the treehouse. That broke Moon's thoughts. “Goodluck!!” shouted Gregory. “Don’t get yourselves caught!” Monica says. “See you guys later!” said Maryanne. The three of them wave goodbye. The twins waved back. “We won’t!” yelled Sun. Moon and his brother leave towards the city.
…
Ah, Megaplex City. Moon had a slight distaste for the city. Just feels a bit off. He didn’t know why but it did. Shrugging the feeling off, he had noticed Sun was going ahead of him. Moon rolled his eyes. The twin caught up with the other. Slipping through alleyways, Moon looked at the details and the placement of things within it. There were so many missing posters, he wondered why. He found himself far too ahead of his brother this time. “Brother! Wait for me!” Sun shouted. Moon paused and turned around. Sun looked so far away. Moon sighed, “Whatever…” and he walked closer to Sun. Soon enough, Sun caught up to Moon. “T-thanks.” Sun mustered out. “Mhm, yep, you’re welcome.” Moon said in return. They continued farther into the city. The city was bright and busy. People were chatting with each other or on their phone. He grimaced at the ones who yelled at each other. ‘Whatever.’ He thought as he shrugged it off. Moon dragged his brother closer to the bank. However, they were both unaware of someone’s gaze watching them.
-_???_-
He watches from above. The twins, what were they doing? He quickly followed them. The two bickered with one another. The well-known villain chuckles to himself. Oh, those two didn’t really change. That’s what he keeps telling himself of course. Sun has grown less energized and more anxious while Moon became more wary of everything. Change, change was a part of life and he knew it. ”Artemisia pull yourself together.” He told himself. Artemisia climbed down the building and quietly watched the twins. Artemisia wanted to pull off a robbery in a few banks today, he really wanted to piss off those heroes. Upon watching the siblings, he notices that the two are going to one of the banks that Artemisia plans to rob. The boys looked at one another and dashed for the bank in different directions. He only observes what happens until..
An alarm went off. Artemisia takes his chance and rushes inside.
