Work Text:
Rins legs come up and wrap around his waist as Sousuke holds him firmly against the wall, an arm on either side of him. Or were they on the bed? It felt a bit plush but he couldn’t be too sure. The boy beneath held his cheeks in either hand, kissing him like he depended on it. He wasn’t sure how they got there or how long they’d been there for but he didn’t care. All he wanted was this. In one fell swoop it all fades away with the sound of a loud beep.
Sousuke slowly blinks awake, trying to chase his own dreams before they abandoned him. He’s fully awake as he turns off his alarm. Rin has been in Australia for a few months now. As much as he’s like to act composed, Sousuke missed him so much. Recently he’s begun to have this same reoccurring dream where it’s just Rin and him making out, enjoying being the only two people on earth. Usually he’d be upset to wake up but today’s different. He gets Rin from the airport today.
——
Sousuke tapped his foot rhythmically on the floor of the airport pickup terminal. Although he still couldn’t drive, he wouldn’t miss picking Rin up for the world. Even if he had to ask Haru for a ride over, it was well worth it to get to see Rin. He keeps his hands firmly in his pockets, scanning around for his boyfriend. His flight landed 15 minutes ago so he would be out any second now.
His eyes finally land on a familiar figure walking towards him, dragging his luggage behind him and checking his phone. He looks up, the brim of the baseball cap he’s wearing finally revealing his eyes as they meet Sousuke’s. Rin waves over to him as he walks closer. Sousuke thinks that if he was a first year in secondary school again he would run towards him, spin him around, and tell him to never leave again. It would be like all the cheesy reuniting at the airport videos he’s ever seen, sealed with a kiss.
Instead he pulls one hand out of his pocket and waves back, walking to further bridge the gap between them. “Hey, how was the flight?” Sousuke asks. He wonders if Rin can tell how happy he is to finally see him again. Rin abandoned his luggage in favor of wrapping his arms firmly around Sousukes neck. He wraps his own arms around Rin’s waist in return.
“It was fine, I slept through most of it.” Rin mumbled into his neck. He placed a small kiss on his shoulder before pulling away and taking a hold of his luggage once again. The contact is missed almost immediately.
They take a quick shuttle to the parking lot Rin has been keeping his car at whenever he’d be away in Australia. He always gets anxious that his car won’t start after sitting unused for so long but it’s always been just fine.
It’s nice to be able to do something as simple as drive together, Sousuke thinks.
The ride from the airport to Sousuke’s appartement isn’t a long one but it’s enough to make him feel warm inside.
He misses a lot of things whenever Rin has to go back to Australia. His laugh, the way he tells jokes, the way he looks when he thinks Sousuke doesn’t notice, the way he kisses him like he can’t breathe without it. Just having him there next to him in the car gave him a rush of emotions he couldn’t quite decipher.
Before he knew it he was unlocking the door to his apartment to let them in. Rin would be all his for the next month until he had to go back to meet Mikhail for training. How can time feel so fast and short at the same time?
Rin stepped in after Sousuke. As they both faced each other it dawned on the both of them that they’re finally alone. Sousuke, not one for public affection, did what he’d been wanting to do since he saw Rin walking up to him. He lifted him up into his arms and kisses him, leaning his boyfriends back up against the door. Rin seems taken aback at first but wastes no time wrapping his arms around Sousuke’s neck, matching his passion.
They get lost in each other for who knows how long. Nothing matters besides the two of them in their mind. They pull apart and Sousuke rests his forehead on Rin’s.
“What was that about?” Rin asked jokingly, catching his breath.
“What? Can I not kiss my boyfriend??” Sousuke replied, false offense lacing his tone. He squeezed on tighter to Rin and rocked him back in forth, inciting giggles out of the both of them.
“I missed you.” Rin admits, looking into Sousuke’s eyes now. His boyfriend plant’s another kiss on his mouth.
“Yea, me too”
