Luffy’s heart couldn’t stop racing, it’s been so long since he’s last seen any of his friends, he’s dreamed of this moment a couple of times in the span of those two years and now they’re all here, crowding around him. His eyes sting but he quickly wipes away any tears before they can fall, he has no time for crying now ! It’s hard to hold back his emotions when he chooses his first victim. His body crashes against Usopp and they have a small competition about who can give the best soul crushing hug in the world.
“Luffy! I sure missed you! How are you?!” They both let go of each other and Luffy grins so wide it hurts his face, he completely ignores his question, not on purpose, he’s just so excited he starts to excitedly point things out “Woah! Usopp you look so cool ! Your hair is long! And fluffier! Cool hat! And all that new gear!” The long nosed man grins and chuckles proudly, he poses confidently and quickly introduces all of his top notch gadgets. Luffy’s jaw is on the floor the entire time.
“ GAAAAAAHH! ” Chopper screeches as soon as his eyes land on Luffy’s ‘X’ shaped scar on his chest, he quickly changes forms so he’s standing at his captain’s height “What happened to you !? That scar is huge ! Let me see it!” Luffy puffs out his chest and lets the doctor take a good look at it, he doesn’t understand any of that medical stuff that Chopper is muttering about, “Oh this? I got hurt during the war but it’s okay! Law took care of me! Of us!” He looks back to meet Ace’s eyes, they both exchange a soft smile “Law operated on you!? Oh… Then I have nothing to worry about! I’ve heard he’s an excellent doctor!” Chopper traces his finger over the scarred skin and nods before he throws his arms around his captains neck, he can’t hold back his tears anymore “I’m so glad you’re okay! When I heard you two went missing in action– I thought you had died! But t-then…!” Chopper sobs loudly into Luffy’s chest, he bites his lip hard when he feels a hand petting his fur.
“I’m here now, please don’t cry… I missed you too Chopper!”
“ BWAAAAAAAH !” Chopper’s tears flow as he holds onto the captain.
Luffy laughs, but his hand never stops petting the soft, warm fur. Suddenly there’s more than a few hands rubbing Chopper’s back, there’s one on his shoulder too “Robin! I almost didn’t recognize you! Where did your bangs go!? Why are you so pale!? You sick or something!?”
“Luffy you idiot!” Sanji butts in and gives him a good hit in the head, but his fingers linger there, tangling themselves with Luffy’s hair almost affectionately “Never bombard a lady with questions about her looks! Especially when she looks like a goddess! Perfect! Gorgeous!”
“I didn’t mean it that way! Also, that hurt!” Luffy pouts and ignores Sanji’s deadly gaze.
Robin giggles, “Yes, I suppose my appearance has changed significantly…” She takes a good look at Luffy, the boy has grown a bit and he looks changed , she can’t quite put her finger on it “You look great captain,” She grips Luffy’s shoulder “I was overjoyed to find out you survived and managed to rescue your brother… I have to admit, it brought tears to my eyes.” She smiled and was surprised by the serious look on Luffy’s face, “Of course I had to survive, I promised you guys we’d meet again! You already know I don’t break promises.”
The memory of her captain yelling at the top of his lungs, ‘Say you want to live!’ flashes in her mind. Robin’s lip wobbles but she quickly recovers, “I know” Chopper finally lets go of Luffy so he could share a quick but tight hug with her.
Nami is next in line, they take a look at each other before she pulls Luffy into her arms. Big fat tears were already rolling down her cheeks, “You idiot! Stupid idiot! Running into danger every chance you get! Do you ever learn!?” Luffy chuckles as he returns the embrace, “Sorry for worrying you… I had to, if I didn’t then–”
“Don’t apologize!” She shuts him down, “We know why you did it! We’re the ones that should be apologizing! You’re always there for us! You saved us so many times! Y-you saved me! And I– we couldn’t do anything to help you!”
Luffy stays quiet, he lets her cry and when she pulls away so abruptly, it startles him.
Nami furiously wipes away her tears with her arm, “There’s nothing you guys could’ve done… so, don’t blame yourselves” He held her gaze, “I had a lot of help, I wasn’t fighting alone…”
“Still,” Zoro chimes in, “We would’ve all gladly risked our lives in that war for you”
Brook and Franky sob furiously, and even if it’s not comfortable at all, Luffy quickly stretches out his arms to pull them both into a hug at the same time.
“ CAPTAIN !” They both wail, Zoro steps closer to ruffle Luffy’s hair.
“You okay?” The swordsman asks.
“Yeah, Ace is with me now, of course I’m okay”
“Good” That’s all Zoro needed to hear.
“Speaking of Ace…” Sanji starts, “Why are you standing all the way over there?”
All eyes are on Ace now, who was hanging around the deck, “Oh! Luffy’s been dying to see you all again, of course I wanted him to have that moment without me in the way” He grinned and walked over them now.
Luffy unwrapped his arms from around Franky and Brook to throw one around Ace’s waist, “Listen up! Your captain has a very special announcement to make!”
The crew grows silent, giving Luffy the floor to talk “Everyone! Meet the new member of the Strawhat pirates! Fire Fist Ace!”
Ace lifted his hand up to offer a peace sign to everyone, “It’s really nice to see everyone again! It’s been so long, huh? Last time we met was way back in Alabasta! Anyways, I look forward to getting to know everyone a bit better, can’t wait to kick ass with all of you!”
Usopp and Chopper cheer immediately, “Really!? You’re joining us!?”
“This guy Ace is amazing! Remember that time he took down a dozen marine ships with one hit!? It was blazing hot! Fire everywhere!” Usopp brags proudly, as if the accomplishment was his own.
“Amazing! You did that?” Brook towers over Ace and the older boy smirks, “Yes I did– I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure to meet you yet, but let me guess… Brook, right? Luffy told me so much about you,” A courteous handshake was exchanged, “Can’t wait to hear you perform…”
“ Yohohoho ! Look forward to it tonight! We have a new member! I’m sure a party will be thrown in your honor!”
“Nice to meet you, Ace!” Franky’s boisterous voice catches Ace’s attention, “The name’s Franky!”
“Franky! Likewise! Gotta say, you’re as cool as Luffy described! Love the colors man,” Ace admires his crewmate, nodding his head in approval multiple times.
“I know right!? Aren’t they SUPER !?”
“They sure fucking are!” Ace laughs alongside Franky.
Luffy watches intently as Ace makes his way to Nami, Robin and Sanji. His eyes sparkling, he’s overjoyed to see him getting along so well with the rest of his crew.
“Robin, right? Pleasure to meet you” An arm sprouts from Ace’s outstretched limb to shake his hand, “ Woah ! That’s freaky… but fucking cool !” He stares in awe as the extra limb disappears.
“A pleasure to meet you too, just as you have heard about us, we’ve heard plenty about you” Robin offers him a gentle but happy smile, “I finally get to meet the man that makes the captain so happy”
Ace’s heart jumps at this statement. His cheeks gain a bit of color.
“Hah!” It’s all Ace says before he turns his attention to Nami, “Hey there, it’s nice to see you again!”
“I could say the same! You’re really joining us?”
“Sure am!”
Nami sighs in relief, “Good! Luffy would miss you so much if you just got up and left. Seeing him mope around all sad about you would’ve been depressing!”
Ace's face falls for a second, but then he’s back to smiling “I could say the same! When I parted ways with Luffy back in Alabasta…” He pauses, debating if he should say this or not. Fuck it, these are his new crewmates so he should be open with them “It was extremely hard for me… to say goodbye to him again . I was forcing myself to not take him with me… but at least, I left knowing he was in good hands”
Sanji chuckles, “Yeah, we always gotta keep an eye out for him… but that’s just the way things are. We’re all used to his antics by now”
“And I thank you all again, for always having his back” Ace bows a bit, showing his eternal gratitude to this group of people.
Luffy quickly approaches them, surprising a now blushing Ace by hugging him from behind. Robin takes a mental note when she sees this.
“Sanji! We’re throwing a party tonight for Ace! Cook us a feast! Meat! I want so much meat! And pasta! Those roasted potatoes you make and– Oh! Do we have ghost peppers!? That’s Ace’s favorite! Anything super spicy, right Ace?”
Ace detangles himself from Luffy’s hold to casually throw his arm over his shoulders, bringing him close to his side, “Yeah! Basically anything spicy will do, or any food really! I’ll eat anything you wanna make chef!”
“Ghost peppers, huh…” Sanji rubs his chin, a hundred recipes and new creations run wild in his mind, “I have a few ideas, even if I don’t find any ghost peppers on deck, I’ll make sure to make something special for you…” He puts out his cigarette, “Alright, better get started… Zoro! Don’t just stand there, come help in the kitchen! You too Usopp!”
“ Hah !? Why do I have to help?” Zoro complains but still starts walking towards the kitchen.
“Ehhh!? Why me!? If I’m helping, then Chopper is too! Come on doctor!” Usopp picks up a Chopper that’s pretending to be dead, “That’s not gonna convince anyone! Look alive!”
“Shut it! No complaining!” Sanji yells at all of them as they disappear inside.
Luffy jumps excitedly, “Oh! Tonight is gonna be so much fun! Ace! Let Franky give you the official tour of the Thousand Sunny! He built it, after all!”
“Alright…! Let me just start by apologizing! I don’t have a bed for you yet ! But I’ll be building you one soon. For now, I’ll set up a hammock for you, hope you don’t mind” Franky knows he has enough wood to build a new bed frame, he’ll just have to find a mattress on the next island they land on.
“Dont worry about it, I can sleep anywhere… I appreciate it though”
“That’s right! Ace can sleep with me!” Luffy knows the beds aren’t big, but they’ve spent countless nights holding each other, he’s sure they’ll both be able to fit in the bed. But that’s not the only reason, it’ll feel weird to not sleep with Ace. It was one of the things he’d look forward to at the end of the day.
“Alright! Now that that’s out of the way! Let’s get this tour started!” Franky does his signature pose and Ace thinks it’s so cool he imitates him immediately, and so does Luffy just for fun. They all burst out laughing.

After a nice tour and endless chatting Sanji calls everybody into the dining room. All sort of delicious scents hit Ace in the nose at the same time, his stomach growling loudly for everyone to hear as Luffy drags him and urges him to sit.
Luffy can’t hold himself back anymore, he’s been craving Sanji’s food for too long. He grabs a giant piece of meat from off the plate, it's hot, it’s juicy and it’s falling off the bone. He takes a giant bite and tears blur his vision, “IT’S SO GOOD ! SANJI I MISSED YOUR FOOD SO MUCH!”
“Eat with your mouth closed idiot!” Sanji scolds him but there’s no bite to it, he’s clearly extremely flattered and happy to see everyone enjoying his food again. It fills his heart with warmth.
“Ace, you need to try this!” Luffy wipes away his tears with his sleeve as he presses the meat against the older boy's mouth. Ace quickly bites down and takes a good chunk out of it. His eyes widen and he hums in delight. He chews quickly and swallows before he speaks “Holy shit! That’s the best meat I’ve ever had Sanji!”
“Look at that! I’ve never seen Luffy share his food like that!” Usopp points out before he stuff his face with small, well seasoned potatoes.
The blonde chuckles, and sets a giant plate of pasta in front of Ace “Ghost Pepper creamy seafood pasta!” Sanji announces, “It’s extremely hot, so be careful yeah? Enjoy! This is a dish for Ace only Luffy! It’s too spicy for you to eat!”
Ace picks up a fork and swirls the pasta, takes a big bite and “Mmmmgh! Hmmm!” Ace enthusiastically nods his head as he takes another bite, this time with some shrimp, “Oh, this is fucking delicious!”
“Ghost pepper, eh? Can I try some?” Usopp asks from across the table and Ace nods again, “Yeah man! Help yourself!” Ace takes Usopp’s plate and serves him.
“Oh! I want to taste it! Can I have some!?” Luffy rests his head against Ace’s shoulder while chomping down on an abnormally large chicken leg.
“This is really spicy Luffy, I know you’re not gonna like it but if you really wanna try…” Ace swirls a decent amount of pasta in his fork and feeds Luffy, the moment Luffy closes his mouth around the fork his eyes widen.
He chews and swallows the pasta quickly and gasps for air, his tongue hangs from his mouth “AGHHH! HOT! HOT! IT'S BURNING!”
Ace can’t help but to laugh at Luffy’s reaction, he quickly hands him some juice and Luffy chugs it down but it’s still not enough. Ace rolls his eyes and takes his face and shoves a couple of ice cubes into his mouth, “I told you Lu! You know you don’t like anything too spicy– ah, don't chew or swallow the ice, let it cool your tongue… there you go…”
Luffy finally calms down, his lips are swollen and his tongue feels numb. Ace chuckles and leans in, wanting to kiss him but stops himself when he remembers that they’re not alone anymore, “Better?”
“Y-yeah…!”
At this time Zoro swings by and starts pouring everybody some real nice beer, “Ace, want some? You a drinker?”
“Oh yeah! I’d take some…” He grabs the cup and takes a sip, “Oh that’s good, thank you man” Zoro only nods and sits back down to eat his food.
Ace now takes big gulps of the delicious cold beer that feels amazing running down his throat. “Woooh!” He picks up a giant piece of meat by the bone and bites down on it like a starved animal, he starts devouring anything that’s placed in front of him,
After an hour two and seven and a half alcoholic beverages later, Ace is in the middle of telling a funny story, it includes one of his attempts to assassinate his father when suddenly, his narcolepsy kicks in and his face falls right into the slice of pie he was about to eat.
Snore .
“Holy shit! ” Nami jumps in her seat, “What’s wrong with h-him… is he okay?” She’s already drunk, so her speech is slurred.
“Oh!” Luffy laughs, he’s a bit tipsy too. He’s not a drinker but Ace had offered him some beer and he took it, “Don’t worry about him… sometimes he falls asleep like this when he eats too much! Ace… wake up! Finish telling your story!” Luffy pats his back trying to bring him back but that doesn’t work so he rubs his cheek against Ace’s shoulder, in a very affectionate way “Ace…!” Luffy now yells into his ear, causing the older boy to jump and sit up abruptly, there’s pieces of pie crust and berries all over the side of his cheek “Augh… ah shit, my bad… fell asleep…” He grabs his spoon and continues eating the now smushed piece of pie, “Where was I…? Oh yeah!” The crew laughs at how easily he can continue functioning after blacking out like that.
Luffy stares at Ace’s cheek covered in berry sauce and moves without thinking, he leans in and drags his tongue across his cheek, which causes Ace’s breath to get stuck in his throat “Luffy! Get off…” He complains but doesn’t make a real effort to push him away, “You’re nasty… you know that right?” Ace is also drunk, but not drunk enough to do anything too stupid.
Luffy licks his lips, getting the rest of the sauce on his mouth. He raises a brow and his cheeks glow a bit red, he chuckles a bit before speaking, “Look who’s talking… you weren’t calling me nasty when I–” Ace quickly shoves the rest of the pie into Luffy’s mouth to shut him up. He feels everybody’s curious eyes on them, causing him to grow a bit pale, “I think you’re drunk Lu…” He pushes a cup of water towards him, “Drink that”
Luffy chews on the pie slowly, he’s so full and being this full makes him so sleepy, but he doesn’t want to sleep yet, he wants to keep on laughing and listening to everybody’s stories but he ends up leaning against Ace, soaking up his warmth. The older boy sighs but gently puts his arm around Luffy.
With the captain under control, Ace looks around and freezes when he feels Robin’s intense gaze. It’s like she’s reading him, like he’s looking right through him. Directly into his soul. He awkwardly offers her a smile and she returns the gesture. She frees Ace from her gaze and he internally deflates in relief. ‘What was that about?’ He wonders but decides to brush it off for now.

Everybody was either too drunk or exhausted to keep partying or talking, so they all excused themselves to go to bed. Ace picks up a sleeping Luffy and carries him back to the men’s quarters. Thankfully the single beds weren’t as small as he thought. So Ace carefully lays Luffy down, taking his hat, his red button up and sandals off. He’s about to undress himself when he feels a hand on his belly that makes him jump a bit “You scared me…” Ace whispers, everybody else is already laying down, snoring or about to fall asleep.
“Mm-hm…” Luffy smiles, he squints in the dark to try and see Ace’s face “What are you doing?” The captain whispers back.
“Bout to take off my pants… sleep with you…?” Ace sounds confused, what else should he be doing?
“Oh…” Luffy pays close attention to the sound of Ace undoing his belt and unzipping his baggy black pants, and he has no idea why but the sound makes his heart skip a beat. He moves a bit, giving Ace enough space to lay down on his side behind him and just like that, he’s being spooned.
“Ace?”
“Yeah?”
“You like it here?”
“Yeah, I do”
“Good” Luffy turns around to face him, and immediately presses his mouth against Ace’s.
The older boy breaks the kiss quickly, “Lu, we’re not alone anymore…” He reminds him, “We can’t just–”
“Did you think I was going to hide it?” Luffy brings his hand up to Ace’s face to cup his cheek, “Everybody knows I love you…”
There it is again, last time Luffy said it was a week ago. Ace’s heart races against his ribcage, thumping so loud he’s sure Luffy can hear it, and Luffy telling him he’s not trying to hide the developments of their relationship only made his palpitations worse. He might just die, “Yeah but they don’t know we’re making out and acting like we’re together”
Luffy frowns, there’s a long moment of silence that starts to worry Ace by the second “Are we… not together?” Luffy asks.
Ah .
“I mean– yes, uh… yes but no? We’re… not exactly in a…” Ace has no idea how to put it into words, “Do you want us to be? Like… a couple?” Luffy is quiet again and Ace doesn’t do anything to break the silence.
“Why is it always up to me? It’s always what I want… What do you want Ace? What do you want from me?” The seriousness of the conversation makes him a bit uneasy, but he’s not gonna back down, he was just hoping they’d talk about this without whispering, somewhere more private. Thankfully everybody’s snores are a good sign that their whispers are not being paid any attention.
Ace sighs and prepares himself to be a hundred percent honest with Luffy, he can’t never bullshit him “Yeah, my feelings for you are too… overwhelming . I want to be yours and I want you to be mine” Straight to the point, “So yes, I’d very much like for us to be… together, a couple… partners…” Ace swallows the knot in his throat, why did they need to have this conversation now?
Maybe he’s a little unsatisfied because he’s a romantic at heart, and he wants to do all these grand things for Luffy. But really, Luffy does not care for grand confessions or demonstrations of love. That doesn’t mean he won’t appreciate them or that his face won’t glow red every time Ace tries to do something romantic for him but, he very much prefers moments like this. He likes the intimacy of it, like right now. Laying down with him, being held by him. The feeling of his warm breath against his mouth sparks something within him. Ace reeks of alcohol but Luffy doesn’t mind one bit.
The captain leans in again, pressing his lips sweetly against Ace. One kiss, then another peck, and another until they’re making out. Ace gives in, he’s too weak against Luffy’s affection. He's been wanting to kiss him for a few days now but they’ve been so busy, buzzing with excitement about future adventures, among a hundred other things. Ace now holds the back of Luffy’s head, taking a handful of hair possessively, bringing him closer to deepen the kiss. Their tongues find each other once more, shyly at first but after a few seconds pass and they settle into that addicting sensation, they both start to taste each other desperately. The wet, sloppy noises their kiss makes are not loud enough to overpower the choir of snores in the room so Ace tries not to worry so much about it.
Luffy breaks the kiss first, which causes Ace to whine softly in protest “You taste like beer…and wine…” The younger boy rests his forehead against Ace’s, his thumb gently caressing his cheek.
“You taste sweet… like that pie I stuffed your face with…” Ace grins and closes his eyes, “What were you gonna say back there? When I called you nasty…”
“Oh” Luffy lets out a breathy chuckle, “Was gonna say that you weren’t calling me nasty when I swallowed your c–” Ace shuts him up again, this time with a kiss and Luffy has to silence his laugh, “Am I wrong? You said it was the hottest thing you’ve ever seen…”
Ace clicks his tongue, his face burns as he speaks “And you were planning to say that out loud in front of everyone ? You crazy or something? Also– I had no idea you were gonna do that! And it was that one time only…” The memory of Luffy’s head bobbing up and down between his thighs only manages to make his already half hard dick twitch in his boxers, aching for some attention “Don’t play innocent with me…” It’s true, they weren’t exactly sexually active back in the island, after his confession during the middle of the second year, they’d make out every now and then and jerk each other off a couple of times. Don’t get him wrong, that alone was amazing , it would always knock the breath out of him.
But they rarely ventured further, they always stopped at a handjob. But that one afternoon something came over Luffy, he was showing interest in doing something else, something new . Ace didn’t dare stop him, he can still remember how his heart almost failed on him when he felt Luffy’s soft, wet lips wrapping around the head of his throbbing dick. He had finished incredibly fast, but could you blame him? And when he opened his eyes, he realized he had bursted inside Luffy’s mouth. He panicked, quickly apologizing and urging him to spit it out when he heard him gulp it down.
Holy shit.
“Never said I was innocent” Luffy shrugs, and throws his leg over Ace’s hips, “Wanna…?”
“Hm? Wanna… what?” The hair on Ace’s arms stands due to goosebumps.
“You’re hard Ace” Luffy points out, “Can feel it”
Damn it.
“So? It’s not like… we can do anything here Lu, exactly what do you have in mind?” Ace’s hand now rests in Luffy’s back, fingers tracing shapes, writing his name against his skin gently.
Luffy now starts to move, pushing Ace so he’s now laying on his back and in a matter of seconds, Luffy is straddling him, sitting proudly right on top of his boner.
“Hnngh… what are you doing?” Ace bites his lip, holding back a gasp when the younger boy starts to grind on him, “Luffy… f-fuck…” He whines quietly, his hands hurry to take a hold of Luffy’s hips, his fingernails digging tightly into his skin “Lu–”
“Does that feel good?” The captain’s voice is strained, he rolls his hips experimentally and they both gasp “O-oh…” Luffy closes his eyes and supports himself by placing both his hands on Ace’s pecs.
“Y-yeah it does but–” It’s hard not to picture it, but from this angle, with these movements, it’s almost as if Luffy is riding him and the thought drives him crazy. Ace groans quietly, he bucks his hips now, seeking more friction. The bed creaks with every single movement and the older boy worries they’re being way too noisy but the pleasure coursing through his body overpowers any anxiety or worry. He’s too far gone to care too much now.
“Ace…” Luffy moans his name and the sound makes his skin burn, if he’s not too careful he’ll burst into literal flames.
Shocks of pleasure travel up and down Luffy’s spine with every roll of his hips, or every time Ace grinds his hips to meet him halfway. He’s painfully hard but the friction helps ease the ache. He can feel it now, his gut feels like it’s on fire, he can feel a few droplets of sweat running down his neck. It’s Ace’s fault too, he produces too much heat but it doesn’t bother him, in fact it excites him to no end. Luffy gasps again when Ace brings him down to attack his neck with kisses, he shivers when he feels his hot tongue licking up the sweat off his skin.
“Ace… Ace…” Luffy chants his name sweetly, quietly, it’s not exactly a whisper but at least he’s not being his usual loud self. But, when Ace slides his hands from Luffy’s hips to his ass to knead the soft skin, Luffy can’t help but to curse out loud “ Fuck !”
He loves his hands so much. And those same hands are now touching him with so much love , so much want and possessiveness . Luffy is not used to any of these feelings, but he likes them so much. He likes being wanted this way but it can only be Ace who gets to make him feel this way. He cringes at the thought of letting anybody else kiss him or touch him like this.
“Shhh…!” Ace looks around the room but no one’s moved, the snores haven’t stopped or wavered either “Luffy…” He was about to scold him but the expression on Luffy's face was mesmerizing, his lips were parted and wet, drool sliding down the corners of his mouth. His eyes were shut tight, brows furrowed and cheeks flushed red. The older boy kisses him roughly, tasting every corner of his mouth with his tongue, “Holy fuck… you– so… hot ” Ace can’t hold back the dirty talk, “Feel good? Hm? Hah… it’s like you’re riding me– oh fuck… wanna ride me?” Ace bites back a moan, “Wanna fuck you so bad… Luffy– I need you so bad ” He sounds so breathless, “Wanna? Can I? Would you let me ?” It’s like he’s begging now, his voice is strained. The pleasure has been building up in his gut for a while, he’s close now.
Luffy’s eyes open, his vision is a bit blurry but his gaze finally focus on Ace’s face “Y-yeah… you can f-fuck me…” The captain grins widely before he throws his head back, “You c-can…! I want… you to…!” Luffy picks up the pace, he’s about to come undone any second now “Ace…! I o-only want yo–”
Ace can’t take it anymore.
They both cum with a ridiculously loud grunt. Luffy bites down on Ace’s shoulder to prevent himself from making any more noises.
