Will was outraged at his mother, forcing him to do something without asking his opinion. Because according to her it is to get him away from all the dangers he suffered at Hawkins.
Now he was in the car of a distant relative named Kate, she works as a governess.
She was a young woman who loved children. A few days ago she was given a job at Fairchild Manor and all was going well until Flora's older brother Miles arrived.
The boy was expelled for assaulting a fellow student as revenge for tearing up his father's letters.
Kate suffered hallucinations but as she left that mansion in search of Will to Hawking everything calmed down in her mind.
-So Will, are you excited," Kate asked him with a smile. They were both riding in Kate's car and had barely left town.
-I guess...
-When we get there I hope you'll help me a little, I hope you'll get Miles to behave.
The naming of that boy had created interest from Will.
-And what does Miles look like?
-Ummm, physically he looks like that boy who hugged you...black hair...tall...t-shirt with a demon on it...what's his name?
-Mike.
-That, he looks a lot like Mike but Miles has quite a few curls, kind of crazy. His demeanor is annoying, like a little devil and his eyes are so dark it's like they're judging you and taking you to hell itself.
-Sounds terrible.
-Yeah...well, I hope you'll help me.
-I don't have a problem, not that I have much to do there either.
-Flora is a real sweetheart, she's quite a playful girl and she likes to play... a shiver runs through her body when she remembers what happened with that game.
-Kate, are you all right?" he asks a bit worried when he sees the girl's pale face.
-Fine, just a bad memory.
-Do you want to stop talking about it or...?
-No, you need information," the girl sighs, "The little I know about Miles is that he rides horses, loves his sister and has a drum set and a guitar that he uses to play.
They stopped talking so Kate could turn her attention to the road. They drove to a gas station where they filled up the car with gas.
-Can I go get something to eat?" asked Will as he was almost out of the car.
-Yes, and please grab an iced coffee for me.
The boy nods and goes to get the stuff. He finds in one of the coolers the iced coffee already made. He walks down one of the aisles to find some Cheetos and grab a can of Coke. When he has everything picked out, he goes to the cashier to pay.
-It's a long trip, isn't it? Where are you going," asks the old man who attends the store, curious.
-To Fairchild Manor.
Will notices that the man is getting uncomfortable.
-You should be careful with that place, there are rumors and they are not good ones.
-Really?
-Do you think there's nothing wrong there? -Did the previous governesses meet terrible fates.
-Are they dead?! -that had scared Will, he didn't want anything to happen to Kate.
-At least only one, and there's no telling what happened.
Will ended the talk by saying nothing more and paid. He politely said goodbye to the gentleman and returned with Kate to the car.
-What took you so long?
-Nothing, I was just talking to the man at the store.
Kate started the car and continued the trip. Sometimes they stopped for Kate to drink her coffee, they also sang along to the songs that were on the radio, and Will even gave Kate some of his Cheetos.
-And here it is.
They had arrived at Fairchild Manor, and Will watched in amazement.
