Work Text:
Today had been such a busy day at work. The phones were ringing almost non-stop, and the paperwork was piling up, but never seemed to go down. You were so absorbed in your work that you almost missed your lunch break. When it was time to clock out, you wasted no time in grabbing your bag and rushing out the door. Your coworkers gave you weird looks as you didn't even say goodbye as you rushed out the door.
When you get to your car, you close your eyes and lay your head back on the headrest, letting out a long and heavy sigh. It's finally quiet and your ears are ringing from the silence. After a few moments of getting some sanity back, you open your eyes. Plugging your phone into the stereo and turning on your favorite song, you're ready to unwind on your drive home.
When you unlock the door and walk in, Sun is there, as usual, to welcome you home. He greets you with his giant smile, radiating with joy. He scoops you in a tight, twirling hug, never able to hold himself back. "Sunshine, you're home! Oh, I missed you. Did you have a good day at work?" You look at him and give a small shrug and he tilts his head in confusion at you. So he sets you down and gives you a quick kiss. When the two of you break from the kiss, you give Sun a small, tired smile. His smile falls at seeing your attempt at being happy for him. As you walk over to the fridge, pull out a "Ready-Heat" meal and set it in the oven, you explain, "Well, I wouldn't say it was a good day. But I'm okay. I've had worse days so I can handle it." You try to make it sound like you didn't lose your entire soul at work, but your voice lacks any bit of energy to keep the usually chipper Sun from worrying.
After turning the oven on to preheat, you turn around and Sun is standing right behind you. He's so close you end up bumping into him, face-planting into his chest plate. "Mph. Sunny?" You take a step back and look up at the animatronic. If he had eyebrows they would be furrowed with worry right now. He reaches out and hooks a finger under your chin. His voice is calming and gentle, "Sunshine, it doesn't matter if you've had worse days. It does no good to compare each day to the last. Today was still hard, wasn't it?"
Your face heats up slightly and there's a fluttering in your chest. Sun had always been able to see through your act. In fact, you could never hide your true emotions from him or Moon for long. They would always figure it out one way or another; whether it was pestering you until you told them, or they would pick up on your behavior. Sun bends down to meet your face, his golden eyes gazing into yours, searching for something. His hand moves from under your chin to your cheek. When he speaks this time, his voice is lower than his greeting had been. It seems more serious. "Y/N, remember that you're safe here with us. There is no reason to put on a brave face. For yourself or us darling."
Sun's hand causes your body to relax slightly, leaning into his touch. You didn't even realize how tense you had been. You bring your hand up to touch Sun's and groan slightly at being caught. "You're right, Sunny. I just didn't want to bother you or Moonie with it." Letting out a sigh, you let your arm fall and lean into Sun, forehead on his chest and arms dangling free. He pulls you in closer, a hand going to the back of your head, his other on your back, fingers tracing small shapes. "Oh Y/N, you'll never ever ever be a burden to Moon or me, ever."
That's the sentence that did you in; hearing that you weren't a burden to either of them. Sure they had told you before, actually several times. However, after a day like today, with managers yelling at you nonstop, you needed the extra reassurance. Your body starts to shake and you wrap your arms tightly around Sun's torso. You're thankful that although he's tall, his waist is so thin. It's the perfect size to hug. Sun keeps his hold on you, petting your head lightly, even giving the top of your head a few kisses.
"Come on Sunshine, let's go sit down and relax with Moonie." With a small nod from you, Sun picks you up bridal style. You lean into his chest, happy for the comfort of his arms and the sounds of his internal whirrs and ticks. As Sun walks into the living room, Moon looks up from his video game and when he sees you upset, he gets up and grabs your favorite stuffed animal. Sun sits down and places you next to him and Moon sits on your other side. Moon hands you the stuffed animal after you get settled in. They both kiss the top of your head and settle down.
Moon takes your hand in his and gives it a small squeeze. "Tough day Starlight?" All you can do is nod, not able to trust yourself to keep it together enough to answer without crying. Your chest feels so tight. Moon takes his hand away from yours and puts it under your chin, making you look at him. If they keep doing this, you're going to melt. His voice is stern but still gentle - maybe afraid of sounding too harsh in your current mental state. "Y/N, we've talked about this. It's okay to cry. You're feeling stressed. We'll be here for you, promise."
He's right, you couldn't keep it in. That would only make you feel worse tomorrow. You are already feeling the effects today; a small headache forming, sore shoulders, and the mental burden it was causing. The tears finally start to build, blurring your view of Moon. "There you go Starlight. It's okay." He lets go of your chin to rub your back, while Sun is gently stroking your head. The first tear rolls down your cheek, hot and wet. Then the second follows quickly after. Before you know it, you're crying, being held and soothed by Sun and Moon. Both of them comfort you as you release the tension and stress from the day.
You're not sure how long you cried, but eventually, the tears stop. You feel a little better. Lighter, actually. Taking a deep - although shaky - breath and letting it out, you relax. The tension in your body seems to have left out through your tears. "I think, I'm a little better now." You rasp, voice slightly raw from the crying.
"That's great, Sunshine. I hate it when you come home and you had such a cloudy day at work." Sun pulls you close for a tight hug. He's back to his normal self now, seeing that you are feeling better. You return the hug, resting in the embrace. There's tickling on your nose and when you open your eyes, Sun dangles a tissue. You push Sun's hand away, chuckling a little at his joking around, and wipe your eyes.
"Here Starlight, I brought your favorite comfort food for dinner. You need to eat." He sets the plate on the coffee table in front of you. While Sun had been goofing with you, you hadn't noticed that Moon had left. You look at Moon and can't help the smile that crosses your lips. These boys took such great care of you. As you look at the food, your stomach starts rumbling a little. "I guess I'm a little hungry. Thank you, Moonie." Sun lets you go and Moon nods in appreciation and leaves again to the kitchen. You scoot to the edge of the cushion and take your first bite. When the food hits your mouth, there is a wave of relief that washes over you. Your favorite food always makes you feel better after a hard day.
Moon sets down your favorite drink as well and returns to his position beside you. "Care for your favorite movie, Sunshine?" Looking at Sun with a mouth full of food, you nod, knowing he will reprimand you if you speak with your mouth full. Always a stickler for good manners, that bot was. Sun's rays spin and he beams that you used your manners. He turns on the TV, finds your favorite movie, and pushes play.
Soon enough you finish your dinner and relax in Sun and Moons' arms. You enjoy the movie, but about halfway through, you feel cold hands on yours. You look at Moon, his blue gaze concerned but soft. "Starlight, you're picking again. Do you want to talk about your day?" You shrink a little at being caught. You had a bad habit of picking at your fingers when you're anxious.
"I… I guess I still am stressed from today." You look down at your hands, and Sun's having now joined the pile. "We'd love to hear about your day Y/N, good or bad." He pats your hand, encouraging you. "Okay, yeah. Well, when I first got there..." you started. You told them about your day; everything that made you upset, or happy, and everything else in-between.
As the boys listened, they gently held your hands or rubbed your back. At times when you got stuck, they would give you words of encouragement, telling you that you were doing great. When you got worked up, Sun took your arms and shook them out, helping to work out the frustration.
You don't know how long you ranted about your day, but they never once interrupted. They let you vent and allowed you to actually feel your feelings. When you're done, you lay back on the couch, eyes closed.
"Wow, I was… more upset than I thought." You feel Moon shuffle beside you and glance at him, he's getting off the couch. "Moonie? Where are you going?"
"Don't worry Starlight. Sun and I have something planned to help you feel better." He kisses your forehead and heads out of the room. You watch him go and look at Sun confused. What could they have planned while you were ranting? You know that they could talk to each other sort of like messaging. They must have been planning something during your rant, or even the moment you came home upset. You open your mouth to ask what's going on. However, Sun is one step ahead.
He looks back at you, but he just has a huge smile on his face. "Nuh-uh Sunshine. I'm not telling. No way, no how." He grabs you by the hips and pulls you into his lap, wrapping his arms around you. He leans his face closer to your ear and speaks softer, "It would spoil the surprise, and we can't have that. Now can we~?" He turns you to face him, and your hands go to his chest as he holds your lower back. Wow, his hands are big. Just one was enough to go around your whole waist, and both were now around you. While his thumbs rub your hips, he leans in closer, bringing your lips together. He’s gentle, the kiss soft and slow. One of his hands moves off of your hips and goes to the back of your head, pulling you closer for a deeper kiss.
You sigh when he kisses you, pushing into him when his hand reaches the back of your head. A hand of yours explores his chest, rubbing it, enjoying the soft silicone. He chuckles a little and releases your lips. “So sweet, Sunshine.” He begins to hum as he gently pets your head. You lean your head on Sun's chest, enjoying the comforting touch and quiet song.
What seems like too soon, Sun stands up, holding you close. "Part one of your surprise is ready Sunshine! Oooh, you're going to love it! I just know. You deserve it so so so much, Y/N!" He can't help but giggle. You can feel him shake a little as he holds himself back from stimming from the excitement, he doesn't want to drop you after all. He basically skips down the hall to the bathroom, where Moon is standing outside. "Hello, Starlight. Sun and I thought that since you've had such a rough day, and it's the weekend, you deserved to be pampered."
You look at Moon confused. "What do you mean, Moon?" You look up at Sun for a clue, but he still has the same big, goofy smile on his face from before. Sun hands you over to Moon, who takes you into the bathroom. The main lights are off, the only light is coming from the fairy lights all over and the candles. It smells amazing. The main scent you catch is lavender, Moon's specialty of course for relaxation. Along with the relaxing lavender, there are notes of your other favorite scents as well. Your eyes move to the bathtub and you see that it's full, and fizzing? Moon must have added a bath bomb at the last moment.
You feel Moon's chest rumble as he chuckles and you look at him. He has a smirk on his face but his eyes remain soft. "I take it by your face that you like it Starlight?" Sun's face appears behind Moon, waiting for you to answer. You're shocked actually. You never expected anything like this. "I love it. It's beautiful in here. Thank you for making me a bath." Sun claps ecstatically. "Oh of course Sunshine! So happy you like it."
Moon sets you down gently. "The bath is just one part, Starlight. We have more once you're done relaxing in the bath. Enjoy it as long as you'd like. I also set up relaxing music." He kisses your forehead and steps back. Sun comes up and kisses your forehead as well, telling you, "Don't worry about cleaning anything okay? When you're done, come to your room in the robe that’s on the door." They both give a smile before they leave, closing the door quietly.
You sit on the edge of the tub for a moment, taking it all in. Nobody had done something like this for you, ever. This was such a heartfelt gesture. You get undressed and slip into the water, the bath bomb done fizzing by now. The water is at the perfect temperature and it's shimmery with the oils. You hear light, relaxing music. You think how amazing it was that Sun and Moon did so much for you. So thankful that they had come into your life.
Sitting in the water with your eyes closed, enjoying the water and music, time means nothing. It's like you're not even in the bathroom in your house anymore either. You imagine that you're somewhere else entirely. Moon did such an amazing job setting it up, but the water is getting lukewarm now. You get up and grab and towel, stepping out to dry off. Looking at the door, there's the robe that Sun had mentioned. You grab it and put it on. It's fuzzy, and it quickly becomes warm from your body heat. You snuggle your face into it for a moment before you open the door.
As you walk to your room, you wonder what else the two celestial bots could have planned for you. The bath was already amazing. It was more than you had honestly expected. You open the door to your room and the lights are dimmed. Sun and Moon both turn to look at you as you walk in, smiles lighting up their faces.
Both of them walk over and put a hand on each of your shoulders. They lead you to the bed and have you sit down. "Are you ready for your next surprise, Sunshine?" You rub the fuzzy sleeve of the robe, suddenly feeling guilty. You avoid looking at either of them as you speak. "That's okay, Sunny. The bath was amazing. It's all I need, really." You could feel their gaze on you. "Y/N, you deserve this, we promise. We're doing this because we WANT to do it. We want to help you feel better." Sun crouches and places a hand on your leg, tilting his faceplate to look at you. You raise your eyes to look at him. His usual big smile is replaced with a smaller, more soft one.
Moon chimes in, sitting next to you. "Everything is for you, Starlight, to help you relax. No need to feel guilty about us wanting to pamper you." You look at Moon, a small smile on your face "You mean it?"
"Of course, our dearest galaxy." You nod your head, feeling comforted by both of their kind words. "Yeah, I'm ready for my next surprise."
Sun jumps up, excited. "Oh yay! You'll enjoy every surprise, Sunshine." He gets up and grabs a small box, returning to the bed. "Moon and I will give you a mani-pedi." You can't help but giggle a little bit. "You know how to?"
"Well, you did give us internet access Starlight. It's pretty simple to look it up." Moon takes your hand and some tools from the box Sun brought over. Sun takes your other hand and they both begin to work. They clip and file your nails until they're smooth, buffing your nails to make them shine. Taking care of your cuticles as well by pushing them back and with oils. They finish with a small hand massage. You don't own much nail polish so they didn't put any on, which was fine by you.
When they finish you take a look. "My nails look so shiny, and that small massage felt good." The boys exchange a look and say nothing. Moon grabs a pile of pillows and puts them behind you, pushing you to lay back on them. They begin to work on your feet, taking the same care that they took doing your fingernails.
"So, did you enjoy it Sunshine?" You had relaxed into the pillows so much, that you had started to zone out. "Oh, I did, very much. It felt nice."
"Oh, so happy to hear. So glad you liked it. We have one more surprise for you, Sunshine." Moon picks you up and clears off the extra pillows and sets you down on your belly.
"Starlight, is it okay if we move the robe off your back?" Moon holds your hand, waiting for a reply. They had always asked for your consent when needing to take care of more sensitive areas of your body. It was so sweet, but you weren't hurt on your back. You trusted them though, they had never done anything to harm you.
"Yes, it's okay Moonie." Taking your arms out as well, exposing your back to the cool air of the room. The sudden chill brings goosebumps to your skin and sends a slight shiver down your spine. You feel the bed shift as Sun joins you and Moon, sitting on either side of you. Moon places a hand on your now exposed back, leaning close to your ear. "The last surprise, our galaxy, is a massage."
You turn your head to Moon, your eyes widen with surprise. "A… a massage? For real?" Both Sun and Moon chuckle. "Silly Sunshine." Moon rubs your back lightly. "Of course for real. This is all for you." They start to move around you, Moon staying close to your head while Sun moves over to your nightstand, pulling out some lavender-scented lotion before he makes his way down to your lower back. You hear a whirr coming from them as they kick on their heating system. Their hands start to emit warmth as they prepare to give you the massage. Once satisfied with the temperature, Sun places some lotion on his hands and rubs them together, warming up the lotion. Moon takes the bottle and does the same, placing his warm hands on you. The heat felt absolutely amazing on your back, and they haven't started the massage yet. Once they start to work their fingers into your muscles, you melt. You let out a groan of relaxation.
Sun works your lower back, knowing you need it from sitting at your desk all day. Moon works your shoulders and shoulder blades that are sore from typing at the computer. Each time Moon finds a knot, he works them out gently. He presses on a spot that’s tender, a knot that’s extra tight that makes you wince. "I'm sorry Starlight. I know it's sore. Want me to stop?" You shake your head. "No, getting the knots out hurts but feels so much better when they're gone."
Moon takes his time and works on that knot a little slower than the others. Once Sun finishes loosening your lower back, you feel lighter. He then begins to massage the arm closest to him. "Your arms must get tired with all of the paperwork they make you do Sunshine. Your arms are tense too." That's all Moon needed to hear to move to your other arm once he finished working out that last knot.
By this time, your eyelids were getting heavy. You've never been this relaxed before. Sun giggles and strokes your cheek. "Sunshine, are you ready to sleep?" You blink away the drowsiness and look at Sun. "That was so relaxing. Thank you, for everything you two have done for me tonight." You roll over and sit up, giving a stretch to your newly sore, but in a good way, muscles. Also sliding the robe back onto your shoulders to cover yourself. They each take a hand and Moon speaks up, looking at him with adoration once he does. "You're welcome Starlight. You deserve to relax and so much more. Thank you for letting us take care of you." They lean in and give you a kiss on your cheek. "Let's get some rest."
